Our experience at Taj during our visit to Sri Lanka was truly memorable, particularly because of the hospitality, and personalised attention extended to us throughout our stay. As Indians travelling in Sri Lanka, one of our concerns was the availability of Indian meals that would suit our preferences. We were pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the culinary team was. A special mention goes to Chef Dalip and Chef Sharat, who went out of their way to understand our requests and ensure that we were served Indian meals according to our preferences. Every request was handled with genuine care, and their willingness to accommodate us made us feel comfortable. Their efforts made a significant difference to our overall experience, and we are truly grateful to both of them. Equally commendable was the team at the reception. They were always approachable, attentive, and readily available whenever we needed assistance. Whether it was a special request or any help required during our stay, the team ensured that our concerns were addressed promptly and with a smile. Their willingness to help made the entire experience smooth and hassle-free. What stood out most was not just the Taj hospitality that one expects from the brand, but the genuine warmth and personal attention shown by the people who made our stay special. An excellent, comfortable hotel in a great location. Lovely sea views. Good selection of food in the main buffet restaurant. Sam was a great waiter. He was very helpful and caring . Beautiful pool, plenty of towels and always sunbeds available.

Just returned from an 3 night stay at Taj. Incredibly good hotel. Truly 5 star, which is not often the case in Sri Lanka. We booked in very late notice, after leaving another hotel early because it was awful. Taj restored my faith. It’s a beautiful area, amazing beachfront location with spectacular views from the loungers by the pool area. The shared spaces are very grand, beautiful pool, and views and service. We were moved (complimentary) to a deluxe garden room with interconnecting rooms as my late booking would have otherwise had my family on different floors. Both rooms were newly renovated (321 and 322) with beautiful bathrooms and a huge sitting area in one of the rooms. This hotel wax the only time in Sri Lanka we saw a TV with English channels including the ability to log into your own Netflix. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was fantastic. And the restaurant great but predominantly Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine. There is a very reasonably priced à la carte menu for those looking for other cuisines which was super handy for my kids who ate cheese burgers and pizzas on repeat and couldn’t be convinced to try anything spicy. Can’t fault this place, especially the location and views. There are cute little restaurants in walking distance, tuk tuks at the door, access to cheap spa type services outside of the hotel (hotel spa was very $$ and I went elsewhere) and a very authentic little town to explore when you’re not swimming, eating or relaxing on a day bed. The hotel organised a complimentary birthday cake and decorated the room with balloons and fun towel art for my son’s 14th birthday which was actually a days after we left, but they noticed at check in and did a pre birthday celebration. Loved it.

Great property. Lovely location, right on the beach. very clean and is being managed by some highly efficient and cooperative staff. We were with our grandson, who is an infant and the way both the chefs, Head Chef, Dileep Singh and chef Sharad looked after his food requirement was nothing short of extraordinary. Extremely thankful to both of them for the same. From the Reservation team, Mr. Challana and Ms. Chamoli were very helpful and Ms. Nirangika and Mr. Suranga from Front Office were wonderful. All in all, it was a great experience at Taj Bentota, location, foood, atmosphere, cleanliness, everything was just too good.
