The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon

Was recommended this hotel, exceeded my expectations, great place. I am on my way back to Bangkok in 2 Weeks, and will intentionally be staying at this hotel again.

Always a pleasure to stay at the standard in bangkok. My favorite hotel in the city. A la carte breakfast was fantastic and it was a nice touch to send breakfast to my room on the last day when I had an early checkout due to my flight. Also comes with free admission to the rooftop at Mahanakhon

I had an extra day after a client meeting in Bangkok, so I extended my stay at The Standard. Public areas are fine, the kind of "cool" you'd expect from a design conscious brand, nothing that really surprised me. The rooms are where it gets interesting. I had a Premium King with a window looking out over the city, and the design is genuinely excellent. Not just good to look at, actually thought through. Bathtub and shower separate, and soaking in the tub at night with the skyline out the window was easily one of the best parts of the stay. The vanity has real shelving, properly sized for someone travelling with a full kit of toiletries and makeup, which almost no hotel gets right. There's a niche by the bathroom for clothes, worn or clean, and the bottom shelf fits a suitcase. The wardrobe is excellent too, big enough to lay a suitcase open inside it, with floor space left over if you're travelling heavy. Gym is well stocked, room to do mat work, decent range of weights and machines, good view while you're at it. Pool's on the small side but a nice place to sit and people watch. Breakfast is well curated, good mix of Thai and Western, and I ate outside under the landscaping. Shaded, green, a genuinely nice way to start the day. Location is a big win. Right by the BTS, easy ride to Siam, close to Dusit Central Park, One Bangkok, Charoenkrung, Talat Noi. As a designer: staff uniforms are on point, the room interiors are where the brand really delivers, amenities and collateral are consistently on-brand. Public spaces are the one part that felt a bit predictable to me. Everything else more than makes up for it.

Stayed at the Standard Bangkok, and it far surpassed my expectations. Received a room upgrade on arrival to a king suite. All the staff were fantastic. Breakfast was good, and the a la carte selection was great. The only piece of feedback I would give is if you enjoy a firmer pillow, then there aren't any available. The facilities were amazing. The gym was top-notch. If you're a gym junkie and you train regularly, you'll be satisfied with the gym. The hotel is situated in the second-tallest building in Bangkok and gets access for free to the sky bar for one visit. Definitely worth a look . If you're tired of the hotel food, which I didn't, but we were there for a long day, directly opposite the Standard is a really lovely food court with several different options. The hotel is also located conveniently to the rail network, which can help you get around. Because the hotel is so well known, when we were negotiating rides with tuk-tuk drivers, they knew exactly where to go, no issues. Overall, the staff were amazing. The room was great. The food was good. I would definitely, definitely, definitely go back. I travel quite a bit internationally, and this is definitely in my top five hotel experiences.
