Sunscape Dominicus La Romana

As this is an onest review, please read and take out all best and bad facts As we travel a lot and not the first time in dominican Republic we know what to expect and how this area works. Will try to cover all the good parts and bad parts off our hotel stay Days 3 out off 14! (ongoing holiday) Booked 14 nights stay, Sunclub superior garde view, Arrived at hotel, check in fast and smooth received our room and to our surprise when we enter the room we was shocked, as you can see on the photos Our room was in very bad shape, floor tiles broken all over the room, the sink was not cleaned(sign off switch on it) The fridge in very bad shape, Outside balcony roof glass broken and hanging out any moment to fail(extremely life threatening danger) We had requested and offered a new room,a bit better condition but still in bad shape, Next day we went to reception to ask for the best room they have as willing to pay extra Been offer another room for 500$ extra on top off our 5000$ the room was full off damp/strong smell unsafe for children. (The hotel has good rooms as the reception staff show me some rooms but the extra charges asked based on the situation we had been 500$ and 1000$ Upgrade so there is good rooms but in our situation been offered on extra charge unexplained As we had paid for upgraded room already When we booked) Day 2 Again went to reception and ask for another room same like we already paid but to be able to have basic condition Been offer the 3 room in 2 days to end up in middle off night with another family try to enter our room as they have been assigned the same room(room14106 currently ) Could not sleep after that! Day 3 In morning to find out our room cards doesn't work anymore (another visit to reception to sort the issue out) First 3 days off our stay we spend more time on check in desk than enjoy the nights out on the reception area!! Please bear in mind we have upgraded package sun club superior that offer some extras not basic room or package and we still facing some issues I try to cover the room issue up to now. Restaurants and food! Overall a good experience with some small issues but unnoticeable. As sun club offer some extras you can use tierra restaurant a la carte breakfast and lunch and apparently the dinner you need appointment fact that is presented to you on arrival (been advertised otherwise online and on the hotel website for sunclub members you have priority and no appointment needed) The app doesn't allow you to book in advance for all days off your holiday a d is 1 day in advance sistem if you miss it you eat where you can. First day all good been served excellent, 2 day breakfast placed order (received fruits first ,20 min later daughter received her food,another 10 min wife received food My food 50min later did not show(2 eggs and some bacon) Decided to leave as impossible to stay 1 hr for a breakfast we came in holiday to enjoy beach and water not to spend hr in restaurants. 3 other families come after us finish eating, and I still waited for my food. Beach Sun club members has own part off beach But the issue is that no security to check who is sun club member or who is not and the tower guy ask room but he don't know who is sun club The umbrelas and seating area is full off people with day pass and people with grey towers that don't belong to the sun club area beach. Make it impossible to find a place after 08:30 Other than that is a Beautiful beach, Drinks and bars offer local drinks(upgraded sunclub members has access to international drinks but there are just for decor because staff make your drinks with local alcohol and not with the proper alcohol) Long waiting time,and almost all staff doesn't speak English (most off them ignore you when you adress them in English) Hotel Gardens and activities and entertainment team The entertainment is great,staff does everything to make you happy plenty off activities only downside, most off them doesn't speak English (most off time you don't understand what's happening, but you have fun Overall) Aquapark and half off pools closed down for renovation no option for children to enjoy and have fun

To be honest, we were very excited to come to Bayahibe and to the Resort, however it felt very disappointed. Firstly my reservation had the club access and at the desk they wanted to sell it again. The rooms are very old, bathroom amenities were empty, room's forniture very old. Ask for a renovated room. A bit dirty and caotic. We won't come back for sure.

The hotel and location was beautiful. Staff always happy to help, very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks to them my friend and I felt at home. The food was amazing

The service is excellent but unfortunately the food is very bad , the buffet is same all the time and the food dose taste nice . If you pay for club VIP you will eat same food but in restaurants , the grill is not grill and the alcohol is extremely cheap and bad. I’m giving 3 stars only because of the present service!
