Apsara Beachfront Resort & Villa

Lovely hotel, great location, staff helpful especially Aum at the front desk!

This hotel is so close to being 5* and getting rave reviews, but they just don't quite have the "going above and beyond" bit nailed. On occasion, the staff can be extremely difficult and either bluntly say no or just make things inordinately complicated. Example.... I have just stayed 11 nights as a solo traveller. Our group were given vouchers for lunch and dinner. If one did not have the voucher with themat lunch or dinner, often you were dispatched back to your room to retrieve it at great inconvenience. Even on occasion, they forgot to ask for a voucher and then asked the next day for 2 days. The vouchers were a massive issue and a pain, I would much rather have been given a wristband. It would have been so much easier. Cleaning standards left a little to be desired in the bedrooms; there was some dust and the bathrooms were not incredibly spotless, the room I was in needed to have the bath resealed as when one took a shower the bathroom floor got flooded. Mosquito spraying and cockroach spraying need to be more frequent as they were a pain. Thats the negatives, the position of the hotel I cannot fault, it is in the most beautiful place, right on the beach, the food is absolutely delicious and the common areas and pool very well cared for. I was there just as the season was about to begin so there was no fight for sunbeds nor tables for dinner, there are plenty of bars and restaurants, so I do not think dinner would be an issue but I do wonder if there are enough sunbeds for all the guests as the pool area is not massive. The prices in the hotel shop are very reasonable and the taxi into the main town also very cheap, do visit the market! I very much enjoyed my stay at Apsara, taking aside the voucher thing! Need to train those staff a little more to get the 5th star!

We have absolutely loved our stay here, nothing negative to say at all. The site is laid out beautifully and well looked after, without exception every member of staff we have encountered has been professional and effective. Above all their cheeriness is infectious! Thank you Aspara, we really hope we can return again some day.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious. The entire resort is beautiful and well maintained.

This was our first holiday in Thailand and we could not have chosen a better resort to stay in. We arrived late in the evening after a very long travel from the UK. We were greeted with cold drinks and friendly staff. We had our villa upgraded to single beds for our children and had delicious food delivered within half an hour of arriving. The Villa has the wow factor! The facilities are fantastic within the villa. It is clean, well kept and comfortable. Being on the Villa side of the resort we had use of both main restaurants and both pools. We enjoyed both sides. The resort is wonderfully relaxing and quiet. The scenery is stunning and the beach is gorgeous. We were able to walk a stretch to find fishing boats and felt safe throughout. The food here is amazing. The buffet offers different choices daily. The food is authentic and of high quality. The A la cart restaurant on the villa side is wonderful. Freshly cooked to order and enough options to keep the variety for the week. There are western options here, but we kept very much to the Thai dishes. There were plenty of options from the bar to keep everyone happy. The Thai massage offering from the spa is fantastic and very well priced. Finally the staff here. They absolutely treat you like family. Friendly, polite and nothing is too much trouble. Unlike holidays in other parts of the world, where we felt like we were constantly being sold things (timeshare, trips etc), we have felt very much respected to enjoy our holiday in peace. I would 100% recommend this hotel and would definitely come back again.
