Globales Cala Viñas

I really wanted to "big up" this wonderfully situated hotel on the Cala Vinyas coast but more and more niggling things happened as the week went on. No doubt this is a wonderful place to be.....the minute you walk in you can't help head straight over to floor to ceiling windows to marvel at the sea ahead and the pool below. We booked a standard room and were pleased to have a sitting room with a TV as well as our bedroom with a balcony (room 1101) Enjoyed the view of the village ahead...watching the kiddies sneaking into the hotels sport court for ball games and the local business people trying to park every morning! Also great view of the mountains and Magaluf Bay. We went all inclusive and, although the temperature of the food was hit and miss, we always found something for the evening meal. Breakfast is easy wherever you stay as there is something for everyone everywhere. The bar near the pool was the only one open during the day so got quite busy, but the staff were always upbeat and efficient. Although the rooms have kettles etc it would have been nice to have the tea and coffee machines working at lunch and evening in the dining room. The rooms are very very tired....and talking to guests who have been visiting for years, it seems nothing is ever changed. Our floor tiles were curling up at the sides, my headboard had a tear in it, the shower drain hadn't been emptied for a while as the floor flooded everytime we showered and there was a decidedly foisty smell in the wardrobes. These are things the room attendants should pick up on. I also noted a couple of toilets in the public areas that didn't have working locks.....so annoying. The sofa bed had such a strong chemical spray smell (which made me cough each time I walked in) it made me wonder what it was hiding!!! We enjoyed sitting around the pool, walking over to the beach and swimming back to the hotel (the water was much warmer than the pool!) and walking around the village and the 20 minute walk to Magaluf for a bit of shopping. The reception staff were very helpful, unlike the duty manager I approached (discreetly) at breakfast when I found a black hair in my porridge and told me to "wait" then dashed off - never to return! I did keep giving the place the benefit of the doubt but my husbands food poisoning on our last night was the thing that tipped my feeling to the place deserving a mediocre score. This was the end of the season but even so, we'd all payed good money. Oh be aware....the standard rooms have no sun whatsoever (not sure if it's because it's October) and no upgrade was available.

This is not a 4 star hotel. The hotel looks nice, scenery lovely. Indoor heated Pool was freezing cold, the Jacuzzi hot tub was freezing cold. How can this be when it clearly states heated this is incorrect and lots of guests were complaining but again hotel Staff were not bothered when you told them, The food in restaurant even when they had cooked and placed on plate was not even warm. Told staff numerous times about it being cold was told will tell the chef, but there was different chefs actually cooking the food and not one chef had temperature guage to see the tempersture when placing on your plates and lots food was placed on trays that were also cold so when you was picking ot up with tongs was already cold, lots of food was left on plates and wasted. Unfortunately unless you wanted to walk or attempted to ask for a taxi you are stuck there and this was being told by the TUI reps and also if rains then taxi's dont even turn up. There is only local spar shops for snacks no other places around for places to eat food. Noticed everyone was getting up early and placing towels on the outdoor loungers so they got their spaces everyday, even when they went to their rooms of for something to eat they were left. Its a shame they dont have certain areas for smokers because no matter where you went to sit by the pool you was getting constant cigarette and vape smoke in your face, even smoking vapes inside the hotel but staff ignored them. The bar staff upstairs were all lovely and chatty. Went into the cave and had a drink in there which was lovely hearing the sea and seeing the beautiful lights they had inside. Was beautiful when it was dark.

Brilliant stay staff very helpful will stay again. Food was varied and very good. Entertainment in the lounge bar was excellent, however the Pool bar entertainment could be improved.

We stayed here for a short break & was very impressed by the cleanliness & staff working at this hotel. We were made to feel very welcome & nothing was too much trouble. The selection of foods & drinks on offer was very impressive. The pool area was kept so clean & tidy. The bar staff are very friendly & professional & the entertainment team were also really good & did as much as they could even though it was very quiet at the time we visited. I would definitely recommend this hotel & would go back myself.

had the best experience and service from all staff but most of all bibi at the v.i.p bar always has a smile and very helpful and friendly could not do more for us and because of this we will definitely be coming back thank you bibi from your Scottish friends and cannot wait to have the same experience next time he is a legend.
