Sunscape Coco Punta Cana

The location is very dirty They have one show a night & the pools close at 7pm, basketball & tennis too. Only one shopping area Beach is very small The upgraded rooms are ok but the regular are very outdated. Our shower head was broken & the air conditioner barley worked. Definitely not worth the money

One of the better values out there. You get exactly what you pay for. This is not a luxury experience by any means but it’s not priced that way so it’s fine. It’s totally fully all inclusive and the food is abundant and in wide variety if not the absolute highest quality. Drinks are great and there are tons of bars scattered throughout the property. They were having an unfortunate seaweed “attack” during my stay but that’s a seasonal thing that can’t be helped and without it I think the beach would’ve been awesome. As is it was still pretty nice. The waterslides are awesome. They have fun shows and great music each night. There’s a small casino and a big store. It’s mostly geared towards families and kids but even as a solo adult I really enjoyed it. A fun vacation shouldn’t always have to cost an arm and a leg and I’m glad this option exists so people can have a solid good time without spending a bundle! Horrible experience had to change 3 rooms over no air and the a roach in the room and had to pay an Extra $30!!! Started an argument. Would talk over me.

I stayed at Sunscape Coco Punta Cana with my family in July 2026, and we specifically paid extra for the Sun Club, which is marketed as the resort’s premium VIP experience. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences we’ve had and certainly not what I expected from a Hyatt-affiliated property. The disappointment starts the moment you enter the resort. You’re greeted by a strong, unpleasant odour that lingers throughout the property. This wasn’t a one-time issue—it remained throughout our stay, and it didn’t appear that any meaningful effort was being made to address it. The rooms are in poor condition and feel neglected. It’s not just the larger maintenance issues, but the small details that reveal the overall lack of care. Towels were carelessly arranged, the curtains had large visible holes, and the room generally looked worn out. These may seem like minor issues individually, but together they create the impression of a resort that has stopped paying attention to quality. It honestly feels like a blot on the Hyatt brand. The Sun Club (VIP) service was anything but VIP. Housekeeping was practically impossible to reach. Most requests simply went unanswered, forcing us to make repeated trips to the reception desk in person just to get basic necessities. The worst example was our room’s air conditioning. In the middle of July, the AC was barely functioning. It took five separate requests over two days—three made in person at reception and two by phone—before anyone finally fixed it. That is completely unacceptable at any resort, let alone one advertising premium accommodations. Even something as simple as requesting extra towels became an ordeal. We’d ask in the evening and, after chasing housekeeping three or four more times, the towels would finally arrive sometime the following afternoon. Basic guest services should not require this much effort. It also seemed that no one bothered to perform even a basic inspection before assigning rooms to guests. Many of the issues we encountered should have been obvious before the room was ever occupied. The beach was another major disappointment. While I understand that July is seaweed season in Punta Cana, the beach appeared dirty and poorly maintained. The water was murky, filled with seaweed, and unpleasant enough that we avoided swimming. Staff attributed everything to the season, but there seemed to be very little effort to keep the beachfront as clean as possible. Dining was equally frustrating. The restaurants were consistently disorganized, with long waits and poor service that made nearly every meal feel like a chore rather than part of a relaxing vacation. The only real positives were the food itself and the bars. The meals, when you eventually got them, were generally enjoyable, and the bartenders were friendly and made good drinks. Unfortunately, good food and drinks aren’t enough to compensate for poor accommodations, inadequate service, and a lack of basic maintenance. Overall, I cannot recommend Sunscape Coco Punta Cana, especially if you’re considering paying extra for the Sun Club experience. The premium price simply does not translate into premium service. There are far better all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana that offer cleaner facilities, better-maintained rooms, and staff who respond to guest needs promptly.

Must avoid! The room service and responsiveness of the support staff is terrible! On entering the resort there is a pungent smell which stays with you during your entire stay. For small little need you need to keep calling room service, 1st they won’t pick up and then they won’t give you what you need. If you need something you have to run down to the reception in person to request everything. Sun Club membership is the worse and should be totally avoided. They took 2 days to fix the ac in the room after chasing them 4 times. It was a terrible experience in the month of July. The Ocean water is dirty and you cannot go in, blame this on the season or the seaweeds. The pungent smell in the corridors is unbearable. The only saving grace is the restaurants and top notch bars and drinks.
