Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & SPA

Just returned from an amazing family vacation at this beach resort, and overall we had a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding, the location was beautiful, and the rooms and facilities exceeded our expectations. The restaurant staff, servers, and hostesses truly made the trip special with their exceptional service and hospitality. The only downside, in my opinion, was that the liquor selection wasn’t top-shelf. Other than that, everything was excellent, and we had a wonderful stay. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing beach getaway with great food and outstanding service.

I recently took a vacation with my family and friends to Miches, Dominican Republic and stayed at Secrets Playa Esmeralda Adults Only for a beautiful wedding. We stayed on the Preferred Club side, which was incredibly convenient and private, with its own exclusive pool and beach all within steps of each other. Our butler, Amarlys Mercedes, was exceptional. She was bubbly, friendly, and personable, and she stayed in constant communication with us throughout our trip. Whether it was making restaurant reservations, updating us on the daily activities, or helping us with unexpected travel changes, she went above and beyond. When our flight was delayed, she seamlessly helped us extend our stay by two nights, making the entire process completely stress free. The resort itself was clean, elegant, and well maintained. The food was good, with a variety of restaurants to choose from. One of the perks of staying in the Preferred Club is access to top shelf liquor however, this benefit is only available in the Preferred Club areas. When visiting the shared restaurants, evening entertainment, or the piano bar, Preferred Club guests are not able to receive top shelf liquor. It would be a great improvement if Preferred Club guests were given wristbands so they could enjoy the benefits they paid for throughout the entire resort. The rooms were beautiful. In the preferred club side, you get a Jacuzzi outside with spacious room inside. The bathroom has double sinks, just not much privacy when going to the bathroom. The beach was absolutely beautiful and honestly even nicer than Punta Cana. The water was crystal clear, and there was no seaweed, which made it even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The service, especially from Amarlys, made our stay memorable, and we would definitely consider returning.

Generally great experience. Simon my butler was always really helpful. Stephy at the market Cafe had exceptional service remembering my room number and greeting me personally everyday. Language was sometimes a barrier. Good selection of food. Restaurants had mainly great food.. i would stay away from the wasabi chocolate mousse. Was terrible. One negative was the sand fleas on the beach. Watched the glorious sunrises but ended up with a hundred bites.. next time id put a bug repellent on had i known.

The resort was clean and the staff was friendly. There were some communication barriers as we do not speak any Spanish.. We needed a door to separate the bathroom from the main room in our swim out master suite. Our Yeudy, Butler was attentive and responsive very friendly. The meals were just average.
