Liberty Lara

Lovely hotel. Smaller to the other ones I’ve been to in , Lara, check in was great. The room was a bit dated and balcony area was small which looked out over next doors bins. You can hear next doors noise quite a bit. We were on the 6 th floor and you can hear the entrainment from here. The food was very much the same each day , very repetitive , I also found it was cold.it’s a shame there was only 2 à la carte restaurants open. The choice of food was great in the day, pasta , snack bar , ice creams , waffles & doughnuts.the pool area was great . You had a quiet pool for adults and a larger pool which played music . We hired a cabana one day which was fantastic.the choice of drinks & cocktails was excellent. I also feel the security needs looking at . We had no bands and we weren’t checked if we left the hotel.

I stayed at Liberty Lara and overall had a really enjoyable experience, especially for an out of season stay. The hotel itself is very clean, tidy and well presented throughout. The lifts were fast, reliable and always well maintained, which made getting around the hotel easy even during busier times. The rooms were fairly standard and slightly on the smaller side, but still comfortable and perfectly adequate. We had a family double room with a double bed, single bed and sofa bed, and there was enough space for our stay without feeling too cramped. The balcony was quite small but usable. The bathroom had a shower over bath setup and one quirky feature was the TV built into the mirror, which was unusual but a nice touch. The staff across the hotel were exceptionally friendly and always willing to help, which really made a difference. When my friend joined us later, the hotel accommodated our request at check in and placed her just a few doors away on the same floor, which was really appreciated. Food quality was consistently very good with plenty of choice, although the buffet did not rotate or offer themed nights like some other hotels, so meals were quite similar each day. The kebab area was a highlight and the pizza place was another favourite for us. We chose not to try the pasta restaurant as it was sit down only, whereas we preferred the more relaxed takeaway style options. Around the pool, service from the roller skating staff was a nice idea but could be quite slow at times, so we often chose to get our own drinks instead. Drink options overall were good, although there was only one beer on tap Efes, which may or may not matter depending on preference. The outdoor pool was very cold during our stay after March so not ideal if you are planning to swim a lot. There is an indoor pool which is heated, but it does get quite busy, especially with children. If you are travelling out of season it is worth knowing that bars tend to close earlier and some snack bars have limited opening hours, usually around early afternoon. There are also fewer daily activities running until peak season begins, so it is better suited to those looking for a quieter and more relaxed break. The on site shops are quite expensive for essentials so I would recommend visiting the nearby bazaar outside the hotel, especially the pharmacy, which is much more reasonably priced. If you need a taxi, it is also cheaper to walk to the taxi rank just outside the hotel rather than booking one through reception. We also used a beach company not affiliated with the hotel for jet skiing. While the experience and the quality of the photos and drone videos were excellent, it was extremely expensive at 120 euros for 20 minutes and another 120 euros for the photos and videos, which felt excessive compared to similar experiences elsewhere. Overall I would definitely recommend Liberty Lara. It is a great hotel with excellent service and a relaxing atmosphere, especially out of season. That said I am not sure I would return personally only because I would like to try other places, but it is certainly somewhere I would consider again, particularly during peak season when more facilities and activities are available.

Well - avoid hotel due a massive refrub at the end of this season, photos are very out of date and don’t book with TUI either. Black mould in bathroom - rooms very knocked about , slides not open , nor a whole load of other facilities - even though it was the Easter holidays. Staff are lovely - had to push for the slides to be open management gave excuses. Issues with rooms raised no contact from TUI or management to sort. TUI shocking response - no appreciate for the fact black mould is a health and safety issue and was not something that happened overnight. Asked to move hotels - support from TUI other than I needed to pay classed as a new booking. Outside the hotel is waste land the rubbish is unbelievable , the hotel is the wrong end of town. Buffet repeat repeat repeat and with no other options such as snack bars. Staff were lovely and helpful excluding management. See photos not a 5 star and certainly not platinum as TUI advertises it as. TUI are con artists - take £1000’s and then don’t offer any help. Look at the bad reviews do not rely on those that are good / excellent.

We had 6 good sunny/warm days in Liberty Hotels Lara with a great option of drinks, a lovely pool, fun slides and a nice beach/pier. And one rainy windy day, which was still okay as there are inside restaurants and bars so you can still relax. I would recommend the à la carte restaurants. However, it is to be noted that the spa is very expensive compared to other hotels in the area.
