Dickwella Resort & Spa

From our warm arrival to leaving our family group of 7 were treated like friends. We booked with a a well known tour operator and the journey from and to the airport seems like a long time, but if you want a small and friendly hotel nestled between 2 wonderful sandy beaches, this one is for you. We stayed for 2 weeks All Inc and all the food was incredible, the outstanding dish for me was Breadfruit Curry. Everything was freshly cooked with a full array of both Sri Lankan and European food, so there was something for everyone. Chef Dadison gave us a cooking class and we also made some special requests for evening food and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant staff were very efficient (we eventually named them The Ninja Plate Snatchers - in a very good way :) The Bar Staff were attentive and knew what our preferred drinks were. The Pool team knew which sunbeds we preferred and were always ready to set them up for us. Entertainment was there if you fancied a game of darts or pool games. Housekeeping were always around if you needed anything at all. Every single person greeted you with a smile, even the Gardeners and Security! Because of the time of year, (out of season) the pool was relatively empty, and as it was a big enough pool, plenty of actual swimming could be done. We tried the soothing spa and used the gym. The weather was hot (only had 2 downpours), but with wind which made the sea rather rough, but we still managed to get in and do a bit of snorkeling. Turtles and fish could be seen from the pool balcony. Before we went, we booked several Safari outings with Best of Lanka, all their staff were there on time and we thoroughly enjoyed the Safari's, we saw Sloth Bear, Leopards and of course Elephants, as well as many species of birds. We got Tuk Tuk's just outside the gates, went to Hiriketiya and the Blow Hole and ventured up into Dickwella itself, to the Saturday Market (which was amazing) and around the town. We always felt at home and people were friendly. Visited the Sanu Gem Shop, Dickwella (not far over the road), and bought some lovely jewelry. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday memorable. As you can tell, I can't rate it high enough!

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The property offers picturesque views, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. We also enjoyed the entertaining games and activities organized for the guests, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The service provided by the staff was excellent, and their hospitality truly stood out. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and we highly recommend this hotel.

His professionalism and warm, attentive service made our stay truly seamless and special from day one. ​Between the delicious food, beautiful pool, and top-tier service, we had an unforgettable stay.
