Suriya Resort

We visited Suurya Resort Waikkal with our friends and families and had a wonderful time. The location is beautiful, the swimming pool is excellent, and the food was delicious. A special thank you to Marasinghe at the restaurant for taking such good care of us during our meals. We also sincerely appreciate all the hotel staff for their kindness, warm hospitality, and friendly service throughout our stay. We had a great experience and would happily recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Celebrating our bestie's birthday at Suriya Resort was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome and genuinely cared for. A very special thank you to Chef Ranga, whose exceptional hospitality went far beyond our expectations. His warmth, attention to detail, and dedication made our celebration feel incredibly personal and memorable. The entire team at Suriya Resort created an atmosphere of comfort, luxury, and heartfelt care that made us feel more like family than guests. We chose this resort for our honeymoon expecting a special, memorable experience, but the terrible service and indifferent attitude of the staff completely spoiled our stay. Our disappointment started right at check-in. The staff member who processed our invoice simply took us to the room, handed over the key, and walked away. There was absolutely no explanation of the property, no mention of resort policies, and zero information about dinner, lunch, or breakfast times. Because of this complete lack of communication, we woke up, checked the menu, and realized the breakfast buffet had already closed. Staff must inform guests about basic service schedules upon arrival. Furthermore, this was our honeymoon stay, but there was no proper welcome, no decorations, and zero effort made to make it feel special. It felt like a completely ordinary, basic room. The poor attitude of the staff completely ruined our milestone celebration, and we left feeling totally disappointed. We would not recommend this place for special occasions.

We recently stayed at this hotel with my parents and child, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The surroundings were calm and quiet with beautiful green scenery, which made our stay very relaxing. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, providing everything we needed for a family stay. We still appreciate the warm hospitality of the staff. The Resident Manager Mr Arju Vijayarajah is so humble and he does his role excellent way. This Luxury Resort hasn't ruined the flora and fauna in the surrounding.That's the greatest quality that we all have noticed throughout our stay. The personalized care we received made us feel very special . Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

My husband and I stayed for 14 days for our 40th Anniversary and the staff were absolutely amazing, we can not fault one member; they were friendly, polite, helpful and always went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. On our Anniversary, they set out our table in one of the pool canopies, with lanterns, the table was beautifully set and to top it off, they presented us with a cake with happy anniversary written on it. One of the young girls, when we went down for lunch, (I think her name was Muthu) handed us a heart shaped piece of paper that she had made with, Happy 40th Anniversary written on it, it was so beautiful. The hotel was kept clean, although the dining hall toilets need a regular check on them and a little tidy of the open air area. We had a very nice room, the only thing I would say is, the shower surround needs some kind of lip at the door, to stop water spilling over the floor. It was ok when we put a mat by the door. Other than that we can not fault our stay, it was a wonderful stay. It was nice and quiet too. Just down from the hotel is ASDA jewellers, which are amazing. My sister has had jewellery made every time she has been to Sri lanka, by the family and my husband and I also had rings and ear rings made, and they are beautiful. The atmosphere in the entire hotel was so relaxing and welcoming. And as for the food! Well, it was some of the best food we have tasted absolutely 1st class. We would most definitely recommend this hotel. We took advantage of the hotel space also; and again, they were so friendly and welcoming and also made you feel comfortable.
