TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Sorgun

Dear Mr. Sarp, I am writing to you to share my feedback following a fantastic experience at Akra Sorgun Tui Blue Sensatori, way back in June. This was our 11th visit to the Sorgun, we come and spend 4 weeks every June and we couldnt imagine going anywhere else. The General Manager, has built a truly amazing hotel, but what stands out even more is his team. Excellent staff across the board. Every team member I encountered was professional, welcoming, and dedicated to delivering a seamless guest experience. All the rooms in this hotel have a sea view, balcony with table/chairs the rooms are bright and airy with a huge TV and cleaned to a high standard. Toiletries and fresh towels daily. 3 sections Family, Mixed and Adults. The pools are heated there's an adults only side, with a jacuzzi (16+) with waiter service, plenty of beds, plenty of shade. Family area which is 3 separate pools, the children's pool has a small slide, little fountains and shaded. Lot of activities in the other 2. Plenty of beds on both sides. Food the best we've had ever, the buffet is amazing, adults only and family section, and don't forget Sunday Roast, with all the trimmings, every Sunday (afternoon only) in the main buffet, its better than my mum's. There's 3 a la cartes all part of AI, Olive which is Italian, Saffron which is Turkish, Ocean which is Turkish and one payable Prime which is a steak house. During the day you can eat in Olive and Ocean waiter service different menu to the evenings. There's also the Gozalem lady down on the lawns where there are tables and benches she does sweet and savoury they are made fresh and are delicious. Then there are 2 coffee shops with amazing cakes, pastries, ice-cream. All the bars have branded alcohol sometimes you have to ask most times you don't. Some spirits are chargeable not many and in 11 years we've never paid for one. The cocktails are amazing. Don't forget the lovely beach, plenty of beds plenty of shade, and a beach bar, you'll need beach shoes for in the sea as its quite hard on the feet down there. Pool and beach towels supplied as and when you need them, at both pools. There's a small shop with essentials, you'll pay that bit extra but its not as bad as some I've been in. There's a bag, and clothing shop, and a jewellery shop. In the basement there's a small cinema, games room/ arcade ( payable) and this year a room with a bar and huge screen which was showing the world Cup. Entertainment this year wasnt the best, "Whats my name....Victory was definitely missed by lots of people as well as the sax player. This year was a bit hit and miss the Piano Bar especially was very poor with just really a violinist who was very good, the rest I'm afraid wasn't up to standard. Down on the Boardwalk (big stage ) some very good acts and shows, and also in the bar down there, there was a chance to get up and dance.. There was also some children's entertainment earlier in the evening. There is nothing not to like at this hotel which is why we return year after year. We've made lovely friends over the years, you know who you are, and we will continue to return The transfer time varies it can take anything up to 2 hours on the coach, a private transfer usually just over an hour depending on the time of day. Theres a bus stop directly outside the hotel where a bus runs regularly into Side The hotel is 24 hour All Inclusive Several individuals who went above and beyond to make our stay special: • Syd from Guest Relations, he did everything in his power to make sure my husband and I had a stressfree holiday. Syd made sure everything was in place before our arrival. His help and assistance was beyond amazing. • Gabriel, the waiter at the adult pool, always smiling never seen a man work so hard, especially outdoors in the intense heat. • Both Mehmets in the adult dining area, always there to help us especially when it was busy. • Memet, Emin, and Mehmet at the Olive restaurant, and the amazing chef food and service, and attention to detail was always 1st class • Sirdar at Saffran he's been there as long as we've been coming. Very polite and knowledgeable on the food he serves • Moslam, the waiter at the Piano Bar, ( and the Boardwalk) this man never ever stops, he remembers drink orders, we never had an empty glass, always smiling, and always has time to have a little chat. • The wonderful Gözleme lady, she's part of the hotel, and the Gözleme are exceptional The lovely housekeeper Adnin Ne who kept our room in the adult section ( 3221) immaculate. A pleasure to return to each day. Please pass along our sincere compliments and gratitude to these individuals and your entire staff for their hard work. We just had seven days at this great hotel , seven was not enough! Wish we had done 10 or 14 nights. This is our 4th visit and this time we went with another family. In all we had three teenagers along with parents. The buffet restaurant is the best we have ever experienced anywhere, knocks the socks off all other brand hotels in Europe and beyond. It’s just so good, well presented, melt in the mouth . The staff are superb and super attentive as well. We paid extra for the steak restaurant which was also a joy. The nicest part of this hotel are the grounds which are so well kept and literally an oasis in a baking environment. So peaceful on a morning. There’s a nice jogging route outside the hotel with a short cut through the woods. We spent time at both the adult and family areas. I liked the family area, wife liked the adult area. All pools areas are immaculate as well. Shame some adults kick the hell out of free drink then seem to think it’s ok to argue and cause problems in the adult area ( staff were all over it straight away ). We are long-standing returning guests and have stayed at Akra Sorgun five times since 2018, most recently in 2024 before this visit. We have always loved the hotel and have continued to return because of the high standards we’ve experienced over the years. There is still a great deal we love about Sorgun and we enjoyed our holiday, but unfortunately on this visit we noticed some