Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca

We had a fantastic holiday. The entertainment team was incredibly friendly, and there was always something to do throughout the day. The food at all the restaurants was delicious, and it was great that food was still available at the food trucks in the afternoon. Fortunately, we had booked a room in the main buildings; otherwise, it would have been a long walk to the pools, restaurants, and so on. Be sure to pay attention to this when booking! We would definitely come back here.

Never a 4 star 3 at best First room was dark and smelly of damp. Got moved as there was no way of sleeping in there. Complex was massive with no real mention of this from the add. Some people were saying the food was great but to me it was very poor and had to eat out every night. So many kids I would not recommend this for couple's as advertised,so stay clear if your looking for a quite holiday.

Unfortunately, this hotel fell well short of what I’d expect from a 4-star all-inclusive. In my opinion, it’s a low 3-star at best. It’s dated, extremely busy. Our room clearly hadn’t been prepared properly for three people. The third bed wasn’t made up, there were only two sets of towels, and the “sofa bed” was literally just a sofa rather than a pull-out bed. To top it off, there was a mouldy, rotten apple on the floor which wasn’t even cleared afterward housekeeping returned. Not exactly 4-star. The room itself was dated, with cracked floor tiles, wonky ceiling tiles and a phone that didn’t work. The air conditioning was also poor. Maintenance came out after we reported it, but he said it’s running at full strength, so there wasn’t much they could do. Unfortunately, it wasn’t effective enough. We were moved rooms and I understand a lot of other people were in the same situation. The hotel is huge and incredibly busy, with very little guidance. A proper hotel map to take away would be a huge improvement, as the app map isn’t particularly useful. If you’re not with kids, I would advise avoiding this hotel. The kids rule the place. Rooms are either tucked away in the more run-down areas or in noisy areas. And this hotel is NOT quiet. Even the supposedly quieter 11+/12+ areas have constant noise from people walking around, doors slamming and children crying. The walls have virtually no soundproofing. Bring earplugs! At lunch and dinner, you serve yourself drinks rather than having them brought to your table, and there’s no cocktail menu, so you’re left guessing what’s available. The plastic drink cups also had a really unpleasant damp smell, which certainly didn’t help. The positives The food was exceptional and easily the highlight of the stay. It was genuinely fantastic, even while listening to children crying around us. Alberto was also brilliant and deserves a special mention. Overall, I just don’t understand how this is considered 4-star. The condition, noise, organisation and general upkeep simply don’t match the rating. Great food, great help from Alberto, but unfortunately, never again. Also special shout out to Mara, she was great at the bar, only saw her once but she had such fun energy!

Great location and atmopher, lots of fun and family friendly activities. The amenities are great and the service too.
