Iberostar Selection Llaut Palma

Please be aware the hotel has some extreme highs and extreme lows hence the 3 star review. Highs: welcome drink Luggage taken to room, and the baggage handler man ( I am so sorry I forgot your name!) He was the kindest most lovely member of staff I have come across. Room suite: spacious and clean and light. Lunch and evening food: lovely fresh and varied themes, lots of fish, duck, and varied meats. Extra: we went for our wedding anniversary and got given some macaroons and a bottle of fizz that was totally unexpected and kind. The 7th floor restaurant: some of the best sushi and food I have ever put in my mouth 10 out of 10 Vanessa who cleaned our room was fantastic and very thorough. Activities throughout the day: a nice touch and offers some changes to the usual hotel experiences Lows: This is not all inclusive, I understand the laws regarding alcohol limitations especially in the area that is overrunning with binge drinking, but they limit the 3 drinks at lunch and dinner to cheap beer sangria and apperol. No cocktails or spirits are included and anything a bit nicer is pay extra, I find this to be cheap and not worth the money. Oh and you will struggle to get 3 drinks per meal after the second drink I was never offered a third. Ordering drinks at pool bar: we paid for cocktails and they had been given to another couple, this was only resolved after we went up and physically showed our receipt. ( positive they did give us 2 more cocktails for free but it felt disorganised. I would recommend ordering via table qr codes via the app to prevent this. Sunbed hogging: even though there are signs people leave towels on loungers and don't return for hours I would recommend booking to be integrated into the iberostar app The area: the hotel does not suit the area, it's loud full of drunk German people and the walk ways our dirty, covered in broken glass and cigarette butt's, we didn't feel comfortable staying out for a long time, constantly bombarded with looky looky men, being asked into restaurants we didn't want to go to. Staff: some of the other cleaning staff laughed and snorted at us after saying good morning, I would also advise your staff not be rude in Spanish as some guests will understand I.e myself what they are saying. Being charged for drinks with evening meal when all inclusive, had I not checked the app we would have been charged it took me going up to the restaurant manager to have this removed. Maybe use different colour wrist bands to help? Check out: asked if we could extend to late checkout advised fully booked, not a problem it happens, advise we can use facilities until we leave, upon check out once that band around your wrist is removed out are invisible. After this fact we had been told no lunch for you, as you had it on the first day you arrived, no drinks unless you pay we had water. I have never felt so disregarded and used by a hotel after checkout of a room. The worst thing is while we had been waiting 4 and a half hours a new couple arrived and had been told they could pay extra on the last day for lunch and drinks this was never disclosed to ourselves. The only member of staff who treated us the same with or without the band was the baggage handling man who was a saint. Overall we have stayed in iberostar before but will likely not return to this hotel chain due to the inconsistent experiences we have had, it's such a shame.

We arrived and the welcome was fantastic, although no welcome drink was offered- not even a water. Our room was lovely- literally no complaints here, except the air con. It is set to 23 degrees ALWAYS. If you forget to adjust when you get back to your room you’ll be needing another cold shower by the time you’re ready for dinner. All inclusive is anything but. I understand laws and regulations. But I have paid for an all inclusive holiday but you’re only allowed only 3 drinks with lunch and 3 drinks with dinner. However, should you wish to have an alcoholic beverage whilst floating around the pool, this is fine providing you pay for it. Like, excuse me? The food over all has been just ok. We’ve never been for breakfast, but that just isn’t our thing. However, lunch outside at the pool bar was fantastic and the service was great. The evening buffet restaurant, a little concerning considering my husband found a screw in his pasta. Yes, a SCREW! Apparently this has fallen from the heat lamps it was under. Completely understandable explanation, however it should never have happened. This put us off eating at the hotel, understandably. We were asked for our room number as something ‘special’ would be put in our room as an apology. This never came… We then received a letter through our door saying they’d been trying to contact us and asked if we could go to reception to speak to someone about our stay. We went to reception in the morning but it was busy so went back at 3.30 when no one else was there only to be told ‘the manager is too busy to see you now, can you call back later’. Again, poor service after everything. We did hire push bikes from reception for €11 each and cycled to Palma along the coast which was amazing! Highly recommend. The hotel itself is lovely and the staff are great. But I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s definitely not a 5* in my opinion, I think it’s maybe just ticked the boxes necessary to get the 5* rating.

Wonderful hotel!!! We spent 3 nights here and can’t recommend it enough. All the staff are amazing and the food is outstanding. The hotel is spotless, the Spa is great and the rooms are lovely. We’ll definitely be back x

We stayed for a week at the end of August and had a lovely holiday.From checking in the staff couldn’t do enough for us, we were offered cava,fresh fruit on skewers and cold face cloths to freshen up which were gratefully received!The luggage was taken to our room by the very helpful porter who preceded to show us the technical information on the lights and air conditioning which turned out to be very good at keeping the room cool both day and night,it was very quiet too.The room was well equipped and we slept on the most comfortable hotel bed ever!Lovely bedding and pillows and a quiet room made for a good night’s sleep.Others had mentioned that the area could be noisy during the night but honestly didn’t find it so.The staff were very pleasant and couldn’t do enough for us.The food was of a high quality and was delicious with lots of different choices,each night is themed so we didn’t have the same meal twice.We had intended to eat out a few times but decided that we were enjoying the food too much!Tables outside the restaurant were our favorite as we could listen to the entertainment at the same time.Pool was a bit small and sunloungers were plenty full so never had a problem even in the afternoon.The rooftop bar is a lovely place to have a drink and watch the sun go down.Pool towels provided so no need to bring your own and the beach was only a few minutes away, turn right for loungers and parasols that have a safe to keep your belongings secure as you have to watch out for pickpockets!The beach to the left was very busy with young tourists who could be a bit noisy!Bus to Palma stopped outside the hotel and was only 2 euros each way also the Airport bus which is 5 euros each way and only takes 20 mins.We would definitely return to this beautiful hotel 😊

