We had a lovely stay at this hotel and there are lots of positives. The food was excellent, the hotel was very clean, and some members of staff were particularly friendly and helpful. That said, if you’re travelling as a family with older children (12+), it’s worth being aware that there isn’t a huge amount for them to do beyond the pool and beach. The organised activities seem to be mainly geared towards younger children, with a kids’ club for little ones, or towards adults. This isn’t a criticism of the hotel as such, but it’s something to consider if your children enjoy taking part in activities while on holiday. We also booked partly because some descriptions of the hotel mention football facilities. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case during our stay, so I’d recommend checking this directly with the hotel if it’s an important factor in your decision. One other thing to be aware of is that there was a vomiting bug going around the hotel while we were there, and unfortunately all of us caught it. Obviously, these things can happen in any busy hotel and it’s not necessarily something the hotel could have prevented, but it’s worth mentioning so other guests can be aware and take extra care with hygiene. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and there are many things to like about the hotel. I’d just recommend considering the age of your children and what they enjoy doing on holiday before booking.

We stayed at Side Aluna in August and overall had a pleasant holiday, but there were a few areas that stopped it from living up to the excellent reviews we had read beforehand. The hotel itself is very clean, with a welcoming reception area. The rooms are a good size, spotlessly clean, and the air conditioning worked really well. The housekeeping team were also very nice, friendly and always pleasant whenever we saw them. The food was genuinely brilliant, with a great range and plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner. We particularly enjoyed lunch at the beach restaurant, which was excellent. The beach itself is lovely and well maintained. A special mention should go to Enes from the entertainment team, who was always friendly, approachable and worked hard to engage with guests. We’d also like to thank Ali on reception, who was extremely helpful during our stay and is a real credit to the hotel. Unfortunately, there were some disappointing aspects to our stay. Some of the staff could be quite temperamental when asked for assistance, which wasn’t what we’d expect from a hotel of this standard. We also felt that some guests appeared to receive better treatment than others, particularly the large number of German guests. This was our genuine impression during our stay, and we later noticed another reviewer had made a similar observation. The biggest disappointment was the lack of activities for older children. The website advertises football and volleyball, but these simply weren’t available. When we asked about this, we were told that anyone over 12 could attend the kids’ club, despite it being aimed at children aged 2–12, which wasn’t a realistic solution. Entertainment during the day was also limited, with only water polo and aqua aerobics once a day. The hotel has very little in the way of grounds to walk around, and the gym is extremely small. It doesn’t open until 8am, which is quite late for many guests, and it has no air conditioning, making it uncomfortable to use. One thing worth mentioning, although it isn’t the hotel’s fault, is that we’ve never stayed in a hotel with so many inconsiderate and, at times, genuinely rude guests and it did affect the overall atmosphere of the holiday. We appreciate this is something the hotel has little control over, but it was noticeable and worth mentioning. I’m genuinely surprised by the number of five-star reviews. It’s a nice hotel and there are definitely some very good things about it, particularly the food, cleanliness, beach and certain members of staff, but in my opinion it doesn’t justify such high ratings. We booked through On the Beach, which was straightforward, but for a holiday costing close to £4,000, we expected more. Last year we stayed at the Grand Ring in Kemer, which offered much better facilities and was far better suited to families with older children. Overall, Side Aluna is a nice, clean hotel with brilliant food and some excellent staff, but for the price and the five-star reputation, we simply expected more.

We are due to leave the Aluna hotel on Thursday and we will be so sad to leave. It has been a fantastic holiday, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are all so friendly. We have to mention Johny, one of the animation team who has been absolutely wonderful with our 11 year old. Nothing is too much trouble he even taught her how to swim. He's great fun and all the kids and guest love him. We have joined in the comedy show, aqua aerobics, tombola, water zumba water polo. They provide lots of entertainment through the day. The whole animation team infact have been great. The shows on an evening are a great variety and we have enjoyed every single one. We have travelled as a family of 2 adults and 3 kids aged, 17, 13 and 11 and all of us have been occupied and entertained the entire time. There sooooo much choice in the restaurants and again the staff are excellent at their jobs. You can change towels everyday by the pool which was good. Both adults has a Turkish bath and massage, it was wonderful and the price was good. I would 100% recommend this hotel for a family holiday, but again a special mention to Johny he really has made our holiday a wonderful experience of which we'll leave with lovely memories. Keep being you Johny, we love your energy ✨️
