Kentia Hotel

This hotel was ok. The food was ok. The cleaning staff and servers were lovely. The photographer was a really nice guy and the spa staff. The pool is very nice. We had a lovely stay until the day of departure. The management were terrible. We booked a late checkout on the day of departure. Normal check out being 1200, we agreed that we could keep the room till 1600. All settled with the reception staff in the morning. A price agreed. We came back at 1230. The manager Ahmed Yildram started aggressively questioning us about why we hadn't checked out. We explained we had arranged late checkout, he said we hadn't with him so it didn't count. He then said we could have our late check out as we had arranged with the morning staff.my husband went to go and pay and he put the price up. When my husband questioned this he became very angry and screaming at us that he changed his mind about the late check in and we had 30 mins to vacate the room or he is calling the police. So we had to just leave with my little girl in her pushchair. 6 hours until the coach was coming to get us for the airport. We are a normal family, who work really hard to afford a family holiday. This really ruined the experience for us. He then became aggressive saying we have 3 room keys when we only ever had two. And not accepting that we had only two keys. When we arrived maintenance were using a key to fix the room and he took it with him so we only had one and then got another from reception. Vile experience here. Would not come back. Would not recommend at all.

This is going to be a brutally honest review. I’ve never done one of these but I feel like I have to with this one. Honestly either save your money or spend that little bit extra to get a better experience. Me and my boyfriend just got back from here a couple of days ago and I’ll say it’s honestly my least favorite holiday I’ve ever been on. Make sure you do your research before coming here. I’m not one of those people who take a picture of a crack in the wall this is a REAL review to help you. 1: it says entertainment every night except for sundays, we was there from a Friday to Thursday and we only saw entertainment on Saturday night and Wednesday night. There appears to be one man who is entertainment and the only thing he does is asks people to go to a club with him. He said it was 15 euro entry however the next day he said it was free? So don’t waste your money going with him. There was water polo one day for 20 mins and a foam party the next but that also lasted about 20-30 minutes which they pelted my boyfriend in the face with extremely cold water. 2- if you’re paying for all inclusive, it’s not. What they don’t tell you is that you have to pay for, ice cream, milkshakes, any type of alcohol including cocktails, and fresh juice. The ones from the machines are awful. We ended up paying almost £100 one night for 3 cocktails. Even though you pay for all inclusive, you’re not getting it. The food was plain if you love salad every day and night they it’s great but if your a picky eater prepare to be eating just chips. My boyfriend will eat anything and even he couldn’t eat had the stuff. So if you think you won’t mind trust me you will. 3- if your a woman and want to dress up nice for the night prepared to be stared at and judged. I only dressed up on the second night and when I went for dinner I felt so anxious because of all the guests giving me a dirty look and laughing. I only wore a long dress, but apparently the dress code is no makeup or hair and just a baggy top and shorts if you wear anything other then that well you will be judged. 4- the staff don’t really care either, the didn’t make an effort with any of the guests they didn’t really seam to care, the only person who made our holiday was the man who owns the shop on the resort, he was absolutely lovely and deserves everything. 5-coming back to food. There is no poolside food, you know how you would normally get maybe burger and chips for a snack… nothing here it’s 8-10 breakfast then 12:30-2:30 lunch then you have to wait till 7pm to have dinner no food in between. There is a lady doing crapes but only on certain days but it’s not real food. 6- there’s not much around unless you want to walk, the closest restaurant/ bar was about a 15 min walk from the hotel. They do have a transfer to the beach but only specific times. 7-the WiFi doesn’t work so make sure you have data. 8-TUI: when first got the the transfer from the airport to the hotel they didn’t even know we was there. They didn’t have the hotel written down on the list to go to so they had to write it down last. There was another family who had the same issue here. 9- we got stuck in the lift, we got in the lift and the doors closed before another family got in and they must have been spam pressing the button as we got stuck on the top floor, the lift kept shaking and going up and down, we tried the emergency button and the phone that was in there but they don’t work. Lucky we had our phones so we called the reception and we must have called 4-5 times to ask her to tell people to stop clicking the button as when they do the lift keeps shaking but she didn’t, it took around 15-20 for someone to come and open the doors. The lift is small and extremely hot it felt like we was suffocating and we was on the TOP floor so I was panicking thinking the lift was going to drop. The lift was off for less then a day until it was back on again it seems as tho they just decided to click a button for it to turn on again. We didn’t get anything of out this not even an apology. I really would say please don’t waste your money or spend that little bit extra for something better.