We’ve had a really nice stay at the Iberostar Selection Llaut Palma and I want to start by saying that this is a nice hotel with lovely staff, good food and a very relaxed atmosphere inside the hotel itself. This isn’t intended to be a “complain about everything” review as there are lots of positives. However, we feel that some of the information available when booking doesn’t necessarily give you a full picture of what the hotel and surrounding area are actually like, and if we had known some of these things beforehand, we probably would have chosen a different hotel. The positives: Check-in was excellent. We were greeted immediately with drinks, fruit and cold towels, and the staff explained the hotel and what was included with our Prestige Club package. Everyone we’ve encountered has been friendly and helpful. The food is genuinely very good, particularly in the evenings. Dinner has a different themed night each evening, which keeps things interesting, and there is fresh fish and meat cooked every night. There is a good variety and we’ve really enjoyed the evening meals throughout our stay. Lunch is nice but can become quite repetitive, although this may partly be because the hotel is very quiet at lunchtime. On some days there have been no more than around 10 tables occupied, as it seems that a lot of guests don’t stay all-inclusive. The hotel itself is also very peaceful and chilled. Despite being in a busy part of Playa de Palma, you don’t get the feeling of being in a noisy hotel once you’re inside. It’s quite the opposite — the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Drinks are reasonably priced if you are paying, with cocktails being around €9.50. There are also little touches which are lovely, such as the occasional sangria left in the room by housekeeping. A special shoutout to the staff: We also want to give a special shoutout to some of the staff in the dining area, who have been brilliant throughout our stay. They have been friendly, attentive and genuinely made us feel welcome. However, Jennifer, who runs the bar in the Star Prestige area, deserves a particular mention. She was absolutely fantastic and genuinely helped make our stay. She was constantly on it with offering us drinks and food, remembering what we liked and making sure we were looked after. Her service was exceptional and she was always so friendly and attentive. Staff like Jennifer really do make a difference to a holiday, and she deserves recognition for how hard she works. Things we think people should know before booking: The location is VERY lively. The hotel itself is quiet, but the surrounding area is a completely different story. Playa de Palma is extremely busy and, in our opinion, feels a bit like “German Benidorm”. There are lots of bars, people drinking and entertainment going on around the hotels. If you’re expecting a quiet, sophisticated area because you’re staying at an Iberostar Selection property, it’s worth being aware that the location doesn’t necessarily match that image. The biggest surprise for us was the all-inclusive drinks allowance. All-inclusive only covers three drinks at lunch and three drinks at dinner. This applies to beer, wine, sangria, cava and Aperol, for example. If you want a drink outside those meal periods, you have to pay for it. This may be perfectly acceptable to some people, but it wasn’t what we expected from an all-inclusive Prestige Club stay and is something we wish had been made clearer. The hotel is also very small. Again, this isn’t necessarily a negative, but it’s something to be aware of when choosing it. If you’re looking for a large resort with lots of pools, restaurants, bars and facilities, this isn’t that type of hotel. The wardrobes in our room were another issue. There isn’t a huge amount of storage and they aren’t full-length, meaning dresses and longer clothes don’t hang properly. We were told that the wardrobes can vary between rooms, so this may not apply to every room. We also upgraded from a regular Prestige room to a Prestige sea-view room, as all prestige rooms apparently come with a street facing view. Unfortunately, because of where this room is positioned at the end of the corridor and closest to the street, the noise was quite bad. We could hear entertainment performers from nearby hotels singing until around midnight, as well as significant road noise. It did settle down around midnight, but in the early hours we could still hear people shouting in the street. However the view was beautiful of the sea. This is particularly worth considering if you’re booking specifically for a peaceful sea-view room. The view itself was lovely, but the location of our particular room meant that it wasn’t as peaceful as we had hoped. Prestige Club: I think this is probably the area where expectations could differ the most. The Prestige “lounge” isn’t really a lounge in the traditional sense. It is essentially a small roped-off section of the hotel foyer with around six seats, some mini fridges stocked with drinks and a few snacks such as biscuits and apples. It’s perfectly pleasant, but if you’re paying extra for Prestige expecting a large private lounge with lots of seating, food and facilities, you may be disappointed. Also, despite being Prestige guests, you can’t sit in the Prestige area at lunchtime, which we found a little strange. Overall: We have enjoyed our stay and there are definitely things we love about this hotel — the staff are lovely, the food is good, the evening themed dinners and fresh fish and meat are a particular highlight, and the hotel itself is clean, modern and peaceful. However, we think it’s important to distinguish between the hotel itself and its location. Inside the hotel is calm and relaxing; outside is very busy and lively. For us, the main issue is that we don’t think the hotel’s marketing necessarily gives you a complete picture of the surrounding area, the small size of the hotel or exactly what Prestige/all-inclusive includes. If you want a small, quiet hotel where you can relax during the day and don’t mind being in the middle of a very lively tourist area, you may absolutely love it. If you’re looking for a larger luxury resort in a quiet, sophisticated location with a more substantial Prestige lounge and a more generous all-inclusive offering, I would probably look elsewhere. We’re glad we stayed and have had a lovely holiday, and the staff — particularly Jennifer — have genuinely made the experience better. But if we had known all of the above before booking, we personally would probably have chosen a different Iberostar property.
