Les Lauriers Eco Hotel & Restaurant

We stayed over New Year's and honestly couldn't have picked a better spot. The location is ideal, right near Côte d'Or beach and perfectly placed to explore Praslin. It's a family run place and you can really tell. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff is lovely, always friendly and attentive. You can tell they take real pride in what they do. Our room was comfortable and well kept, with nice little touches that show real attention to detail. Everything was spotlessly clean and it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful at night, even over the holiday period. The restaurant was our favorite part. We ate there most evenings and the food was consistently great, fresh and full of flavor. The hotel has everything, great value for what you get. We'll be back!

Les Lauriers is a luxurious, peaceful, attractive hotel. The amenities in the honeymoon suite were outstanding and extremely spacious, even if the bed was slightly smaller than other places we stayed. We loved having the double sinks, huge rainforest shower, and a private pool, as well as the terrace out front. We were visited by housekeeping at least twice each day which meant all our needs were met. The location is right next to all the main attractions of Cote d'or beach but is still very peaceful. The breakfast was served buffet style and was delicious and very fresh, with eggs prepared infront of you while you wait. We only wish that the pool bar and area was open later as we weren't able to experience this since we were out all day and its shut by 6pm. Overall, a lovely place to stay if you want to treat yourself, with a great atmosphere, ideal location, and friendly staff.

Excellent hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms for two people. Nice furnishing of wood. The staff is great, very kind and helpful. Always doing some work to keep the place nice and clean. And the receptionist oh my god.. this woman is just fabulous! She is always there and ready to help with any need you have like renting a car, ordering taxi from the ferry to the hotel, booking a tour for you, giving advice for good restaurants, beaches and places on the island. And doing all of that with a smile on her face, just makes you smile too. The hotel has a great restaurant with a nice pool beside which have its own bar for cocktails and drinks. They even have their own giant turtles in the garden. The location is perfect with many take away restaurants, supermarkets, shops, ATM and change in less then 3 min walk from your room. The Cote D'Or Beach is right in front where most of the boat tours start.

We rented the villa a small walk from the hotel as we were traveling with 2 families, a group of in total 9 people. The house was fine, spacious, nice outdoor area but overall a bit rundown, not exceptionally clean. Location is great, right on the water, there are some shops and restaurants in walking distrance. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the hotel, which was plentiful. Pool area also very nice, kids loved it. Just a shame it closes at 6pm which is a bit early in the tropics. We had a power black out for 24 hours, it was on the whole island and I think even on all of the Seychelles. Inconvenient as it was, the hotel was not at fault of course. What they did fault was the way they handled the situation. No communication, no explanation, no sympathy, no help offered, NOTHING. I reached out to the reception myself after more then 12 hours and all I got was, it's not our fault. No 'how can we help? We understand your frustration. Were the kids allright? Do you need a flashlight or some candles?' Nothing, no empathy, just a really defensive attitude. We were not the only guests feeling upset about this, a lot of them were angry. So unnecessary, this could have been easily fixed with some kind words, some understanding and perhaps a free drink or whatever to change the mood. I work in hospitality myself and believe that communication can save the day. Being kind doesn't cost a thing. Management at Les Lauriers has a lot to learn in this field.
