Houda Yasmine Marina & SPA

I went on this holiday with 2 of my friends. 6 nights all inclusive. We paid a very good price. We would have rated the hotel more of a 3* than 4* the reception area/bar area was beautiful. However the rooms particularly the bathrooms were fairly dated and in need of a refresh. We were upgraded to a 4 person room on the 2nd floor. View was of other side of hotel and carpark/roof but fine by us as room was only for washing and sleeping. The hotel perfectly very close to the beach and new medina. The rooms were cleaned daily and we were also given fresh towels daily. The beds were only changed once but they were made everyday the lovely cleaners even folded any clothes we had left out. It helps to learn a few words in French/ Arabic as some of the cleaning/ restaurant staff don’t speak much English but personally I think that’s just polite when you go away. It was quite noisy by the pool at points in the day time. The entertainment staff were full of energy and did come and chat and try to get you involved in activities but did accept no when you didn’t want to join in, Joe and pepino were particular highlights for us. ‘Picasso’ the doing the Harkous tattoos was lovely and even taught my friend how to do it herself. He even sat and played a card game with us one night. Bar staff were mostly polite but clearly stressed and busy at times they did occasionally run out of glasses but they were replaced quickly and we found that keeping hold of 1 glass and pouring new drinks into ur meant we didn’t have the use plastic. Wally the night manager was lovely and explained everything to us well. The beach was lovely. It was easy to get drinks at the bar and by the pool and they were very generous with the bottled water. Drinks were great no issues for us. Wine was not the best but drinkable and spirits were fine, they gave generous measures. Food was fine, there was a pasta station daily and always something on the grill. It was a bit reparative but there was always something to eat. Only improvement could be that things were better labeled and more veggie options. For the price we paid we had no complaints. The spa was excellent we did the traditional Hamam and a massage and I would recommend that to anyone who stays. It was very well priced and an excellent quality. We stayed in October and had 1 cold day which the indoor pool was perfect for outdoor pool was a bit cold even on hot days.

start with good points first the animation team are amazing and try make your stay fun the hotel it’s self looks clean but it’s not it’s meant to be 4 star i wouldn’t even call it 2 star the cleanliness off rooms toilets and dining room is the worst iv ever experienced even the glasses and cups were filthy that they tried giving you to drink out of the food uncovered flys landing on food dead flys next to coffee and drinks machines i paid for 10 day holiday for myself and parter i ended paying for flight to come home after 6 days because that was worst holiday in my life time

Was a little concerned about coming after reading reviews. Maybe we were lucky, but our room was good. Didn't use the air conditioning, just kept the patio door open, no mosquitos came to visit. They did from time to time run out of glasses, cups etc, but we're soon replenished. Communial areas were always cleaned and didn't look dated at all. The staff from Reception, restaurant and chefs, entertainment, cleaners, bar were all smiles and helpful. We are an elderly couple, so therefore, not interested in the day to day activities, but the guys would always have a little chat and not pester us. Within walking distance from the beach and marina, or a ride in what I can only describe as a tut tut is worthwhile. I am a fussy eater in England, so going to Tunisia I knew the food wouldn't suit me, but I always found something to eat. Things may be totally different in Summer, but the hotel and weather were perfect for October away from wet England. Toilet rolls, waste basket, bedding and towels replaced frequently. Will return next October, so it can't be that bad.

How have u given this hotel 4 stars I beg u please send someone undercover The animation staff offered guests cocaine and weed The food was terrible never enough they advertised 10/11pm hot food / snacks. I asked them they said my website was wrong I said bring up yours. They wouldn’t said don’t no what I’m talking about even though reception staff’s English was good was over charged on stenna tattoo told excursions was £40 but other guests told me it was £30 At karaoke I was only allowed to sing once because I complained all other English guests were told no there is no glasses cups kettle in rooms there were no snacks alcohol was terrible was all inclusive but we drank in our rooms then went out and the maids were stealing of guests my friend and I different rooms had money stolen another lady told me medication went missing also a power bank for phone even a young lady said she had unopened underwear in her case She noticed her case open when she went back to her room and noticed 2pairs of underwear missing. I reported all this to the big manager of the hotel and the manager of animation. Still day before I left I met a new couple I’m sorry but I felt I needed to warn them they said they were asked if they wanted to buy weed but they declined so even after I complained they were still doing it absolutely terrible holiday I had been Tunisia before and loved it the staff were amazing so I took all my family 7 of us telling them how Tunisia is the best holiday I have ever had So when I went back and all this happened absolutely disgusting how we were treated I have never cried so much in my life I did not feel safe at all and was glad to get home I am going to check on this hotel in a few months and if u still give them 4 stars I will escalate this I do not want anyone else to go through what my family went through It was the houda hotel Yasmine marina and spa Tunisia last year Further more u need to find out who gave them 4 stars. That also needs looking into 😡😡😡

Excellent service all round would fully recommend. Food top draw, staff friendly, clean tidy all good. One small issue is that the air conditioning is switched off mid October which isn't great for us Brits
