Honestly, I really don't know where some of these bad reviews are coming. Pros: Great location, close to both the beach and bus stops. Very good food. Excellent staff at reception, in the restaurant, and at the bar — with one exception: an older lady with short dark hair at the pool bar (name starting with 'C') who didn't seem happy with her job and even took away straws when asked for them :D The pool is a good size with plenty of sun loungers, and the whole place is very clean. Convenient check-out at 12:00 PM. Cons: No kettle in the room, which is a problem if you need boiled water in the morning for medication. Long queues for drinks during breakfast, even in October. Extra €15 fee per room to extend stay/use facilities (check-in is from 2:00 PM). return - Yes!

We stayed 1st-8th October 2026. Having read the reviews we were worried but, as it turned out, for no good reason. We have stayed in all-inclusive hotels for over 20 years and the food in the Mimosa is amongst the best we have encountered. My wife is a fussy eater but was praising the food quality and taste at almost every meal. The chicken curry was to die for. The pork loin in peppercorn sauce was amazingly good. The theme dinners were fun. Paella was always good. The staff were friendly and worked really hard. The room we had on the 5th floor was very clean and was serviced daily (you don’t get that in all hotels). The lifts are small and always busy so that is a down-side but we are fit enough that 5 floors of stairs is not a huge inconvenience. We did not have any issues with late night noise, it was really quiet all night. The air con worked perfectly and was easy to adjust. The shower was great. The entertainment was average but as we tend to walk lots and explore the area we are not night owls and there is loads going on in town if late night entertainment is your thing. The only real downside for us was the queues for the bar in the evening - the token thing is OK, a bit odd but not hard to understand. However the waits were excessive - at some points I counted 24 people in the queue with a single member of staff serving. The larger man with glasses seemed more interested in pottering about moving stuff around the bar than supporting his colleague and serving when queues were long. When he wasn’t on duty whoever was was serving with their colleague to bring the queue down. We previously came to this same hotel 3 years ago and the evening queue was an issue then - it nearly stopped us booking this time and will probably stop us next time - a 15-20 minute wait in a queue for a drink is not acceptable on holiday. But apart from that gripe it was all good. Sun loungers always available, food great, drink quality good (the beer is Mahou, the Cava is comparable to a decent Prosecco and the Cola is genuine Pepsi not a rip off). Sort the evening drinks queue out and this would be a 5 star recommendation, but for now I have to make it just 4.

Great selection of food, hotel is clean, staff friendly, loads of sunbeds. We had interconnecting rooms, air con worked well in both rooms. Close to beach, walked to Katmandu Park and took short taxi ride to Western Water Park. There is a bit of queuing for drinks at the bar at night. If I had to make a negative point it would be the lifts, very slow and doors close very quickly, saw a few people nearly getting trapped. All in all, fab hotel, will definitely return!

Unfortunately, our recent week long stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and, in our opinion, nowhere near the standard you would expect from a 4 star all inclusive hotel. We arrived around an hour before check in and were told that, if we wanted to use the all-inclusive facilities before 2pm, we would have to pay an additional 15 euros each. Otherwise, we were expected to sit and wait until 2pm, meaning we had to purchase our own drinks from the bar in the meantime. This really wasn’t the welcoming start to a holiday that we expected. Throughout the week, we found a lot of the hotel and bar staff to be extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. Asking for a drink often felt like an inconvenience, as though the drinks were coming directly out of the staff’s own pay packets. On several occasions, drinks were made incorrectly and when we politely explained what we had actually ordered, the cup was snatched away with a huff. This happened more than once and made us feel very uncomfortable. There was also a two-token system per guest for all-inclusive drinks. We completely understand the reason for having a system like this to prevent people taking advantage, however, after accidentally losing two tokens, we were charged €2 to replace it. Again, it felt unnecessarily petty and added to the general feeling that guests were constantly being monitored and reprimanded. The overall atmosphere felt more like being back at school than being on holiday. We were repeatedly made to feel as though we were children being told off rather than paying guests. One particularly uncomfortable incident involved the guests staying next door. At around 11pm, they began banging on our wall while we were simply talking at a low volume in our room. The following day, they came directly to our room and told us, “You need to be quiet.” We went to reception afterwards, expecting the hotel to deal with the situation appropriately. Instead, we were told that we should have reported it immediately or dialled 9 on the room phone. We were never told this information at check-in and there was no obvious information in our room explaining this procedure. The way we were spoken to and hurried away made us feel like we were the ones in trouble. The pool situation was another example of inconsistent and overly strict treatment. My daughter was told to leave the pool because she was using a lilo, despite there being other young people in the pool throwing balls and splashing other guests. We later saw other people using lilos without being asked to leave. When we raised this with reception, we were essentially told to politely ask the lifeguard if the pool was quiet enough for her to use it. Once again, we felt as though we were being treated like children. The lifeguard was also incredibly rude and unwelcoming. The dining situation was particularly poor. There is only one restaurant, which meant that it became extremely overcrowded and finding a table was often a nightmare. Tables were not cleared quickly enough and cutlery was not consistently replaced. On several occasions, I asked staff for knives and forks and was virtually ignored. For an all-inclusive hotel, this was incredibly frustrating. There were also long queues for drinks, particularly as there was only one bar operating around the pool and one bar open at night. The pool area only opened at 10am, which seemed to create an unnecessary buildup of people waiting to use it in the morning. Housekeeping was another disappointment. During our entire week, the bedding was only changed once. I know this because earlier in the week I accidentally got a tiny amount of makeup on the bedding, and the mark remained there for the rest of our stay. It appeared that the bedding was simply being pulled back into place rather than properly changed. Most concerning of all, we saw cockroaches on the floor around the dining hall and reception area. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel advertising itself as 4-star. Ironically, the best part of our holiday was going out of the hotel for food and drinks, despite the fact that we had specifically paid for an all-inclusive holiday and should not have needed to do this. Overall, the hotel felt incredibly poorly managed, overcrowded and unnecessarily strict. The constant rules would perhaps be understandable if the service and facilities were exceptional, but unfortunately they were not. The attitude of many members of staff made us feel unwelcome throughout the stay, and the inconsistent enforcement of rules only added to the frustration. This hotel simply did not feel like a 4-star experience. We have stayed in many hotels before and have never felt so uncomfortable asking staff for something as simple as a drink. Unfortunately, you couldn’t pay me to return.

I have just returned from a 3 night stay with my daughter. I don’t normally leave hotel reviews but felt I needed to for this one. In my opinion this hotel doesn’t warrant 4 star status. We paid quite a lot for 3 nights and didn’t feel it was good value. The charge for the safe is €11..50 per night, which is extortionate. There is no kettle in the room. There are no pool towels. The token system for drinks was a bit ridiculous. There were no water stations, so you had to use your tokens to get water from the bar. The pool is only open between 10.00am and 6.00pm, which means you can’t even lie on a sunbed before 10.00am. The pool is actually cordoned off at 6.00pm on the dot. The staff were quite rude and didn’t seem very happy. On the plus side, we were only there for 3 nights and the food was good. The hotel is in a good location, Palma Nova is lovely and we had a great time.
