Hotel Eftalia Village

This is a nice holiday. ROOM - it was a good size with a great shower although the walls are really thin and you can hear next door. FOOD - really enjoyed the food and a good variety, if you have a fussy eater there’s chips, plain pasta, burgers. My husband did get food poisoning. BAR - it was limited, not cocktails unless you pay £10, gin,vodka, wine and beer but only beer and wine on the island. EXTRAS- there is a lot of extras that you need to pay for like cocktails, ice cream, popcorn, waffles, also people trying to sell stuff like tattoos, cocktails, massages and eye pictures. Overall it was an ok holiday

Having read a few negative reviews we were feeling apprehensive about our holiday at Eftalia Village. Lots of people were mentioning upgrading to other hotels and we'd decided prior to arriving that we would do that as we hadn't been on holiday in a while and really wanted to have the best time that we could. On arrival we weren't offered an upgrade. We asked and were told there was none available so we felt disappointed but decided to give Village a go. Our first impressions were good. The staff offered us bread and soup as we arrived late but we'd had a private transfer so had stopped on the way anyway. We were shown to our room which was plum block room 1085. This was a ground floor and although we thought the room was spacious and the bathroom nice the balcony seemed small and didn't have enough chairs for our party of four as we like to start our days and end them on the balcony playing cards ect. We woke on our first day to sunshine which was a nice surprise because the forecast hadn't been great. We're early risers so went for breakfast at 8am and it was pleasantly quiet. It was very much what we'd expect from an all inclusive Turkish breakfast as we walked in however there is a really good selection of cereals and fruits and breads and then at the grill section at the back there was fresh made omelettes, toastie machines and of course pancakes with Nutella and syrup so my kids were happy. This was the same daily throughout our holiday and after breakfast we collected towels from the spa and never ever had an issue getting sunbeds at either pool or down at the island. The pools were cold, this would be more enjoyable in the height of summer but I found them too cold, my kids and husband never complained though and by the mid heat of the day I could bear them too. My kids enjoyed the pool slides and the island slides but we spent most days down by the main pool because the bar stays open longer. The daytime pool entertainment seemed good. We didn't get involved but there was water games and darts and table tennis and at night there was mini discos ect we usually went for a walk along the island to the amphitheatre and went to our balcony so can't really comment on that but we did play bingo one night and we won. The snack bars are also different and we found the slide pool snack bar had a better variety of food to the main pool however the island food court was great! The staff throughout our stay were lovely. Sevan in the restaurant was so attentive and remembered us daily even reserving a table for us. The food at lunch and dinner was pleasantly wonderful and I have no complaints. I am not fussy and love trying new foods and there was a lot of variety but always had chips, nuggets, spaghetti and pizzas along the back wall and toastie machines so I don't see how even picky eaters wouldn't feel catered for. My whole family ate really well. I had seen people saying there isn't even free fresh orange at breakfast and there wasn't as it was freshly squeezed and priced at 2 euro but there was a selection of coffee, fruit teas, cherry juice, lemon juice, apple juice and strawberry juice as well as water and hot chocolates all included so there's plenty of choice. The bars were nice and yes the selection is just beers and wine or pop and then you could have vodka gin or whisky and although definitely not as strong as back home we had no complaints there. We're tippers so felt we were looked after and I know you shouldn't have too but a 200 lira tip is not a lot and it shows gratitude to how hard the staff work, they remember you and bring you proper glasses to the table when you're low we hardly had to go to the bar on an evening. The hotel walk ways are lined with fresh fruit and olives growing and the staff were harvesting these daily which I thought was a lovely touch and there's a games room for kids which my two enjoyed especially when we had a couple of rainy days. There was plenty to do in the area. The island is nice there's shops and restaurants up the road. We visited Blue Shark and Ruzgar while we were there and both had great drinks and atmosphere but I found the food in Blue Shark a bit crap. The shops were OK and we spent a fortune on those genuine fakes. We enjoyed two excursions that we booked through Tony Montana at the top of the road. We did a relax boat trip and an ancient city Side excursion which took us to Musgavat lake on a catamaran and we had a gorgeous dinner over the lake and we enjoyed these a lot. A special mention to our cleaner who was fantastic! Our room was kept spotless, we had fresh towels and extra blankets daily and the most amazing towel art that always made us smile, she even came to find us to say goodbye on our last day. I'm so glad we didn't end up upgrading to a different hotel because I don't think we'd have gotten the nice friendly family orientated atmosphere that we got at Village if we had. Thank you for an amazing holiday. Please don't listen to negative reviews your holiday is what you make it and we enjoyed our time at Eftalia Village.

Family with 3 children 1, 4 and 6. My honest opinion from a simple traveller with few holidays in my life from 3 to 5 star hotel is to choose something else if you want to be respected. I am still here on my last night of 11. Good point and the only one are facilities regarding pools, aqua park and access to the eftalia island which is amazing and that's it. From 1st day we had a room opposite reception at 2nd floor ( 3 little kids) where the music is loud until 2300 and until 0100am they serve drinks extracost where people sit just under of window making a lot of noise ( nothing wrong with that people are on holiday to have fun) but give my room to them, still on 1st day at dinner time people are queuing from 1815 and the dinner starts at 1830 to find out later the reason was that is no table to find until 1930 and to find only left over to eat. Second apart of 2-3 waiters and 2 bartender and 2 reception people you can't find any nice person, in special a tall guy at the entrance of the restaurant which is so rude ,was shouting at my wife that is no tables and to come back in 30min ( did not know at all inclusive buffet you need reservation or to eat when the staff want) still was not a problem if it was some manners. Atmosphere probably 3 out of 10, food ( I'm not fussy) 8 out of 10 , cleaning is done every day but never mop the floor that it will be 8 out of 10, location 9 out of 10. BTW the glass window is like doesn't exist you can hear everything from outside. Overall I'll never come back at this hotel but I'll have a go to one of his 5star sister hotel. ( BTW worse all inclusive regarding drinks buy some proper drinks from airport you'll tank me later).

As our stay in Turkey concludes, we have found the overall experience enjoyable, noting in particular the friendly hotel staff and the professional, creative efforts of the housekeeping team. However, we encountered a significant issue regarding a prearranged hair braiding service for our daughter. After a delayed arrival, the service provider, Ahmed, exhibited unprofessional conduct and attempted to increase the previously agreed-upon price from €25 to €40. This interaction was highly unsatisfactory and caused considerable distress to our family.

This hotel is not 5 stars, it's 3 plus in Jet2 holidays, but I think it should be 3. The rooms are not isolated at all, you can hear your neighbours coughing and talking. It's not a family hotel, there were load young groups making noise till 1-2am in the morning. The only nice staff was restaurant, massage centre and housekeeping. Rooms were made up every day and were clean. Food was delicious,but repetitive. Reception was not helpful at all, there is a lady there that would not even look at you while speaking on several occasions. Entertainment was very poor. We didn't try the island one, so it might have been better. Both slides at the hotel and aqua park worked 10-11.45 am and then 2-5pm, so not a full day. Ice cream was available for 2 hours only with 2 flavours only. The beach was amazing! Overall, not what you would expect as service in Turkey. I wouldn't go back to this hotel, maybe to the rest of the group, but if only friends recommend them. Not value for money at all!
