Beware pictures are absolutely not the experience you will get once in the resort. Once shown to our room by a butler, (worse money spent, they do nothing for you), be ready for the mildew and run down experience. From broken furniture to safes not working, gaps in doors letting bugs in, to housekeeping needing to come back several times because they never replenish the consumables, just know you will need to call them, often. This place needs better maintenance management and overall resort management. The expectation was set to be marginal at best to start, but the moved the bar even lower, disappointing for the price. While there is so much more about the experience I will end with if you want a clean, neat, organized, and luxurious resort stay somewhere else. Also, beware of booking excursions with Amstar, they really are zero help should an issue arise. Other couple spent 12 hours on a sand bar excursion because the boat kept breaking down, they were notified the next day, they would do nothing about the inconvenience and then say they were never notified.

Just arrived today, check in was an absolute mess. No explanation to what is happening, keys don’t work which they knew before we were taking to our room (another massive wait). Was told just to head back and get the keys fixed. Had to queue another 20 minutes to get the keys to work. Our room is also a twin room (we are a couple). Told they had no kings available and it’s more of a request to get a king over a twin room. Was told to come back tomorrow and ask and they said they would see if they could switch us which again is unacceptable. When I asked if I could speak to a manager I was told to go to another desk which was allegedly guest services but it was just a different check in desk and they would give me contact details of a manager? Again a large queue for this desk so gave up. Honestly the worst day 1 experience I have had. No resolution in place, no apology, just incredibly poor service.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It’s located near a landfill/DUMP. The rooms smelled like SEWAGE. Service was awful. Family got SICK. Our large group was forced to stay here after Ocean El Faro overbooked (another resort to avoid). The check in process took over an hour, with two different people. The supervisor charged us with a security deposit that was suppose to be refundable. I questioned it but he continued to just say “just sign” and yelling at me. 14 days and no refund. Unprofessional and scam. The rooms are awful and smell foul, like sewage. The bellboy misplaced one of our luggage to the room. Had to call the front desk multiple times to come pick up our luggage on check out. After one day my family got sick. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Vacation is suppose to fun and relaxing. This place is the opposite.

Resort aesthetically pleasing and fantastic location. Close to airport and one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve experienced. Most bartenders and restaurant staff were friendly although did come across a few that were less than kind and came off as rude. Plentiful food options BUT be cautious with leafy greens, water served from pitchers rather than filtration system and seafood. 4/10 of our group got violently ill and spoke to others while at resort whom also had the same symptoms. House keeping did an ok job each day but needed reminders for restock of beverages, coffee and replacement of coffee mugs. Grounds were groomed but needed to sweep up and remove dead cockroaches before visible to guests. Dead roaches in building 18 ground floor for 3 days before cleaned. Would not recommend this resort.

Great resort. Food was decent. Majority of the staff were rude made the experience less appealing. The beach was beautiful but the last day had a lot of sargassum. Fernando at the Diamond Club beach was the best server for all 8 days we stayed there. He was working really hard to serve all the DC guest that were in the beach side. All with a smile, being friendly and once he see's your drink low he comes right over and asks us for our next drink. Wished everyone was like him. Yenny our butler was another type of worker that made our stay better. She helped with all our dinner reservations for the times we wanted, answers our Whatsup message quickly when we needed anything. She was very helpful and made our stay easier. Another best person we really loved was Karina Santos Pichado. She took time to talk with us and her honesty was appreciated. Her ability to connect with her guests shows how amazing she is at what she does. She's part of our family now ❤️
