Iberostar Selection Llaut Palma

I am writing this review for my elderly parents with their permission, in their words. They felt strongly that they needed to express their thoughts and concerns There are some positives. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Room allocated was spacious and very well presented. Bed very comfortable. TV at the bottom of the bed felt insecure and fragile which worried them, especially after asking for over €300 euro security deposit. My parents are in their 80's so unlikely to trash a room. Also this hotel is a five star so unlikely to attract disruptive customers. Pool area and sunloungers very comfortable, although pool was cold. Main negatives. As an all inclusive hotel, which allowed 15 alcoholic drinks per day, the way they distributed the drinks was bizzare. It appeared you could only have the drinks in certain areas. As a example, you could have a drink with your main meal, but if you wanted a drink whilst watching the evening show, you had to pay, even if you had not consumed your allocated drinks. Now my dad is T total, and my mum likes the occasional wine, so not heavy drinkers, but to be told where and when you can have your drinks is bizzare. They understood the rules in relation to alcohol, but surely that should apply if it's included or if you pay for it. You could have 6 pints/cocktails if you pay, no questions asked. Buffet in certain areas was closed as hotel "under occupancy". Everything arranged via a app. This could be a fantastic hotel, if the management would consider the above points. Would not return unfortunately. Very expensive hotel, which falls short of good customer service

The hotel was nice. The location however was a huge let down. German Benidorm was what we arrived into. Not a place to have a 5 star.

Excellent hotel with wonderful staff. We were welcomed by Marc & Julian who sat us down with a glass of fizz. This became a regular occurrence every time we saw Marc in reception he wanted to give us a glass! Lovely guy and he came out to give our tour driver ( booked independently) the once over before we left which we thought was a lovely touch. The food in the restaurant for breakfast & dinner was excellent and some of the best we have enjoyed on our travels. No standing at coffee machines as coffee was ordered and brought to the table. Our room was spacious and modern but not really suitable for 3 ladies sharing due to privacy issues. Bath & sink in room and shower & toilet with glass doors ( partly glazed but not ideal) we had an issue with the sofa bed which was very uncomfortable but this was sorted by Blanca their lovely customer service manager. The Star Prestige area on the top floor was lovely and we were brought treats like ice lollies and fresh fruit cocktails. It is a shame the hotel is in a predominantly German area frequented by large groups of men drinking to excess and chanting noisily. We used taxis to go into Palma as we didn't like the beach area because of this. Overall a great stay.

Despite all the 5 star reviews, we would definitely NOT return to this hotel or area. We stayed in August 2025. The hotel was OK but not a 5 star or worth the money spent. Staff on the reception were extremely unhelpful and dismissive especially when checking in- we waited 3/4 hours for our rooms to be ready, which is unusual with our usual 5 star hotel experiences. No facilities or breakfast was explained on check in. The Spa was included in both our rooms 'wellness rooms' yet when asking about the spa facilities which the receptionist seemed to roll her eyes and said someone would be up to our room with a leaflet and a yoga mat, which turned out to be a glass frame with the spa opening times, not a brochure/leaflet or what we were expecting. So pretty pointless, the frame was also smeared with some sort of dirt. The AREA is also based upon what I could only describe as the GERMAN MAGALUF. Which isn't what you expect when coming into Spain. Nothing authentic about this area. Young germans who were extremely loud and drunk everywhere. Not a place where you would expect a '5 star hotel/spa' to be located. The location feels cheap and tacky and not one review mentions this.... which we found strange. As a family we were extremely disappointed in the location and avoided going down to the beach area because of this. The only bonus is that it is a short taxi ride to Palma- we also hired a car to go into Soller for the day which was great and more of what we were expecting. Lack of authentic Spanish restaurants in the area unless you are after 'bratwurst' or beers. Did not dine in the hotel for dinner. The breakfasts were really good in the hotel and the only bonus. Lack of atmosphere in the hotel, stayed for the entertainment one night and it was OK. The best entertainment we had at the hotel was actually a hotel guest playing piano who was great. Rooms were clean and spacious but had to constantly ask for coffee and milk to be replenished. Have had better experiences at a 3 star hotel- not worth the money.

We stayed for a 5 day break at the hotel,on arriving we were greeted by a lovely member of staff Marc who took our bags and gave us a lovely glass of fizz. Our room wasn't ready as we arrived before 3pm. Julian from check in sat us down explained regarding the hotel and its facilities. Our room was overlooking the pool area. Lovely size room balcony fab for chilling out on. We opted for half board you honestly couldn't fault the food it was fabulous and fresh every time. All the staff were so friendly always had a lovely smile. I probably wouldn't visit in April again especially start of the season. The weather was hitty missy but when it shone it shone. We will definitely revisit again the hotel had a lovely calming atmosphere and staff made our holiday experience fab.
