Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya

We adore this place. Our family have been coming to this resort since 2014 and this is our third stay. It’s been 8 years since we have been back and I can say it’s just as fabulous. The same staff are still here, shout out to Auto and Bird who have made us feel like family and remembered our children when they were little. The staff love working here and it says alot for the Centara brand. This trip we stayed in club lounge suite and have been so lucky to meet all the wonderful staff at the Club lounge who have made our stay just amazing. To Junior and Diow, Ommy and Sanim and all others I have missed, Centara are so lucky to have you. The best staff in any resort we have stayed at. Our cleaners Nan and most importantly the wonderful Link, what a splendid young man, thank you. We have stayed at Centara Kata, Centara Karon twice and multiple times here, Centara do it best. You are treated wonderfully and the security at the resorts is second to none. Shout out to the guards here, you do a wonderful job. We cannot wait to return with all our now grown up family. This was my first visit to Pattaya and first visit for my 9yrs old son to Thailand, so I made sure to choose to right hotel, location, beach and all. With so much search, to be honest; centara Grand Mirage won them all.. We had the best experience ever despite some negative read reviews.. I always review with details to benefit everyone so here it is.. Its a shame to give them 4 stars whereas its a totally 5 star hotel. Booking service: - we had a problem with our booking dates as we booked via expedia (non refundable/changeable) and had to change the dates to 10 days before. (Anne) from the helpdesk did her best and managed to help us canceling the old reservation & refunded us full amount & asked us to rebook! She saved our trip to be honest. Big thank to her. She did this over the phone days before we travel. Arrival: - after 90mints drive from Bangkok airport, we were so welcomed despite the long wait for our checkin wait. We had two rooms, so arriving very early, they took our bags in a safe room and came back by 2.30pm. They gave us one room & asked us to wait for the other room as not ready. The other room was ready by 4, so to compensate us, they gave us around 2000baht vouchers for so many restaurants around the hotel. - only downside here is that they will only give you your room by 3pm sharp! Even if you arrive hours before & so tired. But they have a big resting area providing drinks etc. Room: - amazing room, very well equipt with everything from toiletry, towels, nice bed sheets, clean & neat room, with an amazing ocean view. We had 12th & 16th floor room so you can imagine the beautiful view. - room was so spacious enough for two adults and two kids. We had a big extra bed for my son which was comfortable enough. - bathroom had a sliding door to keep privacy yet felt so big. Also toilet equipt with douch so that was an extra point. Full of amenities and always refilled with fresh clean towels. - very quiet rooms in high levels barley can hear any noise. House keeping: - they ask you to download their app and via the app you can order whatever you require & always on time & refilled. - room was always cleaned on timing requested via the app never had an issue. - iron board kept throughout the whole week of our stay which was amazing. Facilities: - the resort was a waw factor. It had it all. You wouldnt want to leave the hotel at all specially the kids. My son woke up early & only left by closing time around 7pm. - lazy river, floaties, lovely warm big swimming pool for little ones and adults, splashing water in lazy river, full day kids activities from football to building sand castles over the beach area & dancing pool activities, name it all. Zip lines, adventure park with small fees half or full day access. - neither you or kids would want to leave full day enjoying the hotel. Nice music all day long. A lot of service people taking orders and so many sun beds everywhere with no fees. Just go to the towel service unit & get your towels to enjoy. Beach: - one downside, no beach beds, bring your town and just enjoy it. Very rough sea with so much waves but enjoyable after 12pm. Not too crowded. There are some beds that you can rent but not by the hotel as runs by locals. Restaurants: - the beach club has it all for yourself & kids. - there is ice cream place to buy from & has few drinks. - people complain about price but to be honest comparing to other countries, price in Thailand is cheap. For a family of 2 adults & 1 kid in full day might spend around 2000baht overall which is decent for food and drink. Activities from the hotel: - prepare to pay cash if to book via their booth, if card they ll charge 5% extra. They have elephant, zoo, waterpark, etc with transportation. Transportation: - download (blog) app its like uber and you ll have drivers coming in fast. Some will ask cash but cards are available too. Distance: - less than 5 mints car to nearest mall and eating area and 20mints walk to the same. 7/11 is walking distance too. - 10 mints car to Pattaya city center & malls. Weather: - Keep an eye bcz with thunderstorms the pools and beach can close for saftey reasons however if its pouring rain then its open and can enjoy the swim under the rain. - it becomes so windy suddenly where it means its going to rain so be prepared. But you can hide under the shaded areas till it stops. It ll take an hour sometimes but then all is clear. Checkout: - we asked for 2pm checkout as our flight is late at night and they gave us for both room. Hotel overall: - massive with 500 rooms in two connected buildings. Amazing stay in the mirage jungle. You will never regret your stay. Price is great for such lovely breath taking hotel. Thank you for the amazing stay & will deffintly come back again.
