Overall Summary: Overrated and Underwhelming Our stay was unfortunately a significant disappointment and fell well short of the standards we would expect from a 5-star resort. Drinks – 5/5 The drinks offering was excellent. There was a fantastic selection of branded spirits, beers and freshly made cocktails. This was undoubtedly one of the strongest aspects of the hotel. Food – 4/5 The buffet offered a good variety of food, and the 24-hour à la carte option was a welcome addition. The availability of cakes and ice cream throughout the day was also appreciated. However, all speciality à la carte restaurants incurred an additional charge and were located outdoors. During our stay the weather was cool, making them unattractive, and they would likely be equally uncomfortable during the height of summer due to the heat. Rooms – 2/5 The rooms were functional but very basic and lacked even a chair or stool. They are clearly showing their age and would benefit from refurbishment and general maintenance. Dining Experience – 1/5 The main buffet restaurant was chaotic. There was no table management system and no staff member greeting or assisting guests upon arrival. As most tables were located outdoors, securing a table often felt like a competition, creating an unnecessarily stressful dining experience. Cleanliness – 2/5 Despite housekeeping trolleys being permanently stationed outside our room, which could potentially present a fire safety concern, the room never appeared particularly clean. The condition of the floors was especially noticeable, as our children's white socks quickly became dirty. Evening Entertainment – 2/5 The amphitheatre itself is impressive; however, the entertainment programme lacked variety, consisting largely of repetitive dance performances. On wet evenings entertainment was simply cancelled, with no indoor alternative arranged. Aside from a pianist performing briefly in the lobby bar between 6:30pm and 7:15pm, there was little else on offer. There was also no effort to create themes, events or seasonal celebrations such as Oktoberfest. Daytime Entertainment – 1/5 Virtually non-existent. The only notable activity was a one-hour pool party, which felt forced rather than genuinely engaging. Sports Programme – 3/5 There was a good range of sports and fitness activities advertised. Unfortunately, whenever the weather was poor, activities were cancelled without any indoor alternatives being offered. Beach – 1/5 The hotel's beach offering was disappointing, consisting of little more than a narrow strip of sand approximately one to two metres wide. Atmosphere – 2/5 The overall atmosphere throughout the resort felt flat and lacked energy. Waiting Staff – 4/5 The staff around the pool areas worked extremely hard and generally provided good service. Service in the lobby area was less consistent, particularly where QR code ordering was not being used. Customer Experience Team – 1/5 This was one of the most disappointing aspects of our stay. The customer experience staff appeared disengaged, often spending their time on mobile phones in reception. There was virtually no meaningful interaction with guests and nobody acknowledged our departure or wished us goodbye as we left for our taxi. Pool Areas – 2/5 The pools and surrounding areas are showing their age, with several maintenance issues evident throughout the resort. Décor & Maintenance – 2/5 Across the hotel, the décor and general maintenance standards are tired and dated, lacking the polished presentation expected of a 5-star property. Value for Money – 2/5 We frequently stay at Barut Hotels and, apart from the drinks selection, they provide a significantly better overall experience. This resort simply does not offer the quality, service or atmosphere required to justify its reputation or rating. Final Verdict While the drinks selection was outstanding and some staff worked extremely hard, these positives could not compensate for the numerous shortcomings. Poor dining organisation, lack of entertainment, limited customer engagement, ageing facilities and an uninspiring atmosphere resulted in a thoroughly underwhelming holiday. Overall, we found the resort to be overrated and not representative of the 5-star experience advertised.

Voyage Sorgun is a fantastic resort overall, and worked really well for our stay. The facilities across the hotel were consistently good – plenty to do, lots of spaces to relax, and everything felt well maintained and organised. The real standout, though, was the staff. Every single person we dealt with was exceptional and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you. From the restaurants to housekeeping and reception, the service felt warm, attentive and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Our room was another big positive: spacious, very clean and comfortable, with enough room for everyone to properly unpack and relax rather than feeling on top of each other. There were only a few tiny downsides. The pools weren’t heated, which made them quite cold and not always appealing. We also felt the food options for children were a bit limited and could do with more variety to keep younger guests happy over a longer stay. Overall, though, Voyage Sorgun delivered a really enjoyable holiday with excellent service and great facilities.

