Raffles Seychelles

We stayed 12 nights at Raffles in Praslin, two adults and two children. We were on full board. The hotel sells an ultra luxury vacation concept however the property on Praslin may not be there yet. Positives: the level of service received from the staff is well above average. These people come from all over Africa (Kenya, Madagascar, Egypt, Uganda etc) and Asia (India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka etc). They well deserve their tips and extras. Quality of food served in the restaurants is also above the average. (The chef comes and chats with clients each day). He is very friendly and open to accommodate any requests). Menus seem oriented towards premium dining if à la carte, but buffet also offers excellent choices. (Still becomes a bit repetitive after 7 nights) Some negatives: poll area and pools look pretty ran down for what raffles sells for. They need a proper renovation. Losean restaurant also has a venu and furniture that looks like from the 80s, although hotel is only 15y old. Truth being said the hotel is in a renovation process and maybe their turn will come (we were not bothered by any construction works). The lounge area in villas may need some regressing as well. However what really bothered me a lot was the management practice to sell “premium” 750 ml sparkling water for 15 euro a bottle (crazy!!!) at dinner time, arguing that free house sparkling water is not available (although if one insists a bit house water becomes available). Still water is free of charge. What may be mentioned here is that prices seem a bit disproportionate: 15 euro a local beer, 7 euro an espresso, Lunch at pool for 2 adults and 2 children can easily go above 200 euro while dinner 300+ euro (with no wine). The cheapest bottle of burgundy starts at 100 euro. My take is that Raffles is ultra luxury segment. This hotel is not there yet.

We spent two weeks at Raffles with our family, and the hotel was outstanding. We loved staying in a spacious villa right by the beach. One detail that really matters: the villa has a proper climate-control system rather than just a standard AC unit, and it makes a real difference. The service was excellent and the staff responded to every request instantly. The hotel was also very accommodating and extended our late checkout at no extra charge. A special heartfelt thank-you to our butler Simon, who was always on hand and took care of everything we needed right away!

Amazing place The staff are amazing!! They are the hoghlight of our experience Frank, bernard, joy , we felt like we are at home with their kindness And Derek at SABOR restaurant was so gentle Beach, volley ball, and Food is just amazing!

Chef Zaw & Shiv Dayal the best of sushi room. Incredible food and service in this restaurant.

We had a rest with our family in this wonderful place! Villa 290 is quite high, but thanks to the buggy you can get there without any problems! The villa is gorgeous, with a view of the jungle and the ocean. If you need a quiet, measured rest, this is the best place! Wonderful turtles live in the hotel! The villa is sometimes visited by lizards and birds. Very kind and helpful staff - any request can be resolved by calling the reception or by personal request. Room cleaning twice a day, the minibar was replenished daily. The impressions are the best! Lunch food on the menu, dinner buffet. You can't stay hungry! Everything is delicious!
