Zafiro Alzinar Mar

Location is a 5-10 minutes walk from the beach which has some lovely cafes. Adult only hotel and was very relaxing. Not too busy as we were there end of September. Plenty of sunbeds. Staff were mainly friendly and the food was excellent. Noticed other reviews say food was not hot. Not sure if these reviews were peak season but we found it to be hot. Restaurants very clean. They could do with 2 extra coffee machines in the morning. Rooms are spacious and air con worked well. There was entertainment but not every night. The entertainment provided (singers) were excellent. There was a beer festival in Can Picafort on the Saturday night with a great band. Would recommend this hotel.

My true rating would be between Average and Very Good but that's not possible so I have gone up rather than down. The hotel is attractive inside and out and spotlessly clean; how they manage to keep all of the windows and glass panels clean is amazing. As we arrived, Higinio from reception came out to meet us and take our cases and, having completed registration, with a glass of cava, he took us to our room. Our 'Junior suite with a pool view' was on the 1st floor of building 3; it was spacious and comfortable and had a double size day bed and plunge pool on the large balcony. We didn't have any sun on our balcony until about 1645 hrs so, if you like a sunny balcony during the day, ask for building 2. All of the staff, except for the regular two in the Zest Lounge Bar, were really great - friendly, helpful and professional. I accept that it is unfair to 'name names' but our special thanks to Andrea, Antonella, Aroa, Arturo, Fernando, Franklin, Higinio, Miguel, Noa and Rajmund. We had two points of disappointment at the hotel. For us, the food really was a let down; it was nearly always warm instead of hot and the quality was not what we expected in such a good hotel and, what seems like a small point, the slowest coffee machines ever! became a real irritation.Waiter served lunch (until 1600hrs) in the outdoor Sage & Olive restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Our other minus point was when a group of over 50 ladies arrived, with their trainer, for an exercise week. The sunbeds and parasols were removed from one side of the pool where they had 2 sessions each morning and 1 in the afternoon - the music and clapping seemed to go louder and louder each day. I can understand the hotel wanting such a large booking at the end of the season, but it was not good for the other guests. However, the hotel Management did their best to compensate my wife and I so thank you for that. It's a pity; the hotel is lovely and the staff are great, but it is not in a very nice area, the food was disappointing the 'invasion' was annoying.

Generally a nice quietish adult only hotel. All inclusive breakfast and lunch a bit bland but acceptable. A la carte lunch very good. My wife is Coeliac and she was catered for quite well. Biggest negative was the total lack of sound proofing in the room. We looked onto the road and so had traffic noise all night. Resort was really nice and seemed to be geared more for older people, which suited us. All in all, enjoyed our weeks stay.

A smashing hotel, greeted by smashing reception staff, a glass of cava on arrival,much appreciated after a long journey. Lovely room, very comfortable bed. Food was great, dining room staff were really friendly. We were half board plus,so a glass of wine with dinner. Evening entertainment was good. No problem with sunbeds. If you want to use public transport there's bus stops outside the hotel. All in all ,a lovely relaxing stay

Such an amazing hotel and food was exceptional. Staff could not do enough for you and super friendly. Cannot wait to return again.
