Riu Playa Park

This was our first visit to this hotel, we were greeted with a nice smile and welcome drink. We were allocated our room and we were very happy with the location of the room and pool view . During our stay we found the staff were all very helpful and friendly. We were also very happy with the choice of food. The location of this hotel was very good but it is mainly a German area. We would return to this hotel in the future.

I went there as a family of 3 which included a toddler who loved running around the property. They have huge common areas which is great for toddlers to explore and the staff was very courteous and helpful. The location was excellent as beach was very nearby. Rooms were clean and food had a great variety. Overall very satisfied with our stay.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Riu Playa Park. We traveled as a family of 4 women. The youngest 16 and eldest 76. We all really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were great, food was very tasty and lots of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. We didn't experience any problems in getting sunloungers near the pools at any time of day. The beds near the larger main pool were taken first, however there was usually the odd few free. But we tended to opt for the smaller pool area. The rooms were cleaned daily and the hotel as a whole was very clean and tidy. As others have mentioned on their review the majority of guests are German, but this didn't bother us or lessen the enjoyment of our holiday. Odd times we could hear the young revellers in the street on their way home from a night out, but we were all young once! There are some large German bars further down the street, but far enough away they did not disturb us. Beds comfy and I had some good nights of sleep. Overall a really enjoyable holiday. Now for the diet to shed the weight gained from the fab food at the all inclusive!

I am writing this as a Brit who didn’t see many other Brits write a review before staying here. First note - it’s all German mainly with a super lively German strip yards from the hotel. Pros - hotel staff are probably some of the nicest staff I’ve ever experienced. They are super friendly. Quick, friendly and attentive. - sunbeds were easy to get daily. We spent every day on the terrace part, as we found this more quiet. - food was lovely in both restaurants - rooms were cleaned daily. The whole hotel was extremely clean. - the overall atmosphere in the hotel is nice and quiet mostly. A lot quieter than the lively strip outside. There are some moments where there’s a lot of people in the pool bar signing but this isn’t all day everyday. And seemed like they were just having a good time. - it is close to the beach and nice bars close by. There is also a couple shops right next to hotel for snacks etc. - if you walk to the beach front, turn right if you want more classy cocktail bars. It’s a lovely walk and much quieter Cons / Potential Cons for some people. - I seen some moans about the drinks all inclusive, wish isn’t ideal. However read before you book and you would know - if your a Brit who likes to be around other British people, this isn’t the place for you. Staff speak great English but you will be minority. We seen other British here but not many. But we didn’t mind. - the German strip. - we found this fun (very close to hotel) but it is rowdy and that isn’t for everyone. We could see the strip from our room and it wasn’t the quietest at night. Could have done with better sound proof doors. Majority was fine though. However a couple nights were woken up by rowdy German groups in corridor and room playing speakers on balcony at 3am, and no idea what else. First time this happens I told reception the next day and she said we must phone them if it happened again. Another night it did and I phoned reception and got no answer. This was a little disappointing but maybe that time the staff were busy. I don’t know. So if you have a family I wouldn’t really recommend it here cause of the potential other guests at night. Which is a shame. It was only a couple nights so was bareable. - the beach is close by and it lovely. However is let down abit by lots of Germans drinking on the path on the beach, it doesn’t smell the best and there’s a lot of litter cause of this. However there are cleaners every morning cleaning this up they work hard. Also there are ALOT of lucky lucky men. Never seen so many. But they didjt bother us. They were more interested in the big groups. If you say no thank you they are fine. Overall, we really enjoyed it. We would return more so for the gorgeous hotel and staff. I hope this helps others Brits who were unsure on whether they would come here.

First time at this Riu after visiting many properties in Mexico. Our room was fantastic. The attached pool was great during so many hot days. We loved it. The food was good at the buffet. The alcohol policy is a bit strange, but we were able to find what we needed at the many nearby markets. The location was bad for us, in the middle of a huge party zone and many tourist traps. It was not really “Spain” to us until we went into Palma, which is beautiful. As this is a European resort the service was very different than at Mexican properties. Bar, desk, and wait staff while courteous, were mostly unhelpful with modest requests. But that attached pool to our room was the high point of the trip. We’ll be back to RIU Mexico, but probably not Mallorca.
