Spent a week at the AQI Hydros in September. Overall, was it 5 star (as advertised)? In our opinion no, not in comparison to other 5 star hotels in the same area. However we did enjoy our stay for the price we paid, and there are lots of positives: - Hotel spotlessly clean - this is the main thing for us so we were really happy with the cleaning of our rooms (daily), the pool area and all other communal spaces. Whatever the time of day or night, staff were working to keep areas clean. - Staff were all really friendly and always had a smile. This was true at reception, at the bar and in the restaurants. - Location was great. Lovely walk along the waterfront or on the main road to busier shopping, bars and restaurant areas of Kemer. We walked both directions from the hotel (do it at night as it's too hot during the day!) and found lots going on if you want a change from the hotel. - Beach - the hotel has it's own pier and stretch of pebble beach. Not for everyone as some will prefer a sandy beach but we're not fans of sand and much prefer the pebbles. We both bought reasonably cheap swim shoes and went into the sea every day which was far warmer than the pool. - Pool/ bar - two good sized pool areas, one with music and games and the other a quiet pool. Life guard in attendance at both. Each has its own smaller/ kids pool area. The main bar is in the middle so easily walkable from each pool. The quiet pool does have its own bar which is sometimes staffed but not all day. The toilets in both areas were again always clean and not at all dingy like in some other (more expensive) hotels. - Rooms - We had a standard double room with partial sea view/ partially looking onto the neighbouring hotel. The room was big, clean and had good air con. The bed was comfortable. - Food in main buffet was generally good, we always found plenty to eat. Lots of fresh salad, olives, breads and always fish which we love. Baklava was amazing! There were theme nights although it wasn't always entirely obvious what the theme was. One night seemed to be a mix of Chinese and Italian so a bit confused. We only tried the Italian specialty restaurant of the 3 available (fish restaurant costs extra and the menu didn't seem worth it when there was plenty of fish at the buffet) and it was amazing, SO much food and really lovely. - Good wifi throughout. Some downsides: - Only one bar other than the disco later on some evenings. Not something which can be changed and it was advertised before we arrived so more just a flag if you get bored easily, there are no real options for different areas for a drink during the day or at night. It can get busy after dinner so finding a table can be difficult. - Pool/ beach/ pier sun loungers - constantly "reserved" with towels from the crack of dawn every day, often with no one returning to them for hours at a time. There are no signs to say this is not allowed. When on holiday I don't want to have to get up early so this can be really frustrating. Not an issue as the bar are close by, but there is no pool service for drinks. - Wine/ cocktails on the All Inclusive are not great. You can pay for other drinks but defeats the purpose of paying for AI. Beer is good though. - Coffee in the buffet area is terrible! Makes no difference which option you choose from the machines (americano, latte, cappuccino), they all taste the same. Very weak with no real coffee flavour. Best to go to the Coffee House, still a machine but tastes far better. - Entertainment - during our week stay, there were maybe only 3 nights with shows at the amphitheatre (other than the kids entertainment). The shows we watched were quite good but the other nights were either music at the main bar (not to our taste but lots of people seemed to be enjoying themselves) or just a late night disco. A bit lacking in diversity and effort. - Rooms - Personal issue which might bother most people but I really hate not having a full length mirror in the room. This would be an easy fix. No mini bar unless paid for separately but we did get big bottles of water replaced daily which was welcome. As is evident from the majority of reviews, most guests at this hotel are Russian (majority) or German so, understandably, food and entertainment is geared towards their tastes and needs. Not a criticism, just something to be aware of, for example if you are an English speaker you will struggle to find a TV channel you can watch. We enjoyed our stay and felt like the good points outweighed any little niggles. Appreciate that there are various criteria for a 5 star rating including facilities (spa/ sauna/ tennis and other sports) which we didn't take advantage of but for us this hotel is more 4 star and not "luxury" in all areas. For the price we paid which was quite a bit less than a 5 star in a nearby area last year, this was a good option.

The hotel is a wonderful place to stay, near the seaside, with the good food but the most important are people who work there- professional and helpful. I would like to name a few of them: especially Ebru and from animation team Yassine from Tunisia. Thank you so much!
