Hotel Side Star Resort

Returned from 10 days at Side Star resort at the end of August and loved it. Having paid extra for a sea view, on arrival we were pleased to find out room was overlooking the pool with sea views beyond. The hotel has a lovely pool area and plenty of sun beds plus easy access to the beach with a golf cart doing regular shuttle runs. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied during the day and a great animation team providing entertainment, pool games, a weekly pool party etc. All of the staff were friendly and helpful however two stood out from the rest during our stay. Mamet looked after us when we sat outside the pool bar in the evenings ensuring there was always a friendly welcome and plenty of drinks on the table. Ishmael was one of the animation team and in addition to some great aqua gym classes, always had time to stop and chat by the pool or in the evenings. He, along with the reception staff were very helpful when my partner left her phone in the taxi after a trip back from Side resulting in the phone being back in her hands within 30 minutes of losing it! In all a great hotel, the room we had was the best we've had on any of our holidays, and the hotel staff went the extra mile to make it memorable.Will definitely go back at some point.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. Our first visit and it did not disappoint. The location is great local to shops and few bars , a short walk onto the beach, it’s a little hill back up but there is a 7 seater golf buggy going up and down if you don’t want to walk. The hotel inside is beautiful and spotlessly clean , staff friendly and facilities are very good. Highly recommended the Turkish bath & massage the spa is excellent. Pool clean plenty of sunbeds , animation team keep everyone entertained with pool games and activities. The food in the main restaurant was very good , themed nights & choice almost overwhelming. The snack bar by the pool and beach were also very good lots of choice. Good choice of ice cream/lollies all included. Drinks are very good they are very generous with the spirit measures. Good cocktail menu. Our room was spacious and cleaned daily , mini bar replenished daily including beer. We would definitely return to this hotel.

We are very happy with our 10-day stay and we really enjoyed this hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would definitely consider returning in the future. The food was excellent – very tasty, varied and with plenty of choice, so there was always something for everyone. The drinks served at the bars were also very good. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, polite and welcoming. However, one thing we feel could be improved is the level of English spoken by staff working directly with guests, particularly at the bars and reception. The hotel seems to be mainly focused on German-speaking guests, and at times it was quite difficult to communicate in English. In an international hotel, we feel that staff in guest-facing positions should have at least a basic level of English to make communication easier for everyone. A big positive was the cleanliness of the pool area and all the communal areas. The staff regularly collected empty glasses, emptied ashtrays and kept the area around the pool clean and tidy throughout the day. The toilets near the pool were also exceptionally clean and very well maintained. Our room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked extremely well, which was very important in the hot weather. The minibar was replenished every day, which was another big plus. Unfortunately, the fridge in our room did not cool the drinks properly, so this is something that could also be improved. The main area that we feel definitely needs improvement is the room cleaning service. During our 10-day stay, the room was basically only mopped in the middle. It was not properly vacuumed even once. There were visible hairs and dust around the room and bathroom, and under the bed there was a considerable amount of dust, fluff, rubbish and pieces of paper. The balcony was hardly cleaned at all. The mirrors in the room and bathroom were not cleaned, and neither were the shower doors. The floors seemed to be mopped without being properly vacuumed first, which meant that hairs remained on the floor both in the bedroom and bathroom. It felt as though only the most visible central areas were being cleaned, while the edges, corners and areas under the furniture were being missed. This was definitely the biggest negative for us and the main thing we would recommend the hotel improves. It was particularly noticeable because the communal areas of the hotel were kept to such a high standard of cleanliness, so we would expect the same level of attention in the guest rooms. The entertainment could also be improved. There were some activities in the morning, such as aqua gym in the pool and volleyball, but later in the day there was often very little happening. We would have liked to see more activities and entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening and a little more interaction from the animation team. Apart from these points, we honestly have very little to complain about. We had a lovely holiday, enjoyed the food, drinks, facilities and atmosphere, and felt very comfortable during our stay. Despite the areas mentioned above, we would definitely recommend this hotel. Most importantly, if we were choosing our holiday for next year, we would happily choose the same hotel again – which probably says the most about how much we enjoyed our stay.

Our family of 4 (including 2 teens (14, 16)) are just back from a 10 day all inclusive stay with Side Star Resort in Antalya booked with Jet2 Holidays. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Everything works like clockwork. The food is great - tasty and a great variety. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful, not all speak English fluently, but this was never an issue. Rooms are good (we had a standard family), the rooms are modern, well maintained, cleaned daily, and the minibar stocked daily (free of charge). The entertainment team is really amazing! The themed nights were great. We had 2 complimentary dinners at the a la cart restaurants (included if you stay more than 7 nights), what a delightful experience (both Mexican and Asian). The beach is a short 10 min walk away (shuttle also runs), sandy beach, with a great beach bar, and fun watersport activities you can book additionally. The hotel was about a 50 minute drive from the airport with a shuttle. I cannot fault this place. It will be hard not to book this one again in future.
