Iberostar Selection Playa de Muro Village

I really enjoyed my stay at Iberostar Playa de Muro Village. The hotel was really nice, the food was incredible and there was always something to do. I had a lot of fun and met some really nice people there. The whole animation team was amazing, everyone was really friendly and made the days so much more fun. But I especially want to mention Iker. He really stood out to me because he was always so friendly, easy to talk to and somehow always managed to make me laugh and put me in a better mood. The activities were way more fun when he was around :) I had such a good time and I’m definitely going to miss this place. Thank you Iker for making my holiday even better!!

There is a lot to like, mostly related to the staff. Erica in the kids entertainment, Thomas doing evening kids football, Roberto cooking specials, Rosa by the pool and Claudia in the restaurant are all superb. Thank you to them for saving our holiday. But….this is not a 5* hotel despite the 5* prices. Location wise Tui describe it as being in a laid back area surrounded by the national park. In reality it is next to a busy road of traffic, bars and typical holiday tat and late night singing. It is built up not relaxed. The tennis court is like the worst municipal park court you’ll find. Beach and pool super busy, difficult to get a lounger. But I guess that is August for you. The kids club is only 2.5 hrs per day in the morning and the spa only opens the steam & sauna for adults in the afternoon, which therefore kind of makes that impossible to go to if you have kids. Food is for the most part good. There are certain parts that are excellent and 5* standard such as sone of the specials, but there is a lot more 3*. The food from the cafe which is provided if you arrive/leave outside of restaurant hours is outstandingly bad. Think airport food left on a counter for an hour or two. Last and most definitely least is the Tui experience. The transfer is 1hr 45mins not 1hr as stated - important consideration for people with young children. There is no human to speak to as it is all done via one of the worst apps ever invented and the phone line is the joy of automated multiple options and then at least a 10 min hold before you just give up. If you can get a good discount and you want a busy place of classic holiday bars etc this is might be worth a go. If like me you paid full school holiday prices, you’ll feel like you’ve been worked over by a laughing corporate middle manager from Tui who authorised the website dishonesty to hit his bonus this quarter.

We went as a family of 10 on the point of booking - June 2025 we asked for the 3 rooms together as this was 13 months in advance you would have thought this could be accomodated. I emailled as well as was asked to email again April this year 2026 which I did. I also emailled before we arrived and guess what? we turned up 6 Adults 4 small children to find out not only was our rooms not together but we were in a totally differnet block. After a lot of toing and froing with the TUI rep and hotel management they said to sleep in the rooms we had for first night and they moved us the next day. This was totally avoidable and as we were only there for a week it meant that we couldnt get unpacked and settled on the first day. The food was very good. The entertainment for the kids is tui bots which are kids could take or leave they prefer a minin disco and then straight after that they do a quiz which you have to do on your phones now considering you are on holiday and the idea is you spend quality time with your family why are all the adults on their phones? The children are not involved in this so they are just hangong about. We would not return to this hotel

It’s the 5th time we have been here but first since our daughter was diagnosed celiac. We were a little apprehensive around how the all inclusive menu would work. Not to worry the service has been fantastic. Candela, Andrea and the chefs at every meal explain what is gluten free and if there’s nothing Alana would like the cook something new for her. The service is exceptional thank you.

The beach was amazing!!! The staff was wonderful!! We had 2 family suites, one room was infested with ants the entire visit and both rooms had problems with the air conditioning and a sulfaric/gas smell that was unbearable that was coming from the air conditioning units. The hotel was completely booked, so they could not move our rooms, which we understood, but a 5 star resort should do something to remedy a situation like this.
