Akra Kemer

We recently stayed at Akra Kemer with our family, and our absolute highlight was the Kids' Club! Traveling with children can sometimes be challenging, but the wonderful animation team made sure our kids had the time of their lives every single day. A massive thank you to Luba, Cansu, Sevda, and Yağmur! Their energy, warmth, and genuine care for the children are truly exceptional. From fun games and creative crafts to engaging outdoor activities, they created a safe, welcoming, and joyful environment. Our children looked forward to going to the Kids' Club every morning and talked about their favorite activities and leaders all evening. It is rare to find such a dedicated and professional animation team that goes above and beyond to make every child feel special. Thank you, ladies, for making our holiday at Akra Kemer so memorable and stress-free for the parents. We cannot wait to come back!

This was our fourth visit to the hotel, so it's disappointing to say that this stay was a real let-down. The food was repetitive, with very little variety from day to day. More disappointing, however, was the behaviour of many of the other guests, which completely spoiled the atmosphere. We witnessed people reserving sun loungers from around 9am and then not using them until 4pm, while others reserved six loungers for just three people. The hotel states that towels left on unused loungers will be removed, but this simply wasn't happening. Every day we saw empty loungers with towels left on them for hours. The same selfish attitude was evident in the restaurant, where some guests would rudely push past others to pile their plates high. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere and demographic of the hotel now feels very different from what we experienced on our previous visits. It's a real shame because we've always enjoyed staying here, but after this experience we won't be returning.

we came to the akra kemer for 14 nights at the start of july (4-19th). we are a family of 5, three adult children aged 24, 21 and 17 turned 18 whilst away. we were told the hotel was about 70% full when we were staying there hotel 🏨 upon arrival we were told we had 5 minutes until dinner ended and we were able to eat before checking in which we found to be a really nice gesture after travelling the actual hotel is not too big but not so small that it felt crowded, we noticed a few days where it seemed quieter than others but on main travel days the hotel overall cleanliness was really good, even had staff sweeping up pine needles around the pool bar area and a la carte. the outside areas were all really lovely and looked relatively new. hallways to rooms were slightly older and darker than communal areas. there are always staff around to help, lifeguards at the beach, people picking up rubbish at the beach and collecting cups. the guest relations team were always really helpful with helping to book restaurants and always asking if there was anything we needed, towels, toilet tissue, help etc water refill stations all over the hotel and lots of bins/recycling bins restaurants 🥘 you get unlimited access to a la cartes through the stay however they need to be booked in advance. you do this via the app two days before you want the restaurant. we were setting alarms to book at 8am for two days ahead when we knew we wanted an a la carte, if you have multiple rooms all rooms need to book in to secure a table for the full party. we were leaving notes and asking to link the bookings to both rooms and booking for the same/very similar times and was always accommodated. this felt trickier than it had to be as you could only book per room not per group through the lead traveller for example, however we were successful in trying every a la carte on offer and had repeat bookings of our favourites. we also weren’t sure if it was due to the time of year and not being super busy but we didn’t get any tables outside for the a la cartes other than the mexican which is completely outside. we celebrated a birthday and the restaurant allowed us to put up a banner and table decorations as well as giving her a cake which was a really nice touch lunch was either buffet, a la carte or pizza bar and we found it good to have different options each day but we also would order certain food and take it to other restaurants if we all fancied something different on the nights we didn’t have a booking we ate at the buffet restaurant which was always amazing, theres a nightly theme so theres always a good choice and being there for two weeks we could plan exactly what nights we wanted to eat there. the staff in the restaurant were always quick with clearing plates, getting drinks and refilling wine, they left the bottle in a cooler on the table which was good as all of us were drinking wine most nights so didn’t need to wait for a refill. they were amazing at remembering drinks orders and bringing over repeat orders that we had previously as well as ice buckets without being asked. one random thing for us was the marinated sea food dyed in extremely bright colours, having stayed at other turkish hotels this isn’t something we had seen before and we didn’t choose to try. not being fussy eaters at all this threw us off and made us avoid it even if it was potentially really yummy. a very minor observation as the rest of the buffet was exceptional mazlum was often our breakfast and lunch waiter at the buffet and was so lovely umit at the a la carte breakfast and pizza bar always really attentive yasin in the olive was fantastic bars 🥂 all the bars had a menu you could access via a qr code however if you asked for any drink it was able to be made and used premium brand alcohols or branded soft drinks in cans, bottles or fountain the luna bar and lobby bar were great for a pre and post dinner drink with outside seating available and inside seating at the lobby bar. they were really good in these bars about making sure you always had a drink and asking before you finished if you wanted another, and sometimes bringing a whole round before you could be asked which is fantastic. they had spare packs of cards if you forgot them for games as well as draughts/checkers boards ferit in luna bar always made sure we had drinks and snacks emine at the lobby bar was so sweet and always getting us fresh drinks entertainment/animation 🕺 there was a decent sized gym with enough equipment, was never too busy with no more than 5 or 6 in there at any time daria ran a morning yoga which was held in a lovely shaded area and aqua zumba in the pool in the afternoon there was volleyball twice a day every day which was popular basketball and tennis courts, we didn’t use them but believe you have to book a time slot to use it we used the spa facilities and booked in twice on the trip for different massages and turkish hamam which was amazing !! there was lots of different events put on throughout the stay which was good to add some excitement, quiz nights and bingo nights for prizes, parties, bbqs, drink trolleys, pier parties, boccia, managers cocktail party. we were there through the world cup and the games were all streamed if you wanted to watch (even the 3am game with the time frame had refreshments provided in one of the ballrooms) marwen is another member of the animation team who was a really good laugh, spent time with us as a family, showed us a few magic tricks some better than others 😉 constantly asked if we were having a good time and if there was anything we needed help with. hes only been with the hotel for a few months but a really amazing member of the team. daria was also really sweet, having chats with us and partnering up for quiz nights and showing us some really good card games, shes also fairly new to the hotel but also amazing at what she does ! we didn’t particularly choose to watch any of the evening shows however the seats were filled every night so obviously very popular with lots of the guests and had a real variety of themes each night. beach 🌊 plenty of sunloungers on the beach (always managed to get 5 beds together at any time of the day) when coming to the beach the left side we found to be quiter as you didnt hear the neighbouring hotels music so much the pier was always full of people so if you wanted a sunlounger there you needed to go early but we weren’t too fussed so not a problem for us qr code on beach tables so drinks can be ordered to your bed normally came in under 10 minutes with a variety of soft drinks, teas, coffees and beers but cocktails/liquor drinks you need to ask for at the bars yourself as not available on the qr code is a stony beach so other guests had water shoes to get in and out as it can be uncomfortable on your feet water refill station at the beach so we could fill up stanley cups/insulated bottles as to help reduce plastic waste wifi reaches the beach with no problem pools 🏊‍♀️ we dont choose to sit round the pool as we prefer the beach but they always look clean with a variety of pools to choose from. three slides in one pool, a kids splash pool a main pool and a pool with a swim up bar so plenty of choice. sunloungers are normally all being used but you do see a few not being used most days so imagine they go fairly early in the day. did see some towels getting removed if they havent been used in a while at the pool and the beach so lounger reservation does happen but is managed sometimes rooms 🛌 we had a deluxe double suite and the penthouse suite, booked the holiday a week before flying so these were the only two rooms available as we normally would just have standard rooms the deluxe suit was shared between two girls and a boy, we were able to easily navigate privacy and space etc as we had so much room (bathroom was a separate room with a door), girls shared the double bed in the bedroom and boy had the sofa bed which folded out to be a double in the lounge area. the balcony had a view of a the pools and the sea and a must was watching the sunrise as it rises directly opposite so could watch from the balcony. the penthouse had plenty of space as well and also had a seating area and balcony. the mini bar was restocked daily with beers and soft drinks, snacks and coffee pods in both rooms there was a couple of differences with the amenities kits in each room but might have been because of the room but all things we had anyway so sure if you didn’t have them you could request what you needed. housekeeping came daily and always restocked towels and left the rooms really clean each day. air con works, is slightly older and noisier than some other places but does the job fine safety box in wardrobe minimal decor and light and bright rooms as part of the birthday a card was left in the room with balloons, a cake and an extra bottle of wine ! a side note of something to do if staying in the area is to go up mount tahtali on the teleferik (cable car) we would definitely recommend as the views were amazing and was just a really cool experience to do something different ! overall we had a really lovely relaxing holiday which was really good fun, the staff really made the holiday and are all friendly, so hard working and truly made the holiday what it was so thank you all. there were lots of returning guests when we were there and we can see why !! This is my third visit to this resort, this says it all. Amazing place, spotlessly clean. Food is out of this world with something for everyone. Have to give a shout out to the animation team who are so good throughout the day and the evening. Especially Tom, who goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best holiday experience. Can’t wait to book for next year 😊

