We stayed at Ikos Andalusia from 30 September to 8 October 2026. This was our fourth holiday with the Ikos brand, having previously stayed twice at Ikos Aria and once at Ikos Oceania. Our previous experiences were excellent, which is why we returned with such high expectations. Sadly, this stay was a significant departure from the standards we had previously experienced. We paid over £11,000 for this eight-night holiday, booked through easyJet’s Luxury Collection, and expected the accommodation, service and attention to detail associated with a luxury resort of this standing. Instead, problems began as soon as we entered our rooms. What disappointed us most was not simply that things went wrong, but the lack of urgency and proactive communication when we raised our concerns. This was not a case of one minor issue spoiling an otherwise perfect holiday. It was the cumulative effect of several problems and the way they were handled that left us feeling so let down. Unacceptable room issues from the outset On entering our rooms, we discovered dirty bedding, a bathroom shelf hanging off and, most concerningly, toilet tissue stuffed into electrical sockets in our room. This raised an obvious safety concern and was not something we ever expected to encounter at a resort of this standard. In our son’s room, the shower door would not close properly, leaving a noticeable gap and allowing water to leak out. There was also a marked, dirty chair. We reported these problems at approximately 4pm on the day of our arrival and immediately requested to be moved to different rooms. Despite reporting these issues that afternoon, we heard nothing further until 11am the following morning—and only because I chased the hotel myself. The initial action was for housekeeping to remove the toilet tissue from the electrical sockets and change the bedding. We received no meaningful update about our request to move rooms, nor did anyone proactively contact us the following morning to reassure us that our concerns were being addressed. We had specifically asked to be moved because of the condition of our rooms, but were eventually told that the hotel was full and there were no alternative rooms available. As a result, we had to remain in accommodation that had fallen below the standard we expected. We understand that maintenance issues can occur in any hotel. What we found difficult to understand was why, after raising several concerns immediately on arrival, we were left to chase the hotel ourselves rather than receiving prompt communication and reassurance. To be fair, maintenance did attend to repair the shower door in our son’s room. However, on the day of checkout, I discovered that it was once again failing to close properly and allowing water to leak out. My son had not told me the problem had returned, so I only became aware of it at the end of our stay. Although we acknowledge the initial repair, it was disappointing to discover that the problem had recurred. The condition of the rooms on arrival, combined with the lack of proactive communication, fell well below what we expected from a luxury resort. An embarrassing and disappointing dining experience The service we experienced was equally disappointing. On several occasions, food orders were forgotten, and we had to chase staff to find out where our food was. Having to follow up on orders that should have arrived without prompting was frustrating and detracted from the dining experience we expected at a luxury all-inclusive resort. On one occasion, a member of staff also questioned whether we had ordered too much food. We were a party of four adults on an all-inclusive holiday. Being questioned in this way was embarrassing and entirely inappropriate in the circumstances. We raised the matter with management, who agreed that guests were entitled to order as much food as they wished. However, despite this acknowledgement, we received no apology or meaningful follow-up from the relevant department. Following the incident, we also felt uncomfortable when some staff appeared to look over and talk among themselves as we sat down at Seasons. We cannot know what was being said, but the situation left us feeling uneasy rather than welcome. Guests paying for a luxury all-inclusive holiday should not have to chase missing food or feel uncomfortable about ordering food that is included in their stay. A simple apology, attentive service and proper follow-up would have gone a long way towards putting matters right. Basic cleanliness and attention to detail Other aspects of the resort also fell short of the standards we expected. On one occasion at Fresco, the table was so sticky that our arms actually stuck to it when we rested them on the surface. This was unpleasant and completely at odds with the dining experience we expected at a luxury resort. We also noticed grubby marks on the sunbed cushions around the pool. We appreciate that no hotel can be perfect, but cleanliness in restaurants and pool areas should be a basic standard, not something guests have to question. We also missed the cold towel welcome that we had received on our previous Ikos holidays. On its own, this may seem a small detail, but it is precisely these thoughtful touches that help distinguish a luxury experience from an ordinary one. Taken together, these issues left us questioning the consistency of the standards being maintained throughout the resort. The handling of our complaints was particularly disappointing We raised our concerns directly with the hotel and subsequently discussed our experience with Michael, the duty manager. We appreciate the personal efforts he made and acknowledge that the hotel offered some goodwill gestures in an attempt to