We have travelled extensively and stayed at many all-inclusive hotels over the years. We rarely write negative reviews because our experiences usually match those of other guests. Unfortunately, our experience at Marti Myra was very different from the many positive reviews we had read. The hotel grounds are beautiful, very green and well maintained, and the sea is excellent. The buffet restaurant offers a good variety of food. Unfortunately, the condition of our room was far below what we expected from a hotel of this category. The wallpaper was worn and dirty, there were black stains on the ceiling, and the curtains were visibly dirty, especially at the bottom. Most unpleasant of all was the strong and persistent smell of urine in the bathroom. We reported this to reception and politely asked either for the problem to be fixed or for another room. Two housekeepers came and poured a chemical product into a floor drain. This only replaced the smell of urine with a strong chemical smell. We eventually had to keep pouring water into the drain ourselves. Housekeeping was another problem because we were travelling with a small dog. The staff refused to clean the room or change the towels. In other hotels, we have always been asked what time would be convenient for housekeeping while we were out with our dog. This simple solution was not offered here. We also had concerns about hygiene in the restaurant. We repeatedly saw waiters handling knives and forks by the part that guests actually put in their mouths after cleaning tables. In our opinion, cutlery should be handled by the handles to avoid unnecessary contact with the eating surface. There was also a serious shortage of tables in the restaurant. Guests were constantly walking around looking for a free table, creating crowds and making it uncomfortable and difficult to carry food safely. The beach also did not have enough places under the umbrellas. We witnessed several arguments between guests over available spaces. Finally, there are many stray cats around the hotel. We love animals, but we personally saw cats using the beach sand as a toilet and burying their waste where children were playing. We believe animal care should be organised in a way that does not create hygiene problems on the beach. Overall, Marti Myra has beautiful grounds, a wonderful sea and a good selection of food. However, the condition of the room, the bathroom smell, housekeeping issues, restaurant hygiene, lack of seating and beach-space problems significantly affected our holiday. We normally do not leave negative reviews, but we believe future guests should have a complete picture of both the positive aspects and the problems we personally experienced.

My wife and I have spent more than ten years of holidays in Turkey, across every tier of hotel, so we know what 5-star ultra-all-inclusive should feel like. Marti Myra isn't it. SECURITY: Cash went missing from a closed bag in our room during our stay. Our initial report went unanswered, but once we raised it in a review, Guest Relations reacted quickly, took the matter seriously and did their best to de-escalate the situation — credit to them for that. Still, it shouldn't take a public review to get a response, and we noticed no security cameras anywhere on a very large property. Not feeling safe in your own room is not something a holiday recovers from easily. MAIN RESTAURANT: We got into the habit of checking cutlery and glasses before using them, because they were often not properly washed. Plates were cleared quickly, but nobody ever asked if we wanted a drink. The indoor area is hot (the AC can't cope with the terrace doors open all evening) and so crowded that a couple struggles to find a seat. The menu barely changes across the week. ROOMS: Greasy bathroom on arrival, and housekeeping never caught up. The room is half renovated, and the towels alone show how long it's been since anything was replaced. BARS AND FOOD COURT: Queues at understaffed bars, a short drinks list, cocktails that vary wildly from one pour to the next. The snack court is the same snacks every day, not promptly restocked. BEACH: The sea itself is a highlight — clear, warm and a pleasure to swim in. The entrance is rocky, though that's expected in this region. Sunbeds are worn out and there are no side tables for drinks (there was only one we noticed so far). ARRIVAL AND WI-FI: No guest Wi-Fi before check-in (as you need a room number). The Wi-Fi itself is weak and logs you out several times a day. STAFF: Getting help usually meant asking twice, and communicating in English was difficult with most of the staff we dealt with as the Russion is language of choice. For an international resort at 5-star prices, that's a real problem - need to be more international oriented. BOTTOM LINE: For the category and price, Marti Myra does not deliver. Guest Relations eventually handled the security issue well, but the overall standard of cleanliness, service and maintenance is far from what a 5-star rating promises.

After the problems with the cyber attack on British air space my self and my family were sent to this hotel by jet 2 and what an awful experience we had the reception staff were so rude! Not one bit helpful at all the way they treat my family and others were disgusting we were stranded and to add to the stress they could not have cared less, from what we got to see of the hotel was ok asked staff if we could use a wheelchair as my mum broke her leg when away and just needed it to get her from room to reception they wanted 40 euro the reception staff could see we were distressed but just would not help at all so dissapointed.
