It is a beautiful resort, no complaints at all about the resort or the employees. Juana waited on us in the Marche buffet, and Jade. She is the sweetest person ever.

We travelled as a family of 3 with a young son (7) from UK. Relatively short transfer from the airport- about 30-40mins but airport was chaotic to locate the transfer. Overall we were happy with the resort. The hotel and grounds were clean and tidy. The food was okay. Never going to blow you away as an All Inclusive but we always found something. Restaurants were difficult to book but we managed 5 during our 2 week stay. Hunters (steakhouse) and Zen (Tepenyaki) were our favourites (but also the most popular.) Breakfast was good- fresh egg stations and lots of choice. They did tend to cook masses of pancakes which then sat and went cold rather than staggering them. Drinks were ok, but generally weak local spirits- it wasn’t clear what was and wasn’t included in terms of branded drinks . Many of the cocktails were pre-mixed which were sweet and became sickly. The wine was surprisingly ok. Pools were good and we were glad that we never had an issue for beds or shade, although, we are early birds which probably helped. The business varied day to day but some days there were still beds available at 10 o’clock. It was a shame some people walked away leaving beds with towels on and never returned. Entertainment was ok- we saw the magic show, rock show and Beatles show. This was the same each week and would have been better to have a 2 week rotation for guests staying more than a week. The daily schedule was not always clear and not much for the kids on this site. We ventured over to splash and enjoyed the waterpark a few times but there was very little shade by their pools. We did a half day reef-restoration and snorkelling trip which was good (plenty of suncream needed) and a half day visit to Monkey land, which again we really enjoyed .(booked through Tui). We didn’t try to venture out on our own based on others experiences. The shops on site were expensive but did have a range of items clothes, gifts, toiletries, floats etc. We drank the water (purified on site) but used bottled water for brushing teeth etc. no illness and no one we spoke with did either. We were nervous based on some recent reviews, however we have realistic expectations for AI resorts such as this one. It wasn’t as good as the Royalton we visited in Mexico a few years back, but overall we were happy. Staff generally were friendly and helpful- a few salty characters but when you see how some of the visitors speak to them and demand service rather than speak to them in a polite and courteous. A few large rowdy groups were a pain, and shocked by some behaviours ( one group throwing a stick of bread around the lobby bar one evening- mostly American I have to say) this isn’t the fault of the hotel, and we felt for the staff having to put up with this level of disrespect.

This is a place you should not visit. Bad front desk service. Not welcoming. Many erras in need of repair.
