Hotel Aska Lara Resort Spa

The rooms are lovely and clean only down side is we had requested a double bed when arrived was 2 single beds we went down and asked for the double bed that we booked and paid for as 2 singles put together is rather uncomfortable and feel like your falling through the middle. Got told it would be changed the next day it wasn’t. View is lovely from the main hotel pool view. We were on the 7th floor. Food wise I wouldn’t really say for the 5 nights it was worth the money we had paid there decently wasn’t much options there was 1 night the food was nice basic but nice wet n wild seem to have nicer food understand there is loads of nationality but I think we had lived of pasta and then had to stop because it ended up being spicy we had got grilled meatballs one night and they were pink inside we had stayed at santurn palace across the road previously there is a lot more options for food and outside it’s all cooked fresh. I’d say the only upside of Aska Lara is the water park The shop within the hotel is more than expensive we paid 11 pound for a packet of crisps and 2 small sweets he seemed to always press something on his computer. The Nivea lip balm was 7 pound understand hotel shops tend to be more expensive but it was ridiculous prices. We had emailed to request late check out but no answer the reception told us to go down and ask on the morning of as they no when people are coming to hotel I found that fair I had went down the next morning and they said had to be out the room for check out time also understand that but between half past 10 and 11:50 we had 2 staff coming to the door and then 3 times called to tell us check out day we said we new it was at 12 we were packing then called again same answer then once more. I find it absolutely ridiculous the amount of money to stay and there rushing your check out time!

We have just returned from hotel, and have mixed reviews on different aspects of our stay. Our family room was dissapointing, a little small for a family of four and in my opinion could do with a full revamp, i can only persume other rooms also could do with this. The pools are all ok within the the hotel grounds, but all where cold, and i mean cold, even the indoor pool was not heated, so this was also cold. The wet n wild park our grandchild loved, slides and more slides, once again pools where very cold. The shuttle bus took you there and back, and you could walk it in five minutes, so no problems there. We ate in snack bars at wet and wild through out the days, and had no issues with them. We then ate in main hotel restaurants for breakfast and evening meal, breakfast as fine, but evening meals found bland, lack of choice and most foods where luke war, or cold. Drinks - we like a couple of drinks while on holiday, like most, but it might be a personal choice i'am not a fan of cheap plastic disposable cups to have a cocktail, glass of wine or even a larger in, surley the hotel could but more of a rigid plastic cups. The evening drinks in panoma bar where served in glasses, but if you like a certain cocktail dont expect teh same drink twice, soem to strong some no alchohol, carnt get me head around that. The bottled beers within the panoma bar, i never got a cold one, always luke warm. On one night as for a Smirnoff Vodka with sprite, not sure what i got but was not Smirnoff vodka or even vodka, other guest who we spoke to had same issues. Overhaul hotel has pros and cons, but not for us, and will not return, we have stopped in several hotels throughtout Lara Beach and Belek, and this is just not up to our expectations for what we paid .

Just returned with my 6 month old and 5 year old and the hotel and resort was perfect for both ages. Lots of different pools, slides and much more for kids. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best when we was there so we spent a few days indoors because of rain. We did bowling, indoor pool and sat in the bar area which was lovely. Starbucks is amazing and taste just like at home! Hotel is very clean and we had such a spacious room, was very impressed. Staff are lovely but what does let the hotel down is the activity team. We saw them a handful of times only they never came and spoke to us or offered us to take part in any activities. My husband played darts once and that was because he walked past and saw. Also we had no pool party, no water polo, no pool games and the activity team came across very lazy. This is such a shame as other turkey hotels offer so much better and we really enjoy this part of the holiday. Food was alright, they had lots of variety but would have like to have seen ‘themed’ nights for food as lots of other hotels in turkey do this and it’s nice to see. Really unsure whether we would return here as a few things were not as good as expected and in comparison to other hotels. However value for money I think it was overall good.

We’ve visited this hotel a couple of times, previously in October and in June for the first time. Nice hotel but we certainly noticed quite a few things which had lost their touch, need looked at. Check in and rooms Hotel check in was seamless and the staff were lovely. When we went to our room, I have to say we were disappointed again. A family of 4 and only 3 beds, we ended up waiting over an our for an additional bed having already travelled all day. Rooms are ok, quite small for a family of 4, could do with a revamp. We also had issues with our door not locking. We were on floor 5, near the end; was quiet enough Generally the rooms are tired and need renovation. We also didn’t rate the cleaners and on 4 occasions never got new tiles and had to go asking for this too. Fridge also wasn’t restocked 4 days either and we had to chase. Food In the main restaurant Food was ok although the standard (nuggets/chips/pizza) were only available certain nights. Generally it was ok and our lot stuck to chips to be honest. Down at the water park, the food was much better and our lot made the most of food during the day. Baked potatoes, crepes, ice creams, fish - they really enjoyed everything! Highly recommend this bit for food. We did 2 x ala carte restaurant, steak and Chinese. Chinese was 10/10 - highly recommend 100%! Starbucks is great but queue in July is unbelievable Entertainment Really can’t fault it - pool parties, activities, night time is fantastic - really great atmosphere Spa Have to be honest we’ve done the spa 3 x previous and this time it just wasn’t great. They were constantly selling stuff and during a facial the women continued to try and sign me into another treatment for £300 telling me I really needed it. Also we were forgotten about in the relaxation area when waiting for the next treatment so wasn’t ideal and they cut the treatment short as they “ran late” Sunbeds If you want a lie in this is not the one. We had to go down at 7.30am every morning to get beds for a family of 4, it was unbelievable. Sometimes we would lie in and go for 10am and there was no beds and we’d end up on grass.

