First of all, as a huge trip advisor reader, I read so many reviews before booking this hotel and always said when I was back Id right an honest review based on my experience. So here goes... We arrived in the middle of the night and was greeted by friendly staff who took our luggage to our room and showed us the features of the room. They advised us where food was available during the night and asked if we wanted anything. This was a brilliant start. We then realised that despite it stating no towels on loungers around the pool till after 7am that that doesn't happen and seemingly people go out very early indeed. So naturally we joined the party and my partner would go down at 6.30am and loads of loungers were already gone. The pool area is immaculate, plenty of loungers and umbrellas available. The pool bar area is lovely and you can help yourself to bottled water whenever you like. The drinks are strong and there is a huge range :) the food at the pool bar is lovely if you dont fancy the buffet for lunch. You can help yourself to cornettos too :) Staff are very friendly. I will be honest that this hotel and seemingly the area is predominantly German and Russian tourists and not many English are around. However, unlike people we spoke to on the plane who had stayed elsewhere, the hotel staff including entertainment staff were always friendly and inclusive. The entertainment was great but with evenings hitting 99% humidity, we couldn't bare to be outside to watch and we often found ourselves in one of the indoor cooler bars. You are entitled to one a la carte experience per week you stay and we chose to do the Turkish evening for ours and it was brilliant! Izra, is an unreal server and worked so so hard. What a lovely man :) The food at this hotel is vast and so much variety. I think people who aren't happy with food choice are perhaps a little less willing to try new things. We tried a range of food and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was fresh, variable and there was plenty. The room we stayed in (superior one) was lovely. Enormous balcony and a lovely bathroom. A strange window between the bathroom and main room (although had blinds) didnt entirely protect privacy but no issue to us. The only little annoyance for us was that we had 2 singles pushed together and often came apart. We ventured to the amazing market in mangavgt (spelt wrong!) that's on on a Monday and Thursday. Bus stop is just outside of hotel at top of street and ia definitely worth a visit. The foam party on Wednesday is a laugh and worth joining in. Overall, we've no complaints with our experience at the Royal Alba and would have no hesitation visiting again.
Fabulous hotel. Staff all very friendly, and very helpful. The food was was amazing,so much choice at every meal. Rooms spotlessly clean. I would recommend this hotel ,and will definitely go back again.
If you don’t speak German don’t go here. We were the only English couple there and everything revolved around them Definitely not a 5 star hotel , although very clean and nice staff but very tired, probably in today’s world 3 star. Admittedly we were there in the low season but it would have been nice to be told beforehand that 1) Two out of three Al La Carte restaurants were closed 2) The third Al La Carte restaurant was only open for four nights for the week we were there 3) Night club closed 4) Beach Bar closed 5) Buffet restaurant basically German food with very little variation each night 6) Superior rooms only have showers over the Bath, no walk in showers so not suitable if you have any mobility problems. 7) Not one English TV channel 8) Most of the daily entertainment was non existent. This was probably the worst holiday I have ever had and would never go back
They ought to have a sign above the door Alba Royal (GERMANS ONLY) If you're an English person, forget going here. There's no English breakfast. The food is cross contaminated and is the same every night. It's that bad, I felt we were in Germany. Will NOT be going back again. People are allowed to smoke everywhere, so if you're a non smoker, you have to put up with it. The Germans basically take over the place. DON'T GO.
Here as 3 English couples. First the negative Very hard beds and pillows, air conditioning in the communal areas is not maintained as constantly drips on you . Lack of entertainment inside the indoor bars and very bad piped music (Xmas songs in August ) food needs to be hotter . Positive Staff are fab and extremely helpful, food though sometimes cold is very tasty . Entertainment team ok but Rambo is fab . Not very many English guests in the hotel