I was at this hotel with my family and had an excellent stay. The hotel is simply beautiful and not overcrowded like other big resorts which makes it ideal for my young kids with one on the autism spectrum. Our room service was excellent with rooms neatly cleaned and beds well laid each time. I also really appreciated the work of the entire kitchen team, especially the variety and quality of the dishes offered. I would like to give a special mention to Yahya, a true polyglot who speaks several languages. He helped me a lot during my stay, especially when choosing suitable dishes, as I am allergic to certain foods. He was always welcoming, friendly, attentive, and available. I will definitely come back next year with great pleasure. Yahya is a remarkable young man, very professional and warm-hearted. I wish him every success, and I sincerely believe that he would be excellent in a reception/front-desk position in the future, where his language skills and excellent communication skills would be a real asset. A big thank you to him!”

Booked this as a ‘cheapy’ August break, as it was a bit of an extra holiday for us, we usually stay in the bigger 5* Turkish hotels, so there were notable differences naturally but the price we paid it was spot on. The rooms were lovely and modern, high standard for the 3 of us, we had a one bed apartment overlooking the pool which was perfect. Food wise, it was fine, the breakfast wasn’t to my taste, but there was options of fresh omelette, fruit, bread and pancakes so you could find something. Lunch was the norm options and the evening food was really lovely. We ate out in Side most nights out of choice of location of restaurants and we would have happily ate in the hotel. Taxis to town were €10 and easy to get outside the hotel. We love Side and this is mainly because by we picked the apartments to be close by. We walked to the beach, but nowhere near the private area of beach the hotel has and unbeknownst to us you can only go on the beach in Turkey with your hotel, so stick to the free transport bus to the beach. The sunbed situation is a nightmare, having to set an alarm for 6am to get a bed. The hotel really needs a better system for this or at least not allow it before 8am as 6am was ridiculous. Other hotels we’ve been to lock them up each night and then you go down to collect a bed which in my opinion is a much better way to manage the sunbeds. I do think the hotel could include a couple of cocktails in the all inclusive, as the drinks options were basic. As others said there are no towels provided which does make a difference but hence the cheaper price. Entertainment is terrible other than the foam party, we enjoyed, as all inclusive they could definitely do more with entertainment. The staff were friendly, especially the guy in the on site shop. He was so friendly. We paid £45 for the late check out room as had a late flight, so this was worth it. Overall it was lovely, really clean and pool tidy, if it’s an affordable option you’re looking for then perfect, if you can afford a bit more, I’d say go for one of the bigger hotels with more food/ snack options as good times were so limited and no ice cream. Also on the beach. I would return for a cheap break, close to Side. It all depends what you want from your holiday. I just think they could do a bit more to ensure people recommend a return. Also no air con in the main room section of apartment, only the bedroom area, so if someone is sleeping in the main area it’s very warm.

A great hotel. Extremely clean with very friendly staff that are always willing to do everything they can to make you comfortable. Pool was immaculately kept. Could do with more sun beds, but we never had an issue. Hotel free bus to and from private area of beach. Room was great size, very well decorated and fitted out. Lovely walk in shower. Food was fairly good - always something on offer for everyone. Plenty of fresh fruit too. The dining manager was superb and trained his staff to be the same. A great hotel for a nice quiet holiday relaxing around the pool. Thank you everyone for a great holiday- we look forward to coming back.
