AluaSun Marbella Park

The hotel/resort did not meet our expectations as far as cleanliness and food. Was not a 4 star resort. The room was muggy and it needed a deep deep clean. The remote to the TV was inoperable. On the TV even when you changed the language it still showed the shows in the local language.

The location was a bit out which we knew but the shops and restaurants were within easy walking distance. There was free transport to the beach and transport to Marbella Town for only 4 Euros each . The staff were always friendly from reception, restaurant, bar and cleaners. The animation team were really hard working. Lots of games for both adults and children. The shows they put on were a lot of fun. The food was varied, fresh and good. Our room was large and airy with comfortable beds. The place was clean although the public lounge areas could do with a refurb as they are a bit tired.

Location for me was fine. It was near resident family and a taxi to the beach my choice. The local bars and restaurants were brilliant.

One question: is it four stars hotel? Please compare with the attached photos- nothing more. Additionally comments aren't required.

5/5 Amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, we had a very pleasant experience. Room was nice, good size, clean and what a balcony!. The restaurant was nice and had food for every taste. Breakfast had everything from cereals, yoghurts, desserts, eggs, bacon, beans, bread and cold cut meat. Lunch was abit of a mix, but ranged everything from desserts, fries and other typical buffet options. Dinner had themed nights, with delicious foods within that theme, and also the more neutral stuff if the theme nights wasnt within your taste. The pool and bar area was basically the main attraction of the hotel. A big spacious area within range of both the pool and the bar. This place had tables with shading and without, sunbeds everywhere, and they had a "Adult only area" which is always appreciated. and the absolutely best thing was the entertainment from the staff! They had Yoga in the morning, all kinds of competitions along the day, Aquafitness at 11.00 and Aquazumba at 17.00. Entertainment for the small kids in the evening and a big entertainment show late at night at 22.00 The staff did this SO well, and really brought in a big happy smile :) While everything was almost perfect, here comes a few suggestions for the hotel. There is a fridge in your room which turns off, when you leave the room. They have this contraption that you have to leave your cards in the wall, to have electricity in the room, Which every hotel have and its more than fair :) But It seems weird that the fridge turns off aswell :) Tokens for cups: This hotel uses a Token, that you can use to get a cup in the bar, this of course makes sure that people dont throw away the cups all the time. Which is great! But this token costs a 1€, (You get it back, when you turn in the token) The problem is, it can only be bought with Cash, which we didnt have in our first day. Suggestion would be to simply include a token when they arrive (You could raise the room price with a few euros)
