Riu Playa Park

We stayed here for four days in early October, just my wife and me, and we really enjoyed our stay. We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel, as we spent two days exploring Palma and other parts of Mallorca. We did spend two full days at the resort and really enjoyed the pool area. My only suggestion would be regarding the pool temperature. At this time of year, especially in the morning and early afternoon, the pools were quite cold. I’m not sure if heated pools are common in Mallorca, but it would definitely be a nice addition. The rooms were super clean, comfortable, and fairly large. We tried both buffets in the evening and found the food very good, and we also tried the Peppe snack bar. We would love to come back in the summer of 2027, but we have two children, ages 12 and 13, and unfortunately the room policy may prevent us from returning as a family. I’m not sure why a family of four cannot stay in one room, as we have been able to do at other RIU resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico. Having to book two separate rooms would mean splitting up our family, which is something we are not keen on doing. Hopefully, this is something RIU might reconsider, as we would otherwise be very happy to return.

I just got back from this resort and I can't imagine why anyone would complain. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and we were lucky enough to get a room with a balcony that faced the pool area and we could see a bit of the stage as well. We were able to enjoy the nightly entertainment right from our room if we didn't feel like going down. The food...amazing!!! I have zero complaints and regularly enjoyed the buffet as well as the Spices restaurant and Pepe's. I know people complain about the limited drinks, but there were no lack of people willing to pay. And, if you don't want to pay bar prices, there are several corner stores where you can buy alcohol pretty cheaply and drink at your own leisure. Yes there are a lot of Germans, and if you research this area before you do, like we did, you won't be surprised or annoyed. In fact, they were giving a great vibe! They like to party, and it was honestly quite fun to watch. Things I didn't know before I went...if you are from Canada, you need an international driver's license to rent a car. I wasn't able to use my debit card to get cash, so I would advise getting Euros before you go. Overall, this resort was very nice, centally located and I would definitely stay again. This is my third year returning. Almost everything is excellent. I do have an issue with the price, as I—a customer of three years—ended up paying more than those who booked for the first time.

A short 4 night break away with my daughter. I had emailed asking if any swim up rooms were available for an upgrade and was asked to check when we arrived. We arrived earlier in the day and we were greeted by a lovely receptionist who took our details and gave us a complementary cocktail. When we checked in we had been given a complementary upgrade to a swim up room. It made our stay perfect. All the staff are lovely and the facilities clean. Buffet style food was great too. Always plenty of choice. The local area was busy and probably better for the younger generation. Beach was close by and beautiful. I stay in RIU hotels as often as I can, never had a bad stay
