Royalton CHIC Punta Cana Resort & Spa

From the moment we stepped on the property the staff was very attentive. From William at the bell stand who helped with valet parking to Billy our Butler who created an itinerary for our dining experience. Indian restaurant was excellent the chef I’m told was from India. Emilio the restaurant manager accommodated all of our food and seating requests. Our breakfast waitress Alexandra was super helpful she made sure we had to go food cartons for one of our early excursions. The waitresses Nelly and Geomary made sure they surprised me with special nonalcoholic drinks every night. The only hiccup of our stay my daughters paid for an upgrade to the diamond club room and on the last night did not have any hot water to bathe. The front desk attendant at the Diamond Club check in area said there was nothing that she could do for us. She did not attempt to call the manager as I had ask her to do because according to her it was late and the manager went home.

The location was ok, kind of far away from everything if you plan on leaving the resort be prepared to pay a lot in travel fair. The parties are dry so depending on age you will want to leave. The steakhouse was horrible, I had bad service food was nasty and they charged me for a side salad 46$ I never had. When I told them during checkout I never had they were no help didn’t care. They way they treat you at check out, made me wished I never stayed there. There was no hot water on the last day had to take a cold shower. The buffet is really good. Just eat there, all the other restaurants never have any openings, and people Try and sale you over price stuff all day. The spa was really nice, that and the buffet is the best thing.

Consistently friendly service in a beautiful property (the garden and grounds are very well kept). Thank you to Wilmy for his friendly and helpful service as our butler during our stay.

This was our first visit to the Royalton Chic and despite the friendly staff and great weather, we would not go back. It was my birthday the day after we arrived, my daughter had contacted the hotel numerous times before our visit to ask if the room could be decorated or even a cake for the actual day but never received any response. As a result nothing was done apart from a cake the day after my birthday and that was only because my husband mentioned it to Daniela. There were various problems with the room, not all got sorted. Hardly any parasols round the pool and torn covers on the sun beds. Restaurants were hit and miss both food wise and opening days/times. Fortunately the great staff helped make our stay more enjoyable.

Went to Royalton Chic Punta Cana to with my husband to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was one of the most frustrating stays I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, staff were more focused on pushing sales pitches than actually helping guests. You can't relax for five minutes without someone trying to upsell you on something. Our room had basic problems that took three separate complaints: only one face cloth for two people, no remote, a phone that wasn't even connected to the receiver (cord missing), and a shower door that wouldn't stay shut. Even after complaining, the "fixes" were half done, more towels, sure, but the replacement remote wasn't programmed to the TV, phone never fixed, and shower door we used a face towel as a stopper. Dinner at the Steakhouse was its own disappointment. I ordered the grill mix and I couldn’t cut through the chicken with a steak knife, the sausage wasn’t cooked, I only ate the one rib. They were out of brisket and mashed potatoes, and when I ordered creamed spinach and corn (which the waiter personally assured me was great), I was brought zucchini and fries instead. I tried to buy a tote bag from one of their promotions since I'd forgotten my beach bag at home, happy to pay for it and got sent in circles for a full day. Ask this person, ask that person, come back tomorrow. Nobody actually knew anything. The one bright spot was our waitress, Rosa (I believe that was her name), at the two cabanas we reserved for the foam party. She was attentive and genuinely helpful the only staff member who made us feel like actual guests rather than a sales target. Overall the rest of the staff seemed miserable and treated basic requests like a burden. I travel frequently and have a membership at another resort chain. I only bought in there because the service made me want to. Royalton tried pushing a breakfast sales pitch for a Prime membership here, and honestly, after being treated this poorly, why would I? I wouldn't stay here again even if they offered a free night in the mansion suite.
