Bordoy Don Antonio

We visited the hotel last week as a family of 7. 4 adults and 1 small child. We found the reception staff on the whole very welcoming but were disappointed to not receive any offer of help with our luggage. Especially for my elderly parents who we had to help get up the steep hill to their room. After accessing the situation for the week, and deciding that the hill to the room would be be too much for them, we asked at reception if they could move to a room in a block closer to the reception. We were told that the hotel was full, but given an alternative route to the room, which was longer but more accessible. You are given pool towels on arrival but you can only change them for clean ones every other day, again back at reception. The walk into the town is 10 minutes maximum, and is all down hill. This is fine for those able, although there is a shuttle bus from the hotel during certain times, back and forth. During peak season, I didn’t think the bus times were acceptable and I would have expected them to be more frequent. The bus only seats 8, and so if you are not first in line, you have to wait for it to come back. On one occasion my parents were refused a lift because it had gone past a certain time and the queue was too big. Getting taxis is almost near impossible. We asked reception to order us a taxi to their Port. They called three times to book us a taxi, for it never to show up. In the town there are certain taxis that only go to certain destinations and won’t deviate from that. My advice would be to plan far in advance if you want to leave the resort. The resort itself is very clean. There is a small splash pool for young children, another children’s pool and then a larger pool for older children and adults. All very clean and lovely. We spent most of our time here, having a small child. The bonus was that there were never any struggles for sun beds. No one seemed to rush to get a bed, or reserve them at an ungodly hour! The rooms were cleaned daily and to a very high standard. The food is hit and miss. Breakfast was ok, lunch was very basic but dinner was lovely, with lots of choice. We ate at the pool bar one lunch, but you do have to pay for this as it is NOT included with the all inclusive option. This food was exceptional. The all inclusive option is limited. No branded drinks and you have to pay for branded ice creams etc. There was an incident whereby we asked for a Jack Daniel’s whiskey. We knew we had to pay for it. Having had it before on a previous night, and being a bit of a whiskey expert, we knew we had been given the standard Spanish whiskey. When we asked if it could be changed, they refused and said we were wrong. It was not professional and rather embarrassing. Entertainment is poor. Our daughter is only 5, but I think for older children and adults, it would be very boring and the quality is poor. Again for high season and a chain hotel, I would expect more. There is no kids club or any kids entertainment, even though this was advertised before we arrived through Jet2. On the whole, in our opinion, this hotel is a 3 star. The big tick for us, was how well kept and clean it all was. It really is beautiful. Unfortunately the other things let it down massively. Some staff (not all) were rude and argumentative and it sometimes made things awkward for us, to the point we felt unwelcome. We wouldn’t return to the hotel but would recommend it for couples who are looking for a quiet break with no entertainment and can easily access the town etc.

Our stay at Hotel Bordoy Don Antonio was mixed. We enjoyed some aspects of the experience, but there were also several areas that could be improved, particularly for a hotel advertised as four-star. The staff were generally polite, although the welcome could have been warmer. When we arrived, there were no welcome drinks, and we were not greeted with a smile. English-speaking guests may also wish to bear in mind that most visitors during our stay appeared to be German, so communication may occasionally be less straightforward. Lunch was the weakest meal. While it was not entirely poor, some dishes were served cold, the choice was limited, and certain items appeared to be pre-prepared rather than freshly made. The selection did not quite meet our expectations of a four-star hotel. Breakfast and dinner, however, were considerably better, offering hot food, a good range of options and generally enjoyable dishes. There was no entertainment on Tuesday evening, which made the atmosphere feel rather quiet. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were also cooler than expected, so we did not find them especially inviting. The hotel may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues, as it is located on a hill and involves a considerable amount of walking around the property. There is also no bellboy service so you’ll have to drag your suitcases up a hill then to a lift to get to your hotel room. We found this extremely taxing and wouldn’t recommend it for those with poor mobility. I also was very frustrated with them providing my partner and I with two single beds push together. To make matters even worse— the single beds were hard as a rock and extremely uncomfortable so we didn’t enjoy our sleep at all. A special mention goes to Conchi, who worked at both the indoor and outdoor bars. She was warm, friendly and helpful, and a real credit to the hotel. Her service made a particularly positive impression. Overall, we enjoyed parts of our stay and would rate the hotel 6 out of 10. With improvements to the welcome, lunch service, evening entertainment and pool temperatures, the experience could be stronger. Although we would not choose to stay again, we recognise that the hotel situated in a quiet corner that overlooks the sea with nothing to do in the evenings.

Fantastic hotel , mainly used by German families but we were made welcome as an English couple. The rooms are very comfortable with lovely modern decor and great AC ( which was needed in the heat of July/August) The surrounding gardens and pool areas are very pretty and kept well ( no loud music pumping out ) Situated on a hill about a 15 min walk into town/beach quite steep walk back in the heat but a free shuttle is provided during the day . The staff were polite and friendly, very helpful and breakfast was included. We would definitely recommend this hotel and be happy to stay again.

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at Hotel Bordoy Don Antonio and had a fantastic time! We travelled as a family of 9, including 3 children. There are three outdoor pools, one of which is a splash pool for children along with an additional indoor pool. We never had trouble finding a sun bed which is a rarity on these types of holidays! The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The restaurant food was always hot and refreshed multiple times during our sitting. Some points to note are: The hotel does not have an on-site mini market, which we think would be a HUGE benefit to guests and would make the hotel a lot of money. Whilst Lidl is only a 10 minute walk away, the hotel is located at the top of a steep hill which may be difficult for elderly or young children. The main pool (160cm) does not allow infants in swim nappies, however they have use of the splash pool and the 100cm second pool. There is a shuttle into Peguera at 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00 & 17:00 which is free and via an 8 seater mini bus. Overall the trip was fantastic and I cannot fault the hotel staff!
