Had a lovely couple of weeks here, would definitely recommend. It's beautifully kept, super clean, the beach is stunning, pools are lovely but most of all, the staff are just absolutely wonderful! Juliana, the activities lady was full of boundless energy, all the greeter ladies at the adults buffet and the coffee shop were amazing, the towel guy was super lovely to name but a few. They were all very patient with our limited Spanish and keen to teach us more which we really appreciated rather than just speaking English with us. Our favourite thing about this resort were the manatees - we thought we'd be lucky to get a glimpse of one but we saw one 4 times and they stay around for ages just chomping on the edges of the rocks. The lifeguards monitor them and make sure nobody gets too close which great to see. Snorkelling off the beach - it was poor viz for the first week but then improved. Not much coral but there are some fish and turtles and rays, especially early or at dusk away from the crowds. Massage was one of the best I've had! Things we liked: large swimming area in the sea, plenty of sunbeds, beautiful sunsets, smoking zones to keep the smokers away (though these were not enforced unfortunately), comfy beds, lots of restaurants to choose from and no need to book - we never queued. Things we didn't like as much but not big issues: main buffet for breakfast and lunch is not self-service, you have to ask for everything and it just makes it slow and harder to try a little bit of things without wasting food. Also lots of bottled water - would be nice if they had refill stations you could use your own bottle. Paddleboards etc have to be booked in advance - we never had a problem getting one but they sat there unused a lot so it'd be nice if you could just go up and use them. Other info: wifi is poor on sunbeds - didn't bother me but it's important to some. Not many hangars in the wardrobes. Lobby is very reluctant to change money for smaller notes. We walked into town to buy things from the local supermarket but they didn't want bigger notes either so it's really hard to find enough change for tips once you use up all the small notes you get when you exchange money. You can buy coconuts from just along the beach towards the town.