make amends. However, these gestures did not undo what had happened or change the fact that we had spent the beginning of our holiday chasing the hotel over problems that should never have arisen in the first place. We wanted to feel that our concerns had been fully understood, taken seriously and dealt with properly. Instead, we remained disappointed by the overall handling of the situation. The issue was not simply the presence of defects or an occasional service mistake. It was the lack of urgency, the absence of proactive communication and the need for us to pursue matters ourselves. At this level of the luxury market, we expected a much more reassuring and professional response. A stark contrast with Ikos Aria and Oceania Our previous stays at Ikos Aria and Ikos Oceania gave us confidence in the brand. We returned expecting the same quality, attention to detail and personal service. Instead, our experience at Andalusia has seriously shaken that confidence. At Aria, we had felt that if something went wrong, someone would take ownership, follow it through and ensure we were looked after. During this stay, we did not experience that same level of reassurance. The difference between our previous Ikos holidays and this one was significant. It is precisely because we have experienced the brand at its best that we find this stay so difficult to accept. Was this the luxury holiday we paid for? We were not expecting perfection. We were expecting the standards promoted by the Ikos brand and the level of care we had experienced on our previous visits. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met. The combination of room defects, the electrical socket concern, the recurring shower-door problem, the dining incidents, cleanliness issues and the lack of proactive follow-up made this a holiday that fell well below the experience we had paid for. The hotel made some goodwill gestures, and we acknowledge that. However, we left feeling that the overall impact of our experience had not been adequately recognised. For a resort positioned at this level of the luxury market, clean and properly maintained accommodation, attentive service and prompt action when problems are reported should be basic expectations, not exceptional requests. Our conclusion We have stayed at Ikos four times. We have returned because our previous experiences were excellent, and we had every reason to expect another wonderful holiday. Instead, we left Ikos Andalusia feeling let down by a brand we had previously trusted. We hope management will reflect carefully on our experience. This review is not simply a list of individual complaints; it is about the overall standard of our holiday and how our concerns were handled after we gave the hotel the opportunity to address them directly. We know what Ikos is capable of delivering, because we have experienced it at Aria and Oceania. This is precisely why our stay at Andalusia has been so disappointing. We have experienced the level of luxury, service and attention to detail that made us return to the brand four times. Sadly, this holiday fell significantly short of those standards. Having stayed with Ikos four times, it is particularly disappointing to say that, based on this experience, we would not recommend Ikos Andalusia to others seeking the level of luxury and service we had previously come to expect from the brand.

Very luxurious experience. Making memories with family. Looked after amazingly by staff who are all so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.

We’ve just returned from an amazing stay at Ikos Andalusia in Estepona, and we genuinely didn’t want to leave! From the moment we arrived, everything about our holiday felt special. We stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite with Sea View, which was absolutely beautiful. The room was spacious, luxurious and spotlessly clean, and waking up to that gorgeous sea view every morning was simply wonderful. The food and drinks were fantastic. The choice and quality across the resort were exceptional, and every restaurant offered something different and special. We’ve stayed in plenty of all-inclusive resorts over the years, but Ikos really does take the concept to another level. The service throughout was also first class. But there is one very special person we have to mention — Fatima from the Deluxe Collection team. Fatima was simply amazing. From the moment we met her, she went completely above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she somehow managed to make everything feel effortless. Whether it was arranging something for us, checking that everything was OK or simply making time to ask how we were enjoying our holiday, she was always there. What really stood out was that it never felt like it was simply her job. Fatima genuinely cared. Her warmth, kindness, professionalism and incredible attention to detail made us feel truly looked after from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. She made our holiday seamless, and we honestly believe she is a tremendous asset to Ikos. People like Fatima are what turn a great holiday into a truly memorable one, and we sincerely hope the Ikos Group recognises just how special she is. To everyone at Ikos Andalusia — thank you for giving us such a wonderful holiday. And to Fatima in particular — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You made such a difference to our stay and we will certainly remember you. We arrived as guests and left feeling like we had been genuinely looked after by people who cared. Ikos Andalusia has definitely won us over, and we will be back. ❤️ If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate — book it! You won’t be disappointed.
