Barut Hemera

Very much enjoyed visiting the Barut Hemera for a very relaxing week. Probably not the best for older teenagers but great for couples, and.younger kids. The key positives are the staff, probably the best service we've had out of 5 or 6 different Turkish AI hotels we've visited over the years. Welcome was done very well, better than any other hotel we've been to. Food and drinks very good especially the international a La carte which we thought was the best a La carte we've been to anywhere in Turkey. Also went to Turkish a La carte which was nice, especially the mezzies but service not quite as good. It's not a super large hotel which is nice for a more chilled holiday but as a result the food choice isn't as large as some hotels such as Liberty Lykia where we went last year. The quality is very good though. Main thing I missed food wise was some nice tasting smoothies, they only did some veg based "detox" ones which although healthy were horrible tasting, a choice of just a fruit based smoothie would have been nice. The cut fruit selection in buffet could have been a little better as well. Cocktails were pretty good esp in lobby bar and didn't really need to go to the bar at hotel as staff table service was so good and quick. QR codes around pool to order drinks also worked well. Rooms were generally fine, not the largest but fine and beds were comfy. Although the drains did smell a bit in our room. I suspect that maybe only affected a few rooms. They did fix a towel rail that had become loose very quickly and without even asking, I think the cleaner noticed. Beach area was nice as well, not too cramped and looked the highest quality of all hotels along the prom what I could see. Gardens and planting very nice and definitely made really nice use of the space. The pattiserie was lovely to have a drink and cake with a varied and quality selection. The 1 heated pool was fine to get into for April, some people in other pools but too cold for me. Would be fine later in the year. Side centre around the harbour and Roman ruins definitely worth a visit, about 30-40 mins walk along the prom with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. All in all a great location and would return, looked to me like the 3 Barut hotels in Side (Hemera, Cennet and Arum) definitely looked the most inviting of all hotels the prom.

The Hemera is without doubt, an example of excellence. We have been coming to this hotel multiple times a year for over 20 years and never tire of it. The food is superb and the staff are wonderful; the service in all areas is exceptional. The a la cartes are a really good experience but the buffet is equally good. The gardens are beautiful and the whole hotel is clean and well cared for. I am returning next week.

we have stayed at this hotel before we where due to go to another hotel but where contacted by jet2 to say building work was being done at at hotel next door so we opted to go here while we where away it was my husbands birthday we said we did not want any fuss so on the day we had a few drinks in the afternoon and went back to our room around 3.30pm we noticed the cleaners had not been on and they arrived when we got so we told them we did not want the room doing I went to sleep and my husband said he went out again when I woke up I noticed someone had been in the room while I was asleep which was frightening to think someone was in the room and I did not know until I woke about 7 pm also I did not know if my husband was in the room or no I t brought this to the attention of the guest relations who said i should have put do not disturb sign on I was not expecting anyone to come in so I did not they said they have time limits for things to be delivered it as just the fact someone had been in the room they could have taken anything or worse I was waiting for a reply from guest relations who said they would get back to us were waiting for a reply which we did not get while there the holiday was also spoilt by the weather which hampered the things we could do outside enjoyed the burger bar outside but had to put umbrellas up when it rained `for us to eat our meals
