Globales Cala Viñas

My review is based on solo travel, which is more expensive per person than if in a couple, so reflects the price I paid. It is worth booking a sea view, the view is stunning. The hotel is very clean and a quiet location, not a lot in the area, but that is what I wanted. There is a bus that takes you in to Palma in around 45 mins, which is worth the trip. The hotel rating of 4 stars is a little misleading, in my view it is a decent 3 star hotel. The drinks included in the all inclusive package are not great quality, I paid additionally for a decent glass of wine and coffee. The all inclusive cocktails are very cheap mixers. The wine I purchased was very reasonably priced and very good. There was a lot of food, but nothing that would wow you, it was a standard buffet, not the greatest quality ingredients and an odd mix sometimes. An a la carte option would have been nice for an evening. It is all self service, including drinks in the food area. The bar is actually the lobby, again a fantastic view. Whether I would recommend depends on the price, if you get a good deal as a couple then go for it, but as a solo traveller there are probably better options.

We have stayed at a Globales property before but it was on the other side of Mallorca. As we were only travelling for 3 nights we wanted something closer to the airport. Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Great range of food on the all inclusive package in the restaurant. Something for everyone. Adults only hotel which was great for us. If I could change anything it would be to have an outdoor dining space but this is not possible at this hotel. It is also a 25 min walk to Magaluf if you want nightlife or to do some shopping. The small cove is sheltered and safe with a small sandy beach. The hotel has a car park and charges 10 euros a night. We parked on the road close by instead. Lovely sunny aspect all day in the sea view side of hotel which is most rooms. I would recommend.

We visited this hotel two years ago and were genuinely shocked by how much the quality had deteriorated since our previous stay. It was a really disappointing experience and I would struggle to consider it a 4-star hotel based on what we experienced. The rooms are clean, comfortable but very basic - the sea views are amazing it’s definitely worth paying extra for this room! (That was the only saving grace). The spa was completely closed for the duration of our stay, while parts of the indoor pool were taped off. Not great for October stays where the weather can be changeable. The lifts were out of service which was frustrating. The food was another major letdown. It was often warm rather than hot, with dishes either undercooked or overcooked. There were fruit flies around the food and there was no tea or coffee available in the restaurant at lunch or dinner. (We only ate in the restaurant once for dinner and once at lunch). My partner only ate there for breakfast once and not at all for lunch / dinner. The snack food was inedible - chicken tenders are actually nuggets of some kind - not chicken, terrible quality. Burger is not a beef burger - terrible quality (mushy). Cheese and ham toastie on a burger bun not bread? We gave up in the end and spent most of our time away from the hotel. The all-inclusive drinks were equally disappointing. Cocktails were premixed and of very poor quality and the servings were so small that guests were constantly having to return to the bar for refills. Cheap wine. Cheap beer. You needed tokens for the outside pool bar but staff didn’t return the tokens when you brought the cups back so you had to go to get more. This became frustrating rather than enjoyable. What made matters worse was the attitude of some staff when we raised concerns. We felt our complaints were dismissed rather than taken seriously. There was a general impression that all inclusive guests were viewed as an inconvenience rather than paying customers who had booked what should have been a premium service. Taken together, the poor food quality, limited facilities, maintenance issues, disappointing drinks and lack of customer care made this a very disappointing stay. The decline in standards was particularly noticeable because we had visited before and knew what the hotel had previously been capable of delivering. Sadly, we left feeling that the hotel no longer offered the quality or value we would expect, probably would not return which is a shame
