I do not even know where to start. This was the worst experience at an all inclusive resort that we have ever experienced. From the moment we got off the plane we were harassed to let airport personnel take our luggage to our previously booked transportation. As soon as you walk outside the airport doors you are then aggressively approached by numerous vendors wanting you to book excursions with them. You haven’t even arrived at your hotel and yet they are already wanting you to book offsite excursions. That should have been our first red flag. Once arriving to the hotel we had to ask where to go to check in for the family side. We booked the swim out suite. We opened the door and noticed the tv had white painted splattered all on, was barely hanging on the wall and practically on its side. Our daughter climb to the top bunk bed in the room and seen purple and brown stains on the sheets and looking at the other beds all were the same. There was hair all over all the beds as if the sheets never got change from the previous guest. When walking out to the pool it had food and paper of some sort floating around. We were excited to go see the beach and had to take a 15 minute tram ride. The beach was covered in sea grass ( understand it is heavy season and something the resort cannot control) but there was minimal efforts to clear it from the shoreline. You could tell it had been there for quite some time as the smell was unbearable. They advertise free WiFi but in order to even be able to pull up google, you need to purchase the premium WiFi for each device connected. We as a family went ahead and purchased it for all 4 phones in case we got separated we would be able to call each other. Nope the premium internet was no better. No big deal because we wanted to disconnect from electronics anyways. Except EVERYTHING you need for the hotel in on their app that requires solid internet connection to even access. Dinner reservations which is require for all restaurants on resort except for the buffets, maps of where everything is located and information about your stay is on that app. When asked guest service about the app issue they acted annoyed for requesting for us to book reservations with them instead of the app. The staff seemed like any question was an inconvenience to answer. Drinks were so terrible that a frozen pina colada was warm and melted. The pool was green the entire stay, we were harassed every 5 minutes to buy something or book an excursion. The staff were holding hands and grabbing and rubbing each other’s butts and ignoring the guest who paid a lot of money to be there. We had specifically picked to stay at this resort because we have a picky eater and they listed foods he would eat on their site. It was not until the last day there that we figured out that there was a kids menu we could have requested instead of having our son survived on French fries and fruit. Not a single thing about our experience was good at the resort. The language barrier is a very big problem. We 100% respect that Spanish is the spoken language and came prepared to needing to translate a lot. We also had google translate on standby and spoke in Spanish as often as we could but was met with eye rolls of huffs when our Spanish was broken. We pretty much roamed the resort with no sense of guidance the entire 5 day stay we had. Only good thing we did was go off resort to monkey land. I have so much more I could share but just do not even have the energy to do so. Which is very sad as we all should be so relaxed after returning from a beach vacation. I honestly wished I was back home at work while laying pool side… that is how horrible the whole trip was.
Very disappointing. Hotel very much in need of renovation. WiFi and A/C both sporadic and not good enough. Many (not all) staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Alexander, the manager, tried to sort things but no compensation offered. Lovely massage at the spa but nowhere for my clothes to hang/go so they had to go on the floor! Music around the pool and in the main restaurant too repetitive and eventually annoying. Food choice in the main restaurant didn't really change despite the supposed different themed evening choices.
We have just come back from our stay at the princess Punta Cana. I really don’t have anything good to say about this hotel. The toilet repeatedly flooded in our room was broken some days we had no hot water some days we had no water we had no Work television or phone in our room and after several trips to reception to try and get these things rectified they kept saying the maintenance will be with you shortly and they never turned up. We paid for an upgraded room with a Jacuzzi bath and we couldn’t use it because the plug wouldn’t stay in the food was catered for mainly Spanish not a great variety it seemed to us and other English couples that were staying at the hotel that the Dominican staff didn’t seem to like English people and we were only treated equally after giving staff a tip. The beach which is a big thing for us as we prefer the beach to the pool we couldn’t go in because there was so much seaweed along the beach and also in the water it was that bad that you couldn’t go in. I would never normally give reviews but this cost us a lot of money and was a total disappointment. Talking to other British couples everyone felt the same and one couple even tried to get a flight home before their holiday had finished things were that bad. Most people
Reception and grounds beautiful the rooms on the other hand old toilet didnt flush reported it numerous times they would sort it but not fix it there was no point in the air con being on the room . Everything was damp the balcony door kept coming off the runners and the glass coming away from the frame. The staff were amazing. Would I return to punta cana most definitely to this hotel probably not until they sort the rooms out
Thanks for wonderful vacation! Special thanks for Yakeyry Espinal Hostess!