From the moment we checked in, we knew we had made the right decision. A warm welcome with strawberries and Prosecco, then taken to our room, the room is spacious, the mini bar fully stocked, and a lovely view looking on to the beach. What sets this hotel apart are the wonderful staff who cannot do enough for you, all are great, but some need a personal mention as they made our holiday truly special. Hamdiya - our wonderful cleaner who kept our room spotless and treated us to some fabulous towel art. The lobby bar, we did spend quite a lot of time in this beautiful comfy lounge and the staff were amazing. Osman - one of the best mixologists around, his cocktails were beautifully presented, and he makes the best gin and tonic known to man! Islam - the most attentive waiter, I am not sure how he managed to know our drinks were almost finished, and suddenly two fresh drinks would arrive without us even asking. Selim - always smiling, making us special cocktails that we didn't ask for and always delicious. His cheerfulness was second to none and we enjoyed his company. Sameth - whether he was in the lounge or pool bar, he surprised us with fruit platters, chocolates, nuts and nibbles. He told us just seeing us smile and enjoy our holiday was enough for him, when we tried to tip him it was often a battle for him to accept it. Veli - one of the many unsung heroes who keeps the pool area immaculate. He couldn't do enough for us, had our towels ready and beds saved, tables by each bed, and always a massive smile. These staff are often overlooked as do not serve drinks, but Veli is worth his weight in gold! Caek (apologies on the spelling but pronounced similar to Jake), works at speed around the main pool, we hardly used the qr code as he was always around offering drinks. Mirana - always had a big smile, learnt our names and every day helped us improve on our very limited Turkish, but was eager to teach us. Fayzi - our breakfast waiter in the 24 hr restaurant. His lovely quiet manner was a great way to start the day, after day one, he had remembered our drinks order, and his service was impeccable. He had also just qualified as an English teacher, so he was a great go to for any questions we had. Emin - also worked in this restaurant and was never seen without a massive smile on his face, nothing was ever too much trouble. Dinara - worked in the a la carte steak house (well worth the price). Her infectious personality and great service made each time we went a joy. Chef Basuki - he is the star of the show at the teppanyaki, his knife skills are spell bounding, and not only is food amazing, he puts on a very entertaining display cooking all the courses in front of you, highly recommend. The whatsapp service is also great, we didn't wait longer than 5 mins for any question to be answered and they are available from 0800 to midnight. Ask them anything! Thanks to all at Voyage Sorgun for giving us such a memorable holiday. Great food, great service, what's not to like!

We visit the Voyage Sorgun each year (sometimes more than once per year) and find that it is truly wonderful. What really makes our holiday is the warmth and friendliness of all the staff who are so attentive to all your needs. The guest relations team can't do enough to make your stay the best experience and are at hand 24hrs should you need any assistance with anything during your stay. Restaurants, bars, and entertainment facilities are first class too. With its own private beach, swimming pools for all ages, and a very large grassed area to bathe in the sun it is a very relaxing place to be. Don't forget to check out the luxury spa and the sports activities that the Animation team will involve you with and take care of you. We look forward to many more stays at the Voyage Sorgun.

What a trip- from the food, environment, help from the messaging service to the staff- we had a great time and wanted to thank some staff in particular. Kenan in the main restaurant, Halil and Tuncay at the pool bar were fantastic as were Ceylin and Cenker serving pool side drinks were great. The advisors were Ulan, zhaina, kamila were so helpful and with our allergies Erhan (vista manager) was really accommodating. The kids had a great time with Merve in the kids club!