Aska Lara is an absolutely beautiful hotel, with impressive facilities, plenty to do and lots of potential to be an amazing family holiday destination. One of the main things that attracted us to the hotel was the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and while I agree with some of them, I do feel that certain aspects are misleading, particularly when it comes to the food, cleanliness and overall family-friendly experience. Food and Dining One of the biggest disappointments for us was the food. Having read so many reviews praising the amazing food and variety, we expected much more. Unfortunately, the food was often cold, and the menu was virtually identical every single evening. For a hotel of this size and standard, I expected much more variety, particularly for children. Considering this is marketed as a family hotel, I was genuinely surprised by the limited choice for younger guests. If you are a picky eater, be prepared to live on chips and spaghetti Bolognese for the week! The hotel was also incredibly overcrowded. Finding a table at breakfast, lunch or dinner was a struggle at pretty much any time of day. It got so busy that the hotel even opened the kids’ club to accommodate guests for dinner. I honestly cannot imagine how hectic it must be during the peak summer season. Snack options throughout the day were also disappointing. Other than the same ready-salted crisps at the bar, snack time largely consisted of leftovers from lunch rather than a decent selection of fresh snacks. The staff often went above and beyond to serve and ensure you always had a drink in hand. Crowds and Guest Behaviour While the hotel itself cannot be held responsible for the behaviour of every guest, the sheer lack of consideration from other holidaymakers really affected our experience. We travelled with our baby, so using the lifts with her pram was essential. On numerous occasions, we stood waiting for around 10 minutes, only for able-bodied guests to push in front of us and take the lift first. The same thing happened when queuing for the bus to Wet & Wild. This wasn’t an isolated incident; it happened repeatedly throughout our stay. Meal times were no different, with people regularly pushing past others who were already waiting in queues. Unfortunately, the general lack of courtesy made an already overcrowded hotel feel even more stressful. Another issue was the noise at night. A lot of the nightlife continues until around 2 am, and we regularly heard intoxicated guests running up and down the corridors shouting. Our own neighbours were shouting and swearing at each other at 4 am on a regular basis, despite having children with them. This made it difficult to get a decent night’s sleep and really took away from the family-friendly atmosphere we had expected. Wet & Wild and the Bars Wet & Wild was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. There is plenty to do, and the food selection there was great. Although the bus can seem a little inconvenient, it isn’t too bad, and the walk is only around five minutes. In the evenings, however, the main bar was consistently packed, with huge queues for drinks. We often chose to sit at the Brasserie bar instead, which was much quieter and still offered a good selection of drinks. All entertainment is over at wet and wild so consider this when booking as you have to get a bus or walk over and during peak times this can be chaos. Facilities and Additional Costs Don’t be misled by the advertised cinema, bowling and games centre if you’re expecting these to be included in your all-inclusive package. These facilities come at an additional cost. The same applies to the à la carte restaurants, which also require extra payment. I think this is important for future guests to know when budgeting for their holiday, as these extras can add up. Room Cleanliness and Maintenance Unfortunately, the standard of housekeeping and maintenance was another let-down. Our room never felt particularly clean and was often left looking grubby. On one rainy day, we returned to our room at around 4 pm to find it still hadn’t been cleaned. This happened on two occasions, meaning our room went without cleaning for the day. Our toilet was also broken for the entire week and wouldn’t flush properly. When we contacted reception, a maintenance worker came to inspect it, scratched his head and simply told us to flush it, as though we hadn’t already tried that several times! The issue was never resolved during our stay, which was incredibly frustrating. Overall Verdict It’s such a shame because Aska Lara has so much potential. The hotel itself is beautiful, Wet & Wild is fantastic, and there are plenty of facilities to keep families entertained. However, the overcrowding, repetitive and often cold food, limited children’s choices, poor housekeeping, unresolved maintenance issues and inconsiderate behaviour from other guests really let it down. For us, the experience simply didn’t live up to the expectations created by the glowing reviews. We came away feeling disappointed, particularly because we chose this hotel for a family holiday with our baby and expected a more comfortable, enjoyable and family-friendly experience. Personally, I wouldn’t return to Aska Lara and wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family based on our experience. It’s a real shame, because with better organisation, more variety in the food, improved cleanliness and maintenance, and a better overall guest experience, this could be an absolutely fantastic hotel.
