Barut Hemera

We stayed at the Barut Hemera for 4 nights. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest welcome from the reception team. We were then shown to the lobby bar where we were served a drink and they came over to us with the key and check in paperwork. When we were ready, we were shown to our room along with someone to take our bags. The room was a Superior Land View and it was absolutely lovely. Clean and modern with so many little touches: a complimentary bottle of wine and some fruit, a stocked mini bar with soft drinks, Nespresso coffee and pods and a complimentary glass individual drinking bottle. The hotel doesn't use plastic bottles for water, only purified water in glass which was a lovely touch. We also got a complimentary tote bag with the hotel's beach towels inside, and it was so perfect for using on the beach and by the pool, we bought another one from reception (for around £4.50). The food in the restaurants is absolutely delicious. There is so much choice and it is all so fresh and tasty. The service throughout the food and beverage places is excellent too. In particular, Iren (from the Hemera Bar) was so warm and so friendly. She really made us feel special! Our one included special meal at Akdeniz was great, but the buffet in Hemera Restaurant was equally as good. The beach bar serves great lunch time food too. Patisserie items are lovely and so much choice, the coffee is good..... there really are no negatives where food and beverage is concerned. Alcoholic beverages are all premium and these guys know how to mix a cocktail! The pool area is relaxing and inviting and the beach bar area is chilled. It is located on the seafront boardwalk which takes you on foot into Side old town within 30 mins at a decent pace. We met a lady in the old town whilst having a drink and, after chatting for a bit, she revealed she was on her 5th visit to Barut Hemera and each time she returned, the same staff made a fuss of her each year. I would agree in that the staff really are helpful, warm and attentive. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully maintained and landscaping is the focus here. Very beautiful. A small selection of shops, a cinema room, an outdoor bar by the pool, a spa with complimentary sauna and steam room and an indoor pool for relaxing.... we couldn't have asked for any more. The area around the hotel and the old town of Side was very quiet, like a ghost town, but this is due to the time of year. Otherwise the location is great for walking and exploring, and the beachfront walk to the old town was beautiful. The only thing we experienced that was less than perfect was a situation with the air conditioning in our room. We experienced a few issues during our stay - from it being too warm, to not working at all... but each time we reported it, the staff sorted things out straight away. It really is a wonderful hotel, so it didn't affect our stay at all. I expected a lot from Barut Hemera based on the excellent reviews, and I have to say it is one of the best All Inclusive resorts I have stayed in anywhere (and I am cabin crew and have been flying for over 25 years). Will ABSOLUTELY be returning to this resort.

Best holiday ever. This is second time we have visited and it only gets better. The Hotel is spotless, the staff are the best so friendly and helpful such an asset to the Hotel. Food very varied and plentiful. There is nothing negative to say about such a great place. Big thank you to Vural in Guest Relations he could not do enough to make our holiday perfect and also to Yijit in the coffee shop who went out of his way to help especially with my husbands Turkish (not an easy task). We both love this Hotel and hope to return again in February next year to meet up with old friends and hopefully some new ones.

This was our fourth visit in four years and it will not be our last . We’re already thinking of our return . I wrote a very detailed review on the last occasion and would encourage prospective guests to have a look … and the one before . Everything remains at a very high standard which is a credit to the management of the hotel given the state of the economy , inflation and the Turkish lira in particular . We had the loveliest time after a difficult year last year dominated by boring medical things . We arrived at the Barut Hemera and felt like a million dollars immediately and that remained the case throughout our five week stay . We were sad to leave . It was such a great happy relaxing time for us . Thank you enormously to Mr Izzet , Mr Burcin and to all the fabulous staff . You’re the best ; all of you . … Kuzeyda ( housekeeping was brilliant too and should be mentioned .. so hard working and thoughtful ) Since returning I’ve had some nice comments about my haircut .. thanks Mumin .. see you soon ! First time at this hotel and will definitely be returning. The hotel is set in beautiful green area with trees, plants and fruit plants. Down a path from hotel is the beach and promenade which has a lovely walk into Side old town. The bedrooms are spacious, with coffee pods/ tea and coffee and fridge filled daily. The shower was good and always had hot water. All the surroundings were spotlessly clean and comfortable. The restaurant had a good selection of food and always hot. They have all the branded drinks in the all inclusive which was a bonus. The staff were all friendly and would do anything to help.

We have just returned from a full 5 weeks at the Barut Hemera. This was our fourth visit in 4 years. We love the setting for a winter holiday. The walk along the passeo is delightful and it's wonderful to escape from the terrible weather in northern Europe at this time of year. There is an outdoor pool heated to 26°C . The staff are exemplary and go above and beyond.Several stand out. Janna our waitress for breakfast and lunch. Yigit who runs the delightful patisserie. This is the hub of the hotel during the winter months. The young man who makes sushi several times a week at dinner. This sushi is a very high standard and there is always a queue. The food is extremely varied and very fresh. The array of fruit and salads never fails to delight even after 5 weeks! Try the fresh walnuts with some burrata or ezine with olives rocket, lemon and olive oil. The wines served are excellent especially the red Isabey in the a la carte. The German style breads are amazing. We miss everything and are already looking forward to returning next year
