Sunwing Bangtao Beach

The hotel was truly beautiful and clean, and the rooms were large and spacious. They were cleaned every day, and the towels were changed daily as well. If I had to mention one small point for improvement, it would be the beach towel exchange policy. Being able to exchange beach towels only once per day is sufficient during the dry season, but unfortunately during the rainy season it was not quite enough for us. We had booked half board, and every evening we could choose a dish from the menu, as well as an appetizer and a dessert. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately my husband experienced stomach issues after two days, even though we ate exclusively at the hotel. We assume it may have been due to the eggs, which my son and I do not eat because of allergies, while my husband does. Everything else we consumed was the same. Fortunately, it did not spoil our holiday because it only lasted a short time. The beach is beautiful. One section of the sand has been significantly eroded by the waves, exposing tree roots, but the rest of the beach is truly lovely. Everyone is very kind, friendly, and always willing to help. The pools are large and clean. We always enjoy returning to Thailand, and we will gladly stay at Sunwing hotels again. P.S. Thank you for the birthday surprise – it really made me happy! 🥰♥️

We arrived at reception late afternoon as our flight from Australia was delayed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. During our stay the reception staff went out of there way to assist my Husband an myself. Analyn was exceptional as her English was fantasic so communication was easy, also helped us with directions and had a good knowledge of the Resort and surrounding Aera. Other staff members were so polite and helpful. English speaking staff were important for as and girls on front Desk like Analyn, San and Helen were just welcoming.

my family spent a week here in a pool access room. from the moment we arrived we were a little underwhelmed. You have to walk through the designated smoking area to get to the rooms which is very unpleasant especially with kids. The room is ok with a small table and chairs outside plus 2 sun loungers with umbrella. The bed was large and comfortable but the sofa for the kids to sleep on was extremely hard and very uncomfortable. we spoke to guest services and they arranged for pillow toppers to be put on which helped. The room size is ok however the bathroom is very small and all in one. Then room in general is very dated and in need of a thorough clean. They provided 2 bottles water each day even though there were 4 of us. They have the most ridiculous pool towel policy which involves checking out your towels and only being allowed to change them once a day during specific hours, otherwise you must go to reception to get them. They don't give you umbrellas when going out if you forgot to get yours from the room. Nothing felt easy here. The staff ( not all but most) are so disinterested 90% of the time. They mostly ignore you. At one stage I observed a guest struggling to put up her umbrella at her sun lounge while 4 workers walked right past her! This was a common theme among the workers and it really lets the place down. Many do not speak or understand English and it made things difficult The one thing this has place has going for it is the main pool with waterslide and the beach. Both were great despite being dirty. The slide was a lot of fun, plenty of sun lounges around the pools, a pool bar and the beach right there. a shame that no workers clean up around the pool , empty food and drink rubbish is left until evening. The massage spa don't use tables with hole for your face so its uncomfortable. The buffet breakfast is ok with variety of foods. there are a couple of restaurants across the road to eat at that are very good and some small shops but otherwise you need a taxi to go anywhere . we personally would not choose to come back to this hotel or the area of bang tao but we did Overall I think you get what you pay for here and that is a budget resort on the beach

Great location for easy access to shops, restaurants and right on the beach. Beautiful grounds with so many trees, plants and flowers - feels really tropical! The rooms were fantastic with a kitchen area, microwave and everything you need for basic self catering. Plenty of storage and hanging space. We felt the hotel was fantastic value for money especially because of the amenities that were available, notably the kids club, gym and the many pools. The pools were exceptional. So many to choose from and always clean. Cushions on the sunbeds would really improve the comfort. The negatives were that the food in the restaurant wasn’t that great which is a massive shame and perhaps why it was always empty for lunch and dinner. We had lunch once and it was not nice and we had dinner once which was marginally better but still not great! Such a shame. The beach was very littered. The tides are strong so there was a lot of wood and debris and a great deal of plastic. I expect the weather/ season means that hotels and bars are reluctant to clear it up and maybe things better during high season. Regardless, I think the hotel should make an effort to tidy up their stretch of beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - everyone from reception, pool bar, housekeeping, maintenance team and waiters were always so happy and attentive. Wonderful team! Overall we were happy with our stay!

It was our 3rd time visiting this hotel. Its location is amazing right on the beautiful beach. Absolute amazing sunsets to be seen. Everything is immaculately clean. Rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. The staff in this hotel are so hard working and ultra friendly they make the resort. A special thanks to Min from the main restaurant who is a diamond and Ree and Mart and, of course, Marcus, the legend of guest relations. Always happy and full of information. If you're going to this area I would recommend this hotel without question. I have been holidaying in this area for the past 20 years and we have stayed much more expensive hotels which dont compare with the service you receive in this hotel.
