TUI BLUE Grupotel Mallorca Mar

We were skeptical about staying at this hotel due to reading some other reviews but we were really pleasantly surprised! It’s definitely a hotel for families with younger children, we came with our 10 month old and found it was well catered for him. I wouldn’t recommend for couples. He loved being in the splash pool as there’s good shallow areas as well as in the main pool. Lots of shaded areas throughout the day depending on where you sit and sun beds with umbrellas which was great. He also loved going to the baby club every day- this was a great addition to the hotel- we had great communication from the staff and were sent photos of what he was getting up to! We were slightly hesitant to leave him but we did the stay & play sessions first and met the staff, who were more than happy to answer any questions and took the time to play with our son. There’s also a small soft play/baby room with some books/toys beside the pool which our son loved to take a break from the heat- it was a bit grubby and didn’t seem to be manned by any staff but it was good for a little break from the sun! We found the location okay and enjoyed walking into Cala Bona each morning with our son before it became too hot (about 10 minutes into Cala Bona)- we also easily got the bus outside the hotel to Cala Millor one evening and walked back which only took about 30 minutes. We found the food good for an all inclusive with lots of choice and themed nights. Nothing out of this world but we always found something to eat. The only downfall was that I burnt myself on one of the lights keeping the food warm and the staff member that I spoke to at reception wasn’t very helpful. I explained it was an accident but just suggested there could be some signs to warn how hot the lights are as a child may accidentally touch it- but she didn’t seem to understand. Room was clean and a cot was provided for our son, new towels each day etc. Nice little Kitchenette in the room with kettle, microwave and hob which was great for making baby feeds and heating up food for our son if needed. We stayed in block 6 and had a partial sea view but there are some rooms I kept saying to my husband “I wouldn’t want to be in that room” as there’s no view or your stuck looking at the restaurant/the road but it depends how much time you really spend in your room I suppose! The complex is split over a small street- we rarely saw any cars on it and it’s always very quiet! The entertainment was a bit naff and not many people seemed to hang around for the later evening shows. Bar staff were always lovely even when they were busy! Overall we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely return!

Husband and I stayed for 4 nights following a Tui Marella cruise. What a different experience. Upon check in, our first experience was an offer to upgrade to a sea view room for an additional £300. Having just spent 7 days at sea, we didn't really need this, and we felt the cost to be very high. The hotel is very child focused. It's hard to find a quiet spot, and the dining room and drinks station are usually messy and chaotic areas. We only ate at the restaurant once and the food was cold, the tables and floor was dirty and children had their hands in all the food (if they can keep it on the plates, rather than spilling it all over the floor). There is only 1 bar after 6pm - the other one being the snack bar in the part of the hotel across the road. The bed was comfy, but we did have a disabled room which was odd (raised toilet, shower seat). The WiFi was hit and miss and often dropped. The town is a 15 minute walk away and does have some good eateries, thankfully. The supermarket under the hotel is good.

Lovely hotel spread over a big area so plenty of space and pools! Fantastic for families with lots of kids entertainment. The splash pool is fantastic our 3 year old grandaughter loved it! Good choice of food and drinks. Rooms were lovely the only disappointment was the maid took our used towels and didn't replace them 3 days out of the 7 so we were sharing 1 towel! Would definitely come back here with the family but not as couple! Not a long walk to the harbour and main square either.

A fabulous family holiday that’s great value for money. Accommodation: we stayed in a 2 bed/2 bathroom apartment, with a sea view, which was great for a family of older teens. The hotel is split into two sections with the main reception, restaurants, splash pool and apartments in one and over a very quiet street the entertainment complex, terrace, activity pool and more accommodation. It’s clean & well presented. It got busy by the activity pool but lots of loungers and made great use of the gardens to maximise that sea view. Food/drink: plenty of choices for B’fast lunch & dinner in the main restaurant. The odd thing wasn’t perfect but when you’re catering en masse for everyone from 9 months - 90, from different countries, that’s to be expected. The food in the taverna was lovely. Good choice of cocktails, beer, wine & soft drinks in the all inclusive package. Activity/ entertainment: lots to choose from and we all loved the aqua & fitness classes during the day. We preferred to sit in the terrace , with a cocktail playing cards, but the evening entertainment looked fun, especially for the little ones. Service: always friendly and helpful from the hotel staff to the TUI BLU staff. Overall we loved our week here and it’s definitely on our list of hotels to return too.
