TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Sorgun

Having stayed at most Akra hotels over the years I am always drawn back as I have always enjoyed every aspect they offer. I have always booked through TUI but on one occasion in 2024 I booked directly through the Akra website So I was delighted when I received an email from a member of Akra sales staff commenting on the fact that we were previous bookers and as valued customers they would offer us a 30%. We had back and forth email and eventually parting with €1543 to book a room with them. This would come at at a very good time as my wife is just coming through the back end of cancer Then nothing,no conformation which started immediate alarm bells and I quickly realised that I had been scammed. I now have some questions for Akra as to how scammers have gained access to my personal details and were 100% aware that I had previously booked to stay there. I initially got an immediate response from an Akra team member who asked me to pass a copy of the email to me to pass to his colleagues but now having sent follow up requests to open dialogue with Akra they are now ignoring me. This is a nice hotel. It has lots of positive points. - Rooms are great - we had an adult swim up. - Food is good in the à la carte restaurants. - Grounds are exceptional. - Cleaning service is good. - The staff generally provide good service and are friendly. The reasons it wasn’t wow for us. - Service was variable. On a few occasions in the main buffet restaurant we had to wait around 10 mins before being offered a drink - both at breakfast and in the evenings. - Buffet was Ok but a little repetitive and with some food being lukewarm (I accept that this is always a challenge when food is left out). - Many of the sun beds around the adult pool were dated and looked grubby - as well as being uncomfortable. One or two sections had newer beds and the family pools had beds with pads which looked much nicer and more comfortable. - Entertainment was hit and miss. A couple of good bands but some awful ones. The regular on site musicians were obviously talented but the sets were not really chilled more quite dull. And don’t get me started on the background music played around the hotel. Not really sunny holiday vibe. - we reported a broken tile by the steps to our pool, when we left 5 days later it still had not been replaced. We had a nice holiday and everything is subjective but not a hotel we would rush back too.

Just returned from a 2 week stay in this beautiful resort. All rooms have a sea view which is very rare and greatly appreciated. The food, drinks and staff are all excellent. We booked a cabana on the beach on 2 separate occasions and it was worth every penny. Eren our beach waiter was excellent looking after us. We went into Side twice by getting the local bus for €1.50 per person on the way and a taxi back for €12. Both gave change in euro so did not have to change any money into Lira as all shops also took euro and gave change in euro. We used the adults pool and the bar staff here were excellent. Gabriel, Engin, Musa. Ice creams readily available which is a really nice touch. Pinar and Bahar who served us drinks in the bar and the clubhouse lounge were so pleasant and efficient. The entertainment was excellent. We especially enjoyed the quiz storm every night. Using an app on your phone was fantastic. We had a Turkish bath in the hotel spa which was amazing. I also had hair cut, colour and treatment in the hotel and was very impressed with the service. We have been to the Akra in Fethiye and we will return there sometime but next year we will be back to Sorgun again for another fantastic holiday.

We returned for our third visit at the beginning of July this year, travelling as two adults and two children aged 6 and 12. The best way to sum up our stay is simple: five stars. We love this hotel, and once again, it did not disappoint. Our room was excellent — spacious, comfortable and with plenty of storage. It was cleaned to an exceptional standard every day, which we really appreciated. For us, the food is what really sets this hotel apart. The buffet is exceptional, with a huge range of choices that changed daily. The themed evenings added plenty of variety, while the everyday options worked particularly well for one of our children, who prefers plainer food. The chocolate fountain was a particular holiday highlight for both kids! The à la carte restaurants were also excellent and gave us a lovely opportunity to relax and enjoy beautiful food in even more beautiful surroundings. The waiting staff were excellent throughout — attentive, enthusiastic and always welcoming. The kids' club and childcare offerings were another real highlight of the hotel. The recently refurbished kids' club was fabulous and provided a much-needed respite from the sun. The team also ran a brilliant adventure club for children who were too young for the teen club but felt too old for the kids' club. It focused on sports and games, and my older child absolutely loved it. Particular thanks must go to Emma, Caitlin, Ryan and Ellie for devising and delivering such a brilliant kids' programme. One small disappointment this year was that the entertainment team was not as large as in previous years, consisting of just two people rather than the usual teams of six or eight. This meant that many of the familiar entertainment offerings available at other Sensatori resorts were no longer provided here, such as the Hashtag Live show and the dinosaur show. We felt that this reduction was disappointing, particularly given how impressive this year's entertainment team was. The two girls who made up the entertainment team, Eden and Lauren, were nothing short of exceptional. It would not be an understatement to say that these two girls made our holiday. In all of the similar all-inclusive properties we've stayed at over the years, including other Sensatori resorts on many occasions, we haven't come across people quite as enthusiastic and engaging as these two. They took such a genuine interest in our children, who absolutely loved the attention and couldn't get enough of getting involved in the activities. Eden and Lauren were incredibly enthusiastic, friendly and talented, and they brought so much energy to everything they did. With such a talented and engaging team, it was a real shame that the entertainment offering had been pared back to just two people. Both the entertainment team and the childcare team came to wish us goodbye at reception when we left - I can't articulate just how special this was for our children and brought a genuine tear to the eye! Another example of how these guys went way above and beyond to leave a lasting impression! I should also mention that the entertainment in the Clubhouse seemed really good this year, although our family's early bedtimes meant that we sadly missed a lot of it. The main live acts performing in the auditorium were, as usual, a bit of a mixed bag — although I appreciate that this is very subjective. Overall, though, we had another fantastic stay. The food, facilities, children's activities and in particular staff, continue to make this a hotel we absolutely love returning to. We had a brilliant holiday and would happily come back for a fourth visit!

We stayed at the Akra sorgun for two weeks at the beginning of September, this was our 10th visit to this beautiful place. We met up with friends and made some new friends too, this hotel is absolutely amazing! Upon arriving there we were greeted by the staff, the staff here are amazing, each and everyone had a part to play in making your holiday something special. The quality of the food and the à la carte restaurants is outstanding. The entertainment was also superb from the live shows to the soft music in the lobby with live musicians! The room cleaners are fantastic, they cannot do enough for you , along with Omer on the beach who will find you sun beds every day!! We really enjoyed the bars at the Akra sorgun, the beach bar staff are amazing and always greet you with a smile , also the pool bar and lobby bar where nothing is too much trouble . Special thanks to Bahar and Ibrahim in the lobby bar, they were truly exceptional in looking after us, also Gabriel at the pool side bar who was ALWAYS there when you needed a drink .