definite changes, particularly with the everyday food offering and evening entertainment. Service and drinks The waiter service was excellent throughout our stay. Staff were friendly, attentive and worked incredibly hard. The drinks offering was also excellent, with a really good selection and good-quality proper fruit juices. Poolside drinks service was particularly good in the mornings, with regular service around the pool. It did seem to become much more limited in the afternoons, possibly because staff were needed behind the bar at busier times. One exception to the otherwise excellent drinks was the coffee served at breakfast. We found this consistently very weak and watery, almost as though there wasn’t enough coffee being used. It was noticeably below the standard we’d expect from a five-star hotel. Kids’ club and entertainment The recently refurbished kids’ club was excellent. The facilities are lovely and our children really enjoyed attending. The staff did a great job and this was definitely one of the positives of our stay. If we could improve anything, it would be the flexibility of the sessions. They operate within fairly fixed times, whereas some other premium family resorts offer longer opening hours and more flexibility with drop-offs and collections. Unfortunately, the children’s evening entertainment was a completely different experience and we found it extremely basic compared with previous visits. We also really miss the resident Sensatori-style show casts and the standard of evening entertainment Sorgun used to provide. On our earlier visits, the evening shows were genuinely something we looked forward to and were part of what made the Sensatori experience feel special. The current entertainment doesn’t have the same impact. Main restaurant Our biggest disappointment this time was the everyday food offering in the main restaurant. There is certainly a large quantity of food, with an excellent selection of salads and cold dishes, so our criticism isn’t that there isn’t enough to eat. It’s more about the lack of genuine variety within the hot food. On International Nights in particular, a large proportion of the hot choices seemed to be variations of stews or casserole-style dishes – chicken, fish, vegetables, artichoke and so on. Although technically these are all different dishes, there wasn’t enough variation in cooking styles for us. We also missed the individually prepared dishes that we remember enjoying on previous visits. The desserts were similar. They looked impressive and there were lots of different options on display, but many had very similar cake, mousse or cheesecake-style textures and flavours despite being decorated differently. We also found that the pizzas from the main restaurant weren’t nearly as good as those we’ve previously enjoyed in the Italian à-la-carte restaurant. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure reservations for the à-la-carte restaurants during this stay, which meant we were more reliant on the main buffet. Gala Night – excellent Gala Night deserves a special mention because it was excellent and completely different from our experience of some of the other themed evenings. There were lots of individually prepared dishes, the food we tried was really tasty, and there was a fantastic selection of desserts and cheeses. This was much more like the dining experience we remembered from previous stays and showed what the hotel is capable of. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A very disappointing final meal Unfortunately, our final meal at the hotel ended the holiday on a very disappointing note. As we needed to leave before the main buffet opened, we ate at the 24-hour à-la-carte restaurant. Service was very slow and there were no children’s menus available, which was particularly difficult when travelling with a very picky young eater. More concerningly, one member of our party had already started eating his burger when we noticed a significant amount of green mould on the underside of the burger bun. We immediately showed the burger to our server and a manager came over and apologised. A few minutes later another manager came to speak to us and suggested that the cheese from the burger could cause the bun to become mouldy. We disagreed with this explanation, as what we could see appeared to be clear green mould. We were asked whether we wanted anything else, but by this point we had already checked out and needed to leave the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t think to take a photograph because we were dealing with the issue there and then, but the burger itself was shown directly to the restaurant staff and management, so they had the opportunity to see the problem. We sincerely hope the remaining bread/buns and food-storage arrangements were checked afterwards. This isn’t something we would expect to encounter at a hotel of this standard and was a particularly disappointing way to finish our holiday. Overall Despite the criticisms above, we still think Akra Sorgun is a lovely hotel. The staff and waiter service remain excellent, the drinks selection is very good, the grounds and facilities are beautiful, and the newly refurbished kids’ club was a big success with our children. Gala Night was also a real highlight. However, having stayed five times since 2018, we are in a good position to compare the hotel across different years. For us, the everyday main-restaurant food and particularly the evening entertainment no longer feel as special as they did on previous visits, including as recently as 2024. It’s important to stress that our issue with the buffet wasn’t the amount of food available. There was plenty. It was the repetition in the types of hot dishes and desserts, which meant that a very large buffet didn’t necessarily translate into a genuinely varied choice. We have many happy memories of Sorgun and there is still a great deal about the hotel that would make us consider returning. We hope some of these areas are reviewed, particularly as the food experience and entertainment were previously two of the things that made Sensatori Sorgun stand out from other hotels.