Beautiful hotel with exceptional food & drinks – but I wouldn’t return in April Our arrival into Antalya was unfortunately a nightmare. There was a huge delay waiting for our baggage followed by another long wait for our transfer. After this experience, I personally wouldn’t choose a TUI transfer again. Thankfully, arriving at Akra Kemer was a completely different experience. The entrance to the hotel is very stylish and we were treated extremely well at check-in, including being wished a happy anniversary, which was a lovely touch. Our room was great and the view was absolutely stunning. We were also really impressed with how well stocked everything was. There were drinks, snacks, plenty of tea and coffee, juices, soft drinks, beer and water in the fridge, all of which were very gratefully received after our journey. By the time we arrived, the main dining service had finished, but the staff showed us to a dining room where we were offered a small but very pleasant menu. We were starving by this point, so we really appreciated being looked after rather than simply being told that dinner had finished. There are several restaurants which can be booked through the hotel app. Unfortunately, we found these constantly showing as full, but a lovely member of staff helped us with reservations and managed to get us booked in. The food throughout our stay was excellent, as were the wines. The drinks at Akra Kemer deserve a special mention. They really are world class. Excellent top-shelf brands, beautifully made cocktails and, importantly for me, cocktails actually served in the correct glasses! The quality and presentation were superb. We enjoyed the entertainment in the main hall and particularly loved the jazz bar. The combination of the music, atmosphere, service and excellent drinks made it one of our favourite places in the hotel. The downside of visiting in April is that you don’t experience everything the hotel appears to offer during the main season. After seeing photographs and videos from guests visiting at peak times, I was actually quite jealous! Entertainment was more limited during our stay. The beach is also very stony and although the pier was open, there was no bar, entertainment or the other services around it that you see during the summer months. The lunchtime snack bars were absolutely great. We aren’t particularly keen on buffet-style eating, so having good alternatives where we could enjoy lunch was perfect for us. The weather was OK for April, although the pool was far too cold for us to use. Poolside drinks service was excellent though, including the staff delivering drinks on roller skates, which was a brilliant touch and great fun to watch. Overall, Akra Kemer is a beautiful hotel with excellent food, outstanding drinks, lovely staff and a very high standard of service. I would definitely recommend it and I would happily return. I just wouldn’t choose April next time. I would love to come back when the weather is warmer and the hotel is offering its full summer experience, because I think that is when Akra Kemer would really be at its best.
