THB El Cid

I’ve had a wonderful stay at the THB El Cid hotel. The location is perfect, just by the beach, but the tourists are not walking directly under your windows. It’s so easy to get from and to the airport. Someone could say the room decor is simple, someone would call it minimalistic, for me it was modern, with a nice balcony, comfortable bed and very spacious bathroom with combined shower and bathtub. Everything is very clean and the service is wonderful. Everyone was so kind and helpful. And then the restaurant - both the breakfast and the dinner are delicious, with an unbeatable value. Huge choice of food, from local specialities, thru really everything you can imagine and more. You can grab a table outside and enjoy dining with a view to the beach. Thank you for a very pleasant stay and I’ll be happy to visit you again.

Wonderful hotel, i have stayed many times and always had a perfect stay, staff are so freindly, rooms comfortable and modern, food tasty and great selection. Spotlessly clean. We were on a cycling holiday as are most guests in April and the hotel caters very well for cyclists in terms of bike room facilities and food choice. It feels like being home every time i stay and that says it all for me! All our group always have a great stay.

Excellent beach front location. However with the airport visible from the Palma side of the hotel there is noise and the smell of jet fuel sometimes. That side has a small side road but that is where the accessible oona are, we needed such a room so could not move. There is a lot of noise from traffic, deljvery vans and a burger bar. This side is in shade in April until around 4pm. So room stays cool but no sun bathing on the balcony! Bus stop to city is 500m. No air con, not the season apparently, despite it reaching high 24° this week. So we had to have the balcony door open, and that meant noise! Staff excellent. Pool freezing. Lacking atmosphere, more polite convenience. Lots of cycling or air crew groups. Beds sooooo comfy. Breakfast buffet excellent, food well made and wide range, attentive staff.. Disabled exit door needs to be made automatic, it's heavy and tricky for a carer, a solo person would struggle. Accessibility is good in room, bathroom good except floor tiles sooo slippy despite four floor mats they supply made of paper. The area has a range of the same cheap shops and cafes or restaurants. We paid €50 for two with a main and one round of soft drinks. Most mains are €15-20.

Stayed with my daughter for 4 nights. Arrived early but room already ready. Room as described, well located hotel. Good points. Reception staff excellent. Helpful and professional. We had an issue with the door jamming, immediately called maintenance to fix. We also had an inconsiderate neighbour with TV on extremely loud for hours. I went down after midnight and staff immediately called the other room to sort. I also saw someone trying to skip the queue and the receptionist politely and promptly pointed out there were others ahead of them and did not serve them ahead of others. I had booked a double as twins not available on the site I used. Reception had worked out we were mother and daughter and prepared a twin room for us. Lifeguard, indoor and one outdoor pool open. He switched regularly between them and proactively removed towels of anyone trying to reserve sun loungers. Bar staff always watching the pool area for guests needing drinks and clearing afterwards. Regularly walking round the pool ensuring guests could order quickly. Polite and professional. Food, excellent quality food, fresh veg and a range of options. Coffee at breakfast was barista served. Barista staff polite and efficient. Maid was cheerful and efficient. We often had the do not disturb on and expected to not have maid service that day but she always returned as soon as it was removed to clean the room, never missing a day. Pool towels in room, saving on packing space. Not as good Wrist bands, told at reception they didn't need to be worn and only needed for dinner. (Fabulous) Half way through we needed them for breakfast and shouted back for missing the check. Person checking was in a different place each service and often speaking to staff so easily missed. I would suggest positioning him just outside the door would avoid guests missing him and provide a nice welcome to breakfast/dinner rather than guests awkwardly hovering and seaching him out or being called back. Waiter staff unfortunately let the hotel down slightly. Often loudly chatting right behind guests seated or over tables while guests are sat eating. Multiple times they knocked chairs of seated guests and didn't acknowledge or apologise. Pushed past guests coming through tight spaces rather than allowing guests to finish moving out the tight space before they entered. Often slow at removing finished plates but some were better than others at doing this. They had lots of staff so unsure why this all happened. No conditioner in the room, not sure why not. If its an environmental reason, a note in the room to explain would have been appreciated. Or an option to buy at reception would have been helpful. No milk and implied tea/coffee was not to be replenished. Considering coffee at breakfast was barista this may have reduced some of their work if guests could have a coffee in the room first thing? Overall if I could give 4.5 🌟 I would as a few tweaks it could be excellent. Maybe once the season kicks off the slight issues will be ironed out. A good hotel, clearly well managed and well located. Clear most staff are proud of the hotel.

Short journey from airport with beautiful view of the sea. Spotlessly clean. Stayed for breakfast and evening meal. Welcoming staff. Third time visited but this time took grown up children as a special birthday who also loved it. Can walk for miles along the beach.