Lovely hotel, weather and area! The hotel is spotlessly clean inside and out staff are very attentive in both restaurants and outside serving drinks. Great variety of food and loved the extra set up à la carte style plates in the buffet restaurant. Italian restaurant was lovely and Turkish was ok probably just not my taste. It’s €50 euros per person for the steakhouse and I’m not surprised it was shut some nights due to low bookings. €20-30 euros we may have tried it I think lowering the price will mean some people try it shame as I’m sure it would’ve been lovely but not justifiable on top of the holiday price when there’s great food on offer included. BBQ was a lovely evening and mixed up the buffet options too defiantly not bored after a week. We had a swim up which is well worth it and although a little noisy by the other pools it was easy to go to the kids pool and get served drinks without leaving our swim up. The beach is lovely warm, calm sea and lifeguard on site. sandy mixed with shells. Beach bar lots of sun loungers as well as water sports. My little one 20months enjoyed the splash pool as well as kids club and there’s two outside park areas to play. Lots of options as well as entertainment for all ages. We went to Managvat and Side which offer two different experiences. One with a typical town and shopping where as side offers history and more shopping! Easily accessible on bus outside hotel or taxi. We had a great time and wouldn’t rule out coming back again!

Stayed at this hotel for a week and wished I had booked for two or even more. This place was THAT good. Impressive would be an understatement, indeed i would go as far to say that this is probably the best hotel I have stayed in anywhere.. This place and the staff therein, encapsulated and deliver a truly 5 star experience on a daily basis. Have stayed in many hotels where the 5 star rating seems to somewhat mythical if not misleading. However, be assured this place is more than worthy of its rating in every way possible. Party of 3 including our 17yr old daughter and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel genuinely welcome and at home, even at the late post midnight hour of arrival. We were surprised and blessed to be upgraded to a penthouse suite....I am still pinching myself at the comfort and awesome panoramic views we experienced (check my pics). One of the first guest we met on arrival was a Scot who stated he and his wife were on their 20th stay there.....I can see why. Customer service was easily the best I have experienced anywhere. Every interaction with hotel staff was met with courtesy, charm snd efficiency. When my daughter unfortunately had an accident off site, the reception staff showed genuine interest in her wellbeing upon her return from hospital and we thereafter also received a call from customer relations to make sure all was well. Bar staff were attentive with no request seemingly being too hard or them being too busy to deal with. Location was good, with the beautiful town of Side reachable with 10 by either taxi or bus. Facilities, virtually every age range is catered for with there bring a serene spa next to the gym and a host of other features including an indoor pool, and separate outdoor family pool and adults only pools. No loud rave music being pumped out poolside, either the calm fluidity of people enjoying each other's company or kids gleefully laughing by the family pool. The hotel grounds are picturesque with there also being a dedicated outdoor play area for younger children. The beach was well maintained, orderly and boasted lovely views. Live singer/pianist most nights was akso a wonderfully classy touch. The food? Absolutely no complaints, genuinely stunning offerings on a daily basis at the main buffet restaurant. The quality was impeccable my stomach was impeachable. As part of our tui sensatori booking we were able to go to two other restaurants although we only booked one - the seafood restaurant which was probably my favourite meal of the stay. The grouper fillet main was simply divine! The Baska coffee shop with its melt in the mouth fresh croissants and daily assortment of freshly made delightful chocolates tested my will-power daily. The rooms are very well maintained with the chiller restocked daily and housekeeping on point. From the moment you end the grand and fragrant foyer, you know you are in for a refined, stress free and luxurious experience and this place does not disappoint. It goes with without saying that we will definitely be looking to return next year. From beginning to the end, and all the interactions in-between, this place was class, simply pure class.....
