Oceana Suites

Our bus delivered us from the airport through the guarded entrance and up the tree lined avenue past the padelboard and tennis courts to the front of this grand hotel. We arrived late on Saturday evening so missed the evenings entertainment (belly dancing) but was given the key to room 427 on the second floor a junior suite. The wall outside in the corridor needed a repaint as had some blistering. However the room itself was large. There was an area to the luggage, two cupboards to hang our clothes with dressing gowns, a minibar and safe. The bathroom had bath, shower, basin, hairdryer and toiletries. The balcony has sea and garden views. It had a TV with some channels we could watch. Each day we came back to a clean room with some lovely flowers and shaped towels! We had all inclusive so got a paper from reception explaining what we could and could not have. Breakfast included, omelet freshly made, cereals and muesli, fried and scrambled eggs, selection of fruits, bread and butter pudding, bread, pastries, jams etc. Service was 5 star. Empty Plates were cleared away quickly and everybody was very friendly and polite! Lunch was a la carte and outside we were greeted by three lovely cats! Dinner was a good selection of food. We loved the tunisienne food on Thursday night. I had 2 plates full! Service in the restaurants is 5 star! We had cocktails on the ground floor at the bar. The bar staff speak a multitude of languages and make very good cocktails. They are very good!

I would have rated 5 out of 5 I never had the option? Just home from a fabulous two weeks at this superb hotel. From Sameh, on reception, who could not do enough to make sure you had the very best experience. Helped with a City tour of Tunis, with the best driver, Oussamo Phone 216 52062950 Or ask Sameh. The trip was so informative, from start to finish. With lunch in a traditional Tunisian restaurant. Worth every penny. Oussamo, dropped us off, waited, then off to the next land mark. Fabulous if you have walking issues. The Hotel itself, is beautiful, but tired in places, however, nothing that you would complain about. Must be hard keeping on top of all the menial jobs. Indoor pool and Gym, were perfect for keeping up my fitness routine. Food excellent, waiters very sweet. Will be back very soon. I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed at the hotel for 10 days. During the first few days the services were not what we expected from a 5-star hotel. However, after we raised our concerns, the staff became very helpful and responsive, especially with cleaning and room service which we appreciated. The location is excellent only about 20 yards from the beachfront. The dining staff, especially BESHIR , along with the duty managers were extremely welcoming, friendly, and kind throughout our stay. The weather was quite cold in late February and early March, and there was not much to do around the area during this time. It may be a much better destination in summer for beach activities and nightlife. The beach itself was quite dirty, and the beach bar was closed possibly due to the winter season or the fasting month. Overall, the friendliness of the staff made a positive difference to our stay.

Me and my mum went for a 4 night break to escape wet and cold England. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a lovely lemonade and a very nice receptionist who told us our room wasn’t quite ready so she took our bags and sent us straight to a 3 course lunch. I would personally recommend to go all inclusive as you would not get the lunch otherwise. The hotel is so quiet at this time of the year so it felt like we were sitting in our own garden. The food here is amazing, at breakfast and dinner you are served a buffet with western and local options. For breakfast you can have pancakes, waffles, eggs, omelettes made for you, cheese and bread. For dinner you have a grill chef cooking you all types of wonderful meats and fish. And the desserts are amazing. So is Meher who kindly had a bottle of white at our table before we arrived. Unlike other buffets where everyday feels the same, the variety was huge and you felt spoilt by the lovely staff. For those picky eaters, in the evenings they have a pasta and pizza bar and can make them to your preference. On two days of the week you can also have an A La Carte dinner which is exceptional. We were lucky to be upgraded from a garden view to a sea view and the suite was huge, we also had a separate bath and shower along with a walk in wardrobe, a safe is also provided free of charge. The balconies are also very big and they have a lounger which is bigger than a single bed, minibar is stocked daily and the cleaning staff are very good at putting things together and keeping the room up to standard. Downstairs you have several shops which sell jewellery, handbags, souvenirs and things like suncream and bite cream (which I very much needed), the prices are fair, Sabir who runs the shops is a very honest man when it comes to explaining the items and giving a fair price, I purchased a lovely bracelet with my name hand stamped in Arabic. The pools were a little chilly for me however there were some people swimming at this time of the year. The spa treatments are very relaxing, we both booked the great celestial day ritual which was 3 hours of bliss, Sonja and our masseuse were both amazing. The hotel had entertainment every night, from amazing pianists, dancers to violinists etc. We booked a driver through the hotel, we had him for the whole day and he took us to the capital and Sidi Bou Said. I did have a look on GetYourGuide for a day trip prior to visiting the hotel however the prices for two of us weren’t much different for having a private driver with us all day. We learnt a lot from him and asked a lot of questions! Personally I would recommend Sidi and skip Tunis but, on our first trip we wanted the full experience. We ate local Tunisian food and visited the hot spots like romain ruins. Our driver Ramzi was fantastic. Most of all, all the staff in the hotel are exceptional. So amazing! They are all so happy and welcoming, making you feel like a special guest. Even when going through Ramadan and serving us the most lovely food, they were all so pleasant. There is no doubt I will come back here, they say September is a very good time to visit so that may be my next trip in 2027 however I plan to visit them for a few days over the next few months. I have been to a lot of hotels and this is the first hotel I have written a review for as it impressed me so much. I almost wanted to come back and book another trip here as soon as I got back home if my annual leave allowed it! If this could be 6 star it would be. Part of me didn’t want to write the review as it is such a hidden gem and I want to keep it for myself!

The location was good for the excursions I planned, others had been picked up and were dropped off a long time after me. The hotel is a short cab ride away from the centre, and very peaceful. The atmosphere was calm, perfect for if you don't like music around the pool. Very clean, with extra touches from the daily room clean, such as sweets and towels prettily arranged. The room was large, and a sea view with a large balcony. The room wasn't very modern, part of the charm. Excellent food, which changed daily. I was all inclusive, and a short a la carte menu each lunch was unexpected and wonderful. In Feb no waiting time at all. The menu included great traditional dishes and excellent presentation. All staff were very friendly, and well spoken English. It is directly on the beach, no boardwalk if you wanted to walk along the coast, this didnt bother me as I was only at the hotel for four nights, I should have had a few more! This was good value for money, and worth paying a small amount extra for the stunning sea view.
