Hello, I would like to share my experience at Asteria Family Resort Side, as it may help others when choosing a resort. I found very little information about this resort on this page, so I hope this post will be useful to others. I’ll start with our first day. When we were taken to our room, I was honestly shocked by what I found. You can get an idea of what the room looked like from the attached photos. The food was also very limited in terms of variety, with a strong emphasis on chicken. On only one occasion during our stay was beef served at one of the meals. The taste of the food left a lot to be desired. Adding a handful of salt improves the taste somewhat, but without salt, it was sometimes difficult to even tell what you were eating. The windows are very basic, so you can hear practically every conversation your neighbors have on their balconies as if they were speaking directly to you. The same applies to the walls — they seem to be paper-thin. Housekeeping is done every day, but they basically clean using only water, without any cleaning solution. Even though we left what I would consider a decent tip for two days in a row — $10 each day, hoping that the room would be cleaned more thoroughly — unfortunately, nothing changed. On the beach, cleaning starts at around 10 a.m., so you may actually see the beach being swept while you are walking on it. The entrance into the sea is rocky, so water shoes are definitely recommended, and the water gets deep almost immediately. On two of the days, we had no hot water in the shower. On the other days, it took around five minutes just to get the temperature right, and even then the water temperature would change significantly, at times becoming dangerously hot. If you judge the resort based on what you see outside rather than the rooms, it is a beautiful resort. The problem starts when you end up in certain rooms. We eventually changed rooms for the rather "modest" amount of €200, and the room we received afterwards was indeed acceptable — not luxurious, but acceptable. In conclusion, I would rate this as a maximum 3-star resort, and even that would be with some indulgence. Tripadvisor currently gives it a 4.1 rating, but honestly, I feel that many of those who gave it the highest ratings did not place much importance on cleanliness. I was not expecting luxury, but I was at least expecting a clean room. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this resort. On the contrary, based on our experience, I would advise others to consider their options carefully before booking.
A budget-friendly hotel with a very good price-performance ratio! We had a great stay overall. Recommended if you know what to expect. Territory is the highlight of the hotel! It is huge, beautifully landscaped, clean, and very peaceful with a resort-sanatorium vibe. Lots of greenery, and wildlife (lizards, hedgehogs, ducks by the river, and cats). Our room had cosmetic repairs, but some elements are quite worn (closet, bathroom door, switches). Everything functions properly, and daily cleaning is solid (towels changed, bed made, sand removed). Mini-bar includes only water. Large pools with plenty of sun loungers. The beach is spacious with generous spacing between rows. The sea entrance has rocks and natural stone plates, so water shoes are a must (or swim directly from the pier). Thanks to these plates, there are fish to see while snorkeling. Good selection of food and quality overall. Great variety of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables (grilled, stewed, fried). Breakfast is rich with eggs cooked all ways (including menemen and spinach/onion bake), cheeses, olives, cold cuts, sujuk, pancakes, and fresh pastries. Snack bars offer burgers, nuggets, fries, pasta, decent pizza, turkey patties, and fresh gözleme. Ice cream is available both at the beach (packaged) and the pool snack bar (delicious cone ice cream). A la carte is nice for a change of scene by the sea. Coffee from automatic machines is mediocre, but better coffee machines are available in the lobby, coffee shop, and beach bar. Wine glasses in the main restaurant were often spotty/dirty (we asked for regular water glasses instead). Friendly, attentive animators in the kids club who come around the beach and pool to share the daily schedule. Our daughter attended several activities and had a lot of fun. Wi-Fi is fast and stable throughout the entire property.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and were very happy with our experience! The hotel is beautiful, the atmosphere is lovely, and everything was well organized. We especially enjoyed the activities for children, particularly the mini disco. Our little one had so much fun! A special thank you to the lovely girls who work with the children — they were kind, friendly, energetic and truly made the activities even more enjoyable. We really appreciate all the effort they put into making the children happy and entertained. We would definitely recommend this hotel to families with children and would love to come back again! ❤️

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY! One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. We paid for Ultra All Inclusive, but what we received was nowhere near what we expected. When we arrived, we were given a room with two bedrooms and a living room, but the first room had mold and a horrible smell. We went to reception and asked to change rooms. After a lot of insisting and a very unpleasant attitude from the reception staff, they eventually changed our room. We hoped things would get better. Unfortunately, they didn’t. The second room was full of cobwebs, dust and had a terrible smell. We decided to stay because we did not want to waste even more time changing rooms again. The next day, however, our 3-year-old child woke up with bites all over his legs. When we moved the bed, we discovered that it was FULL of ants underneath it. We immediately went to reception and asked them to fumigate the room. We insisted twice. A few hours later, we returned to the room and... the ants were still there! We were told that the room had been treated, but the reality clearly showed otherwise. Because of the bites, our child developed an allergic reaction and we had to take him to a doctor. For us, this was completely unacceptable. We are talking about a 3-year-old child and basic hygiene conditions in a hotel room. Overall, the hotel is extremely poorly maintained. There is dirt, insects and a serious lack of hygiene. As for the Ultra All Inclusive service: ❌ Mini-bar: only one still water and one sparkling water. ❌ Drinks: served in plastic cups. ❌ Drinks selection: very limited. For example, we asked for a Hugo and were told they did not have it. ❌ Staff: unfriendly attitude and a lack of respect towards guests. ❌ Food: repetitive, basically the same every day. ❌ There were many flies around the restaurant and food areas. ❌ We had the impression that food left over from lunch was being reused for dinner, mixed with other cold cuts and vegetables. ❌ There is no proper kids' corner. ❌ On our first evening, we needed milk for our child. It took approximately one hour to get it because we were sent from one member of staff to another. ❌ The swimming pools are okay in terms of size, but they were full of sand. ❌ Access to the sea is difficult from the hotel's beach because of the rocks at the entrance. To get into the sea more easily, you have to walk towards the beach of the neighboring resort. But the most important issue for us was our child. Seeing your 3-year-old covered in bites, discovering ants underneath the bed and then having to take him to a doctor because of an allergic reaction is simply unacceptable. We paid for a holiday and Ultra All Inclusive conditions, not for mold, insects, dirt and poor hygiene. We were honestly just relieved to get home safely and that we did not end up with food poisoning or other serious digestive problems. For us, this holiday was a complete disappointment. We will never return to this hotel and we absolutely do not recommend it.
