Marhaba Club

I have been to this hotel once before it was nice and relaxing, after reading recent reviews about the renovations I had my reservations about going back, but I must say the hotel was better than before, the pool area is getting work done and I’m sure when finished will be lovely, the work which is being done does not in any way affect your holiday, you can also use neighbouring hotel the occidental. The entertainment team in these hotels work extremely hard to make sure you have a fun filled holiday activities throughout out the day to shows at night time, the dance show spectacular. We were looking for a relaxing week in the heat with very low expectations but it was still a disappointing stay. This is part of 3 hotels but youre not told anything about what you or can use when you arrive, you'll be told nothing unless you ask, the hotel info sheet youre given is minimal. This hotel is a 2 star tops, its a tag on to another hotel that's probably a 3/4 star where all of the facilities were (some very rude staff there). We used their gym and indoor pool, they played horrifically loud music but also had a moody gym manager who at one point unplugged the music and moved the speaker. The indoor pool had black mould all around the edge and one day smelt like feet. In the marhaba club they are doing renovations so its loud all the time and a construction site. The first night we stayed in the hallway next to the entertainment and it was so loud we had to ask to move, which they accommodated quickly. However you'll still find no peace as the visitors were arguing nightly, sometimes until 3am. The food was fine but we arent picky, fresh omelette station (except for the day it had lemon rind in it) and fresh orange juice. The staff in our hotel were immensely helpful, they'd all remember you and make a huge effort, customer service was actually 4*. The bar setup is wild, you queue for tiny drinks, theres only table service when they know you'll tip but even then its slow. We tried to walk to the medina but every 100 meters youd be stopped by someone who says "you dont recognise me, I work at marhaba hotel in the kitchen", 9/10 called Ali, and absolutely not from the hotel (hide your bands), trying to take you to shops. Its hard work because they're so friendly but its a con and relentless so we didnt all of the way before turning back. Nothing is free or a gift! Say no thankyou and move on immediately. The hotel has potential, but currently confused by the positive feedback unless its through animation team getting them to do it. I personally would deter anyone from thinking of going.

Another fantastic time at this hotel definitely the best in sousse. The staff cannot do enough to help. The cleaners work non stop. The entertainment team Fouffa a bubbly girl so full of energy gives her all to the job. The rest of the team are amazing working non stop to make your holiday unforgettable.
