I think that the location of the hotel is quite good because it is right next to the beach giving you a really nice view of the horizon. I also thought that the staff where quite good because they gave us many entertainment opportunities in the day time and the night time.
Very friendly and chatty, always willing to help and answer any questions! Very clean and tidy, always collecting glasses and tidying up so theres no rubbish anywhere Relaxed atmosphere with rooms always being kept clean and tidy, easy to navigate and helpful staff who will always stop and chat if you need it
Fun and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms, bars and pool areas are kept very clean. Staff are very polite and happy to help
Absolutely amazing resort brilliant experience and staff are so welcoming, accommodating and helpful
This was our 8th trip to Liberty Lara, we have always had excellent holidays with the staff, service, food and entertainment being a big pull on why we’ve returned as many times. We’ve still enjoyed our holiday but have left with a little disappointment this time. I’ll try to leave an honest review covering the good and bad. Rooms - This is where most of the negatives will come. Whilst, comfortable and clean the rooms are so outdated now, the wood furnishings are so old and all badly marked. The bathrooms show years of maintenance patch ups. Night 1, our TV turned on waking me up, it was close to 7am so not much issue to report. Night 2 the TV turned on 5 times all in the early hours of the morning waking me each time, this was apparently caused due to power cuts and the tv automatically came on with power resetting. The hairdryer in the room burnt out, we reported this but had to keep chasing to get it fixed the next day, my wife wanted to do her hair before heading to dinner and we still hadn’t received the new dryer (this was eventually replaced after persistent chasing). The air conditioning unit was very loud, I sleep with earplugs but even they weren’t enough to block out the noise. Restaurants - The buffet provides enough variety, we especially enjoy the outdoor options of the noodle station and the grilled meats at dinner. The pasta house at lunch is always one of our favourites but you also have the options of the buffet, snack bar and pizza tent. We did find the snack bar menu a bit limited compared to previous visits but you also have the option here for self serve chicken wings and wedges. Italian à la carte - This got off to a very bad start, we had this restaurant booked for our wedding anniversary but when we arrived they turned us away as we weren’t on their list. A genuine error by guest relations, which they were sincerely apologetic for, they had booked us to the wrong restaurant, this was finally resolved and we got a table but it spoilt the experience having to spend 20 minutes sorting this out and also not having the table decorations for our celebration. The food and service was very good, although the chicken dish on the main course was a strange combination that I personally wouldn’t put together but overall the food was enjoyable. Asian à la carte - Another favourite of ours and booked or for 15€ each. The food and the staff were excellent and I’d recommend a visit if you like Asian food. No prawn crackers this year which was always a good side, the only disappointment was the time taken between courses. 1 party arrived 30 minutes later and it felt like our courses were dragged out so they could cook food for all parties at the same time. Entertainment - Daytime, we’ve always enjoyed taking part in a few activities, the entertainment crew and the engagement are still as good but the experience wasn’t as enjoyable. They now seem to combine kids and adults which makes the activities a lot busier and take much more time to the point it lost appeal as I didn’t want to spend over an hour at a game. Lack of ideas for the pool games, we used to see something different every day now it was a boring spoons game nearly every day. I like a bit of music playing during the day so come to the main pool as I hate silence at the silence pool but the volume of music around the pool during a pool activity (water gym/pool games) was bordering ridiculous especially more annoying during water gym with the lady screeching ooo ooo into the microphone constantly. Night entertainment- we don’t attend the main shows in amphitheater so can’t comment on those, there was only 1 night of our stay with an acoustic singer in the Lukka bar, this had been at least 2 per week in the past. We’ve always enjoyed the post show entertainment in the Appollon bar in the past, this has now moved down to the Patara bar and we didn’t find this as good as previous visits and the venue was not set out well for it with it being difficult to move between tables. Staff - I’ve had a lot of negative comments above but one area you will not find fault with is with the staff, they are always so friendly and work so hard, that is in all departments. We’ve always found this with Liberty and it’s good after all these years that standards on this have remained so high and unmatched in any other hotel I’ve stayed. Final remarks - This hotel has felt a 2nd home to us over the years and we’ve usually been able to see past the poor rooms due to the little time we spend in them however this time the rooms significantly impacted our holiday. Room upgrades have been on the agenda for maybe 5 years we even had a year out last year in the hope they’d be renovated but there has still been no progress other than some new doors. It might be time for us to call it a day with this hotel, especially after experiencing sister hotels in Fethiye. Maybe one day we’ll try again if the renovations ever happen.
