Club Palm Bay

Cool atmosphere... Good foods, there various options to choose at the buffet. We had a small outdoor activity session, which was engaging and very friendly coordinators to help with the outdoor activities. Thanks to Mr. Amila n Animation team

Just back from a stay at the hotel . TUI France have used this as part of their Club Lookea brand. The majority of guest are French or Russian.English , German and Dutch are in a significant minority, some Sri Lankan guest also use the hotel . The animation team are part of the Club Lookea and only speak to the French( wearing Red all inclusive bands) and all the activities during the are only for the French, if you try to join in they make you unwelcome or totally ignore you. In the restaurant they get normal size wine glasses, we got really small ones with just about two mouth fulls .The hotels own animation man only once did a meditation morning and was near the table tennis room. The hotel does not have enough sunbeds for all the guests, resulting in sun bed wars and people getting up at silly o’clock to claim a bed or give the pool attendants cash to reserve a good spot . Some people reserved 4 beds with hats and jumpers early and when they turned up at 3pm were shocked that the beds were no longer reserved for them as the pool attendants, quiet rightly, gave them to guests who were laying on the floor. The female receptionists have a limited understanding of English. We were called by reception at 11.30 pm to advise that our rep would be visiting the next day, we were already in bed asleep the time! It’s a shame that the hotel has turned into this club Lookea as the hotel is set in lovey well kept grounds, the rooms are spacious and majority of the staff are polite and friendly ( a few in the restaurant ignore you and one manager will prioritise the French.) There was a nice selection of food in the buffet and a limited selection of AI drinks, although if you wanted to buy other drinks they were reasonable. Evening live music was hit and miss, Saturday had a duo ( wearing black and white shirts) and a saxophonist are good, but a duet of a man and wife were awful ( she couldn’t sing western songs and had an irritating high pitched tone). I will return to Sri Lanka but not to this hotel .

Had lovely time here all the staff except the French club lookea animation team ..they ignore the English with not even giving us a smile …don’t expect to join in but curtesy would be appreciated…all the staff are so helpful …the food is delicious and varied …the English are given small glasses while the French and Russians get normal size I feel this needs to be addressed by hotel …if it wasn’t for those points I would have given a 5 …the reception staff understanding of the English language could be better …will return but not to this hotel
