HM Gran Fiesta

Transparent review of HM Gran Fiesta. I booked a 5 night stay for our first family holiday with our 6 month baby. Two days before we were due to check in, I amended the booking to two nights and found further accommodation for the remaining stay. It meant a hefty alteration fee, which was upsetting, but I did this based on the reviews which was quite scathing around hygiene and safety. I couldn’t cancel the whole booking so 2 nights I thought would be OK. Given it was our first trip with my baby I didn’t want to risk anything. I was nervous as what to expect and to my pleasant surprise I need not have worried. I write this review particularly for families travelling with small children. I found the hotel to be very hospitable, hygienic and a perfect visit for our family vacation. The pros: 1. The staff were so friendly. There was a particular lady at breakfast who would welcome us and spend time talking to our daughter in such a sweet caring manner. The Assistant Manager Alberto also kindly extended our check out time so we could spend time on the rooftop pool side, as it had been closed in the afternoons for private events. That was a much appreciated gesture. Also when hungry in the evening as we hadn’t had dinner, a guy from the reception team gave us some apples. 2. We were given a cot for the baby (free of charge) and although she didn’t use it at night, it was good for day time chill. 3. The room we booked was spacious, enough for all our luggage, the cot, and space to walk around. The balcony was also great for us to chill on when baby was asleep in the room. Bathroom is a decent size too. 4. The lounge areas are beautifully designed with gorgeous ocean views. Whether chilling on the rooftop pool or inside the lobby area, there was a sense of relaxation. There’s also an ATM in the lobby and water refreshments. 5. The location of the hotel sits on the promenade but away from the bust party side of the area. Close to good restaurants and a bus into town… The Improvements: 1. I’m big on quality of the food, although there was a range of food at breakfast. I found the hot buffet food to be average and lukewarm… the pastries were good and coffee decent. And they serve prosecco which seemed to be a hit with guests 2. The lifts are an issue, they are tiny and fitting a pram in there is tricky - especially if you’re making several trips to your room. The Sky bar lift is slightly bigger, so we stuck to that mainly but you have to be prepared to wait sometimes 5-7 minutes. 3. The pools. Both the outdoor pools were too cold to use. As an adult even tipping my feet in was too cold. I was looking forward to having my baby swimming but it wasn’t possible. I would suggest making one at least warmer. The indoor pool also seems out of use -it was closed off and look in need of some TLC. Overall, if I were to be in that side of Mallorca again, I would stay at this hotel and probably skip the breakfast.

This hotel has a lovely aesthetic, stylish lounge and its rooftop bar (Sky Bar) is very impressive. The service from staff is also very good. The Assistant Manager in particular was very accommodating in allowing us an extended checkout so we could enjoy the Sky Bar as it was booked out for a private event the day prior. Overall a very pleasant stay though I would say the food was a bit average.

Poor service at reception and maintenance when asked for help we asked for aircon to be fixed and they stuck a stick in electric point I do have a picture , I then got electrocuted by the hairdryer and when reported the reception staff were not helpful at all , the restaurant staff we’re ignorant and unfriendly , we were put in hotel by British airways when our flight was cancelled the hotel staff just seemed to find this inconvenient and treated us all very abruptly and didn’t seem to like that we were there , the restaurant service was appalling and so was the maintenance staff and when trying to speak to reception they just didn’t seem bothered at all I would never stay here again under any circumstances and have advised a friend to change her hotel

Located on the beachfront. Great location. Hotel itself is clean and tidy albeit rooms slightly small but cleaned every day. Our balcony overlooked the pool with a side view of the sea.air conditioning i have since found out is managed centrally so dont try managing it yourself in the room. Privacy between the shower and bedroom is a frosted sheet of glass. Tea and coffee with kettle available but no milk provided. Pool didn't open until around 9.30 to 10 and is cordoned off so you cant get a sunbed prior to that either apart from a few outside the cordon. Needless to say there is a mad rush when the cordon is taken away Also closes around 5.30-6 so if you want to chill out until later you need to go to the beach. Noise from hotel next door was loud most nights so although this hotel is relatively quiet you have to contend with that until late at night. Infinity pool is purely a gimmick. Not enough sunbeds unless you get up there as soon as it opens. Indoor pool and jacuzzi as far as I could tell were never cleaned. Only saw outdoor pool cleaned once and some beds and parasol bases had bird droppings and human hair on them. Not very pleasant. Buffet breakfast was good with a lot of choice but repetitive. Breakfast staff and housekeeping staff need medals. Reception staff very helpful. Bar staff unfriendly. Overall a nice hotel but more a 3 than 4 star

The hotel was very clean and quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay.
